No, unfortunately decorations don't add any weight.

If they would then my war hammers would be already decorated with every single available material.

He wouldn't start because the workshop was outside his assigned burrow.

Happened to me too, my mason grabbed about 15 stones before I save scummed (fearing that he would take all stone from the whole map and still fail) and this time he claimed the correct workshop, grabbed 3 stones and 1 cloth, then started working.

He may want specific metal bars, check his preferences.

Also make sure he is not restricted to a burrow.

I wouldn't be able to test anything without this. Also never had any problems caused by it.

I have just spawned about 30 whales in the arena and let them kill each other. Then butchered the corpses.

The smallest meat stack from one whale was [147] (but it had [151] fat too), the biggest one was [1321] !

Whale meat roast [5000] anyone?

Combat is really strange now.

I just had wolf bite glance of skin of my woodcutter...
Also war hammers are underpowered, it takes ridiculously long time for my dwarf to kill a wolf with his exceptional steel war hammer.

Also goblin junk is no longer such a junk, dwarves can wear it.

Useful if you don't have full steel set for everyone.

They will pathfind if you set the door to "animals cannot open door", but if you lock it completely they won't.

If you don't use a workshop and don't want manager orders to be queued there either forbid the materials workshop is made from, or add 10 suspended jobs to it. This is just a workaround, I would be happy to see a better solution of course.

Persistent repeat jobs - that aren't canceled at the slightest interruption - would be useful in their own right.

Yeah it would be awesome, but would probably require quite a lot of work to program. Available materials will need to be tracked so that dwarves don't take the job unless there is something to work with.
Otherwise you would get endless spam of "<dwarf> cancels <job>: no <material> available"...

Steel Swords and Golden Goblets need different profesions enabled so your example fails. :P

Edit: Oh wait, I get it. If you assign a forge to weaponsmith and it receives metalcrafting job, noone will work there...

Anyway a setting to forbid a certain workshop from receiving manager orders would be nice.

Queue 10 Render Fat jobs on Repeat. Manages won't add any orders if queue is full.
