DF Suggestions / Re: Schedule a holiday
« on: January 25, 2023, 09:48:30 pm »
Usually how I handle this is to take all my dwarves in their squads (and every dwarf is in a squad, except miners/woodcutters),
and set up a "rotation" schedule
with 1 month to train (for craftdwarves) every 3 months,
or 1 month to not train (for military dwarves) every 3 months.
Over the summer every year, I de-assign everyone from the armor rack so they're forced to socialize and pray and whatnot.
For civilians, this is for 3 months (since they're on rotation to "train" one month in that timeframe).
For military Dwarves, this is for 2 months (just to make sure of things, also since they may have a time off in there).

DF Suggestions / Hover on tree trunk, branches shows tree type
« on: January 25, 2023, 09:42:30 pm »
It would be extremely helpful, when planning wood-based production, if hovering the mouse over a tree trunk would say what kind of tree trunk it is.
It is very tedious to have to switch between k-looking and designating cutting for every tree, or to try to remember which tree was where, when going for a specific type of tree. If the mouse hover would show what kind of tree, then we could work in the designation menu and know what we are designating without having to guess and check.
I also wish it was easier to see what kind of trees are where, or how many, so I don't accidentally depopulate the entirety of my favorite kind (I'm looking at you, willow trees!) but that is a pipe dream wish.
