yeah EB is the greatest mod ever. Looks like EB II is still ways off, and will be using MTW 2, not ETW as a base, which is unfortunate. Naval combat could be an interesting twist...

Well if it was ETW I wouldn't be able to play at all.

Also doesn't ETW have a problem with ramming? EB time from naval combat was extremely centric about ramming your foes ship.

It's a bit slow paced

Slow paced my ass, the game is a fucking blitz, you can't fucking turtle or take stuff slow.

Then the only RTSes ive found that aren't fucking blitz/micromangment fests are the EUIII/HOI2 games, I supose TW could count I guess but they aren't RTSes, they are turn based strat with a RTS element, though the battle mode is rather nice.

BI is a mostly shallow attempt at toning down the romans a bit from the original. Play RTR(free mod) instead.

RTR feels like vanilla to me after playing EB.

Europa Barbarorum is not RTW, Europa Barbarorum really changes stuff so much that its a completely different game.

Sauromatae :p

Also their fun, though horse archers aren't my cup of tea, though 1 family member can fight quite well alone in defense of a city.

Just remember as a Nomad Horse archer faction you don't need full stacks early on to accomplish objectives.

Right since theres no topic on it specificly and I'm currently enjoying a couple awesome campaigns in it so far I made a topic.

http://www.europabarbarorum.com/

For you barbarians who haven't played it, its a beyond awesome mod for RTW, (though any of the newer EXEs work.)

Currently enjoying a Romani (208BC), Aedui (205 BC) and Pontos (260 BC) Campaign.

Romani atm is quite fun, the AI expansion went rather insane in the East and is promising me fun wars if I get that far.

EA games does indeed suck.

Though BF:Heroes is fun, obviously EA are jumping on the Free game bandwagon.

I loved it at one time, but meh don't see the point in it.

Star Trek: Armada II was great fun though.
