Toady had said somewhere that a possibility for early magic is to use someone's blood (since it's tracked now) in creepy voodoo spells. Interesting so far.

Oh man. The jump from .960 to 1.003 is astounding. What a difference a few animations and sound effects make! I titter everytime I knock someone down and hear a new death cry. Well done end result. My only peeve is the new running animation looks a little silly.

I had a character who killed 13 goblins in a row. He was only trying to escape, but the entire fort followed him out across a flat desert. This lead to an epic battle where he ran from the fortress, swatting at any goblin who caught up. There were many more who just lost limbs than dying, but it was a 13 count kill, giving Shiny Reinbows, The Legendary Vestibule of Slaughter.    Awesome.

Yes, look in creature standard. Just doing the babysnatcher and intelligent tags got me a siege at 16 dwarves. Insanely hard. Survived the first siege, but they came back with weaponmasters and archers the very next season. Warning, this will make DF hardcore! It'll be easier after the first reclaim tho.

I haven't seen this yet on this forum, so I'll ask it. What are your favorite classic console games, I'm thinking along the lines of NES, SNES, Genesis, and anything else that seems right. Bonus points for them being hidden gems.

The Ganbare Goemon series. Mostly the SNES games, but the rest of the series is good too. Had side-scrolling action broken up with a couple of awesome first person giant mecha fights.

The temple of mold. They say that the pool of stagnant water in the temple of mold allows one to experience disease.(WTF!!!) Praise blight! I say once again, go with disease!

Funny how they were the last humans alive in the world, down to one + town. The human race must've died out worshipping blight and exposing themselves to disease. har har.

Considering we're already able to edit so much in the raws, I'm sure that we'll have a choice whether or not to use magic. I'm not deciding until I see how it works. No doubt though that it will not be cliche, nothing about DF is, or ever will be.

Can anyone tell from the devlog if the next release might have squad names for adventurer groups? That'd be a nice addition of flavor.

Put that map in the file depot if you succeed, I'd like to see that. Terrorform the area, and make a sprawling labyrinth down all the z-levels to the entrance at the bottom, and it would be an awesome adventurer challenge.

Adventure mode is rewarding merely in the sense of words. Your name and title for becoming famous, hilarious civ names, and the awesome combat logs. It's nice to see the fighting happen word for word and be able to picture it.
