If you allready had a fusion reaction going, I would think the energy required to get the hydrogen from the water would be nil comparatively.

Or are you saying the sum total of energy in the 2 hydrogen atoms and the single oxygen atom do NOT outweigh the energy requirement to seperate them?  Sorta like celery and the calories provided versus calories requried to digest problem.

"Beside, a linear corelation would be weird : the climate is most likely a non-linear phenomenon .
One must expect granularity hysteresis and phase transition when he is studying climate change."

You.  Win.

yeah, hate to admit it, but marines are ...... smarter isnt the right word.  They have a higher minimum intellect requirement.  Also, a MUCH lower enlistment number to meet and can therefore be more choosy.  If I could go back, I would so join the marines or navy instead of the Army.  But, also, my experiences were very very cool in the Army anyway.

1.  In other words, we have no scientifically valid evidence of warming, but he thinks there is anyway.  nice double speak.
No.  Look up "Statistically significant".

Basically, there needs to be a 95% chance for the upwards trend to be correct in order for it to be statistically significant.  The chance of it being correct is almost but not quite 95%, so therefore it is not statistically significant if you look at only the last 15 years.

On the other hand, if you take a longer period, it becomes statistically significant.  In addition, the fact that it's not quite statistically signicant does not mean it's scientifically invalid or that it isn't very, very likely to be correct.  Just not as likely to be correct as is required for "statistical significance".

Hmmm, thinking about your point.  I concede and rescind the questions.  It almost seems to me now that the questions themselves were loaded.  I will think and research some more before I return to this line of questioning, if I do.

Thanks.  Facts and knowledge are cool!

Sorry Akura.  My own derail is over.

Hokay.

First, no.

I have said several times now, in differing ways, I don't give a shit about your premise, whatever that was. I just want to know where the hell you think governments money comes from if not from taxes. You said: Bluh bluh bluh the government does not use taxes bluh bluh  ( YOUR A LIAR CRIPTY ). So I asked what the fuck you were smoking and where I could get some. You proceeded to change the argument every time I pointed out what a god damn moron you are.

here is my original statement you went boffo over:
Or maybe the left wingers kept giving way all the money and now there isnt enough left for everyone cuz the damn public trough is empty.....
Farseer in his comments below hits it on the head and doesnt even realize it:  SOMETHING must be cut.  Education - cant do that,  FREE Healtch Care - oh hell no cant do that, Homeless shelters  - damn thats rough, but gotta start somewhere.  Cuz if you dont, it will ALL dissapear.  It sucks when Big Brother/Nanny/Mommy runs outta free money for ya.
The healthcare isn't free.  We pay for it, and we get it.  Big Brother and the imaginary Nanny State do not come into it.

I guess there'll be a lot more homeless people after the conservative cuts anyway...

Question:  How do you pay for it?  Do you pay the doctor when u see him?  Or does the government pick up the tab?  I am curious.

EDIT:  Sorry for the double posts back to back!  My bads.

To which you insanely replied:
/:l

Wut?

Do you think the government just has this well of money that it all comes from and your taxes are set on fire?
Which makes no fucking sense,

Second, No.

No one as far as I can see in  this entire thread has said the government has enough money. You are not allowed to say we are stupid for thinking it has enough money on one hand and using the other hand to angry ask where we would cut it if we are so smart.

To untangle the thought possess of that last paragraph: You are then only one who has ever insinuated that the government has enough money  ARE YOU BRAINDEAD CRIPTY? . Also no one else is yelling nearly as loud as you that that is stupid.

I honestly do not understand you, but if I was to take a stab I would say you are calling yourself mentally deficient.

Third, what?

That website makes no sense, we are running a little over a trillion dollars a year with a total of almost 14 trillion. Where the hell did he get 3.7? (Note, I know where he got 3.7. He is assuming, apparently much like yourself, that the government has no income at all in away way. This is a stupid assumption, after all, every tax day be pay a ton of money to the government. They do not just lose it behind the couch like this guy is thinking. And that is only around 40% of the governments money.)

Fourth, what again.

Seriously that website is so stupid. I don't understand why you linked to it at all. It has nothing to do with the real world at all. It blatantly ignores everything and then fills in the gaps with sarcastic remarks about stealing everything.

Seriously, to you, read, comprehend, analyze, respond.  Its not hard Cripty.  You didnt even understand the discussion from the beginning and have now derailed it to the point insanity because you could not even understand the first point.

If the entire link doesnt make sense to you, all i have to say is, WOW.  You really do miss the mark.  I mean, your right, the number is 1+ trillion per year, so like, if we steal everything, we might make it 3 or 4 years instead! /SARC - wow, i mean, really, wow!  holy shit.   whats the point of discussion if your that obtuse................

Lets recap:  a statement was made about evil bad goverment cutting services.  I responded with question about how to decide what to cut since money (this is important Cripty - read it) doesnt grow on trees.  Then you went spaz.  I must admit my fault in allowing you to bait me like this.  I should have moved on from your chattering and feces throwing.  But I got sucked in.  After that I asked you "Do you really think that taxes are the only goverment revenue?" and then your went more spaz, and now even scream my own argument back to me in some bizarre world of illogic.

@ Leafsnail, I didnt want to use defense as a cut because I see it as a too easy to got strawman argument.  Its a knee-jerk response from certian points of view with backup.  I didnt mean to snap at everyone and sorry if somehow I offended you or something,  Cripty just go tme a tad riled up, which is totally my bad.

PS -  I would lke someone to show we where I said the government doesnt use tax money.  I only said there are also other revenues sources.  Never implied how much or how little each was compared to the other.  I was simply asking questions to generate discouse.

PPS - Neoniveks answer made me laugh.  Cynicism at its finest!

PPPS - I am descended from iimigrant scots............crap.

PPPPS - why am i arguing this nonsense on the net anyway......stupid stupid stupid.  *facepalm - Cripty - I hope your days are filled with wonder, joy and peace. Also, I pray (literally, I just did) that you have a smile on your face and a laugh on your lips every day for the rest of your life.  I can be an asshole and I know it.

One problem with Sea level rise is that Sea level is not uniform around the globe.  The oceans are not a single glass of water with a flat surface.  I will look for the scientific article about this later and link it, but i believe it basicly said that the oceans are like 6+ feet different in elevations.  Also, that the difference is not a cycle of tide in and tide out, but a product of mass/rotation/tectonics/other stuff (sorry, dont remember the real actual science other), which basicly means, Sea Level at say "Point A" would flood "Point B" and Sea Level at "Point B" would leave "Point A" high and dry.  The article stated that rise in sea levels would only exacerbate this, not correct it.  The article was written by a proponent of global warming BTW.  Anyone else read that and provide more clues?

Leafsnail:
1.  In other words, we have no scientifically valid evidence of warming, but he thinks there is anyway.  nice double speak.
2.  Your right, thats the correct article, my bad.  Not sure where I got my dates and such.  Probably blind bias.  It happens.  :P

Oh... Oh damn. Thats just... Wrong. It makes it seem so petty really... The american army lets people like that in? How sad...

an American maybe able to correct me if im wrong, but at least until the early 1990s, if not present some states would offer an army tour as an alternative to a short term prison sentence.

That got changed after the 1970's, a time when the US military was literally nothing but a bunch of alcoholic druggies.  That was when "Goto to War or Goto Jail" was more than a marching cadence.  Ronald Reagan, wether you love him or hate him, is the man who cleaned up the military and re-instilled patriotism and honor to the services.  Criminals were kicked out, standards were set for advancement and recruitment began looking for more intelligent candidates for service.  That being said, when I entered the Army in 1991, my entrance scores were in the 96th percentile.  The man sitting behind me at the MEPS center got a 38 and passed.  But, that score does not indicate a predeliction to the amoral murder of civilians.  Just want to make that clear.

PS - there are some realllllllly dumb people in the Army.  The stories I could tell you.......sheesh.

Question:  How do you deal with the fact that the leader of those guys in the emails, Phil Jones, said, publicly, afterwards, that:

1.  There is NO statistical evidence of global warming for the last 15 years (you know, those years that are supposed to prove anthropomorphic global warming).

2.  The warming seen before 1940 and then through the 70's was a result of natural forces and completely unrelated to man.

The guy saying this is considered the main man on this subject.  Quite curious.

Also, Phmcw, you derided Nikov about a belief earlier, then went on to say:  .... but enough to consider it as the most likely scenario.  In otherwords, what YOU believe.  Not trying to pick a fight here, but that just stood out to me.

For the sake of honesty, here is my own belief:  Its the SUN.

Criptfiend - You still cant answer MY original premise, you are lost in obscurities of one of my posts, that HAS nothing to do with my original argument.  Alas, I allowed you to pull me in a bit, but still, the questions remains.

Also, about your "not being able to raise more taxes" bit.  Dont be foolish and think there is enough moeny everywhere (like the rich or those EVILE corps or somesuch).  Here is a simple, brief, funny analysis of the get more money stance:

http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/2011/03/feed-your-family-on-10-billion-a-day.html

simply and straight forward.

Q: What's red and bad for your teeth?
A: A brick.

A panda walks into a bar and says to the bartender: "Can I get a ...... Martini?"
The bartender replies: "Why the big paws?"

Q: What is the opposite of Christopher Reeve?
A: Christoper Walken

Q:What has five legs, three eyes and two tails?
A:A dog with spare parts.

Q:What is green and has wheels?
A:Grass. I lied about the wheels.

Q:What has four legs and one arm?
A:A happy pit bull.

I have a thing for anti-jokes (like the one about "lied about the wheels."). Another good one is, "A guy walks into a bar. He's an alcoholic and it's destroying his family."

wow

I think I have to hunt you down now, with my pit bull......   ;D

UMMMM, i have a question about that video.  He says, reporting from "Wisconsin", that "people are protesting the corrupt kingdom"......but the protestors WORK for the corrupt kingdom.  The protests are about them wanting even more of the money that the corrupt kingdom has. When they make more on average (by far) than the citizens of the kingdom allready.  I am confused!

As a former member of the US Army, I am ashamed by the actions of these people.  Vile human beings, everyone of them.
Thats a kicker right there, how does the troops feel about this knowing their own mates did this shit?
Like a kick to the balls.  They put honorable serving men and women into unnecesary danger from people who otherwise might not have been involved in trying to hurt US Troops.  Also, and more importantly, they murdered innocent civilians.  Literally the lowest of the low in human behavior, when the powerful prey unon the weak for fun.  It is only in cases like this when I think we should hand over the traitors to the justice of the country it was perpetrated in.
