Should we start posting on the game forums about our intentions to found a new empire? Forums seem somewhat dead so it might liven them up a bit

Aye, for now lets all explore, expand, and level up. In time, when we've got sufficient influence and power, we'll take over the world one city at a time ;)

We can do so in the south where there are no kingdoms, like a number of folk did. That whole southern stretch of the world is NEUTRAL, which just means its RIPE for the taking!

I'm currently level 7, heading to start up the Kingdom of Dwarves, or something. You guys aren't giving me any ideas for a bay12 communal kingdom name here D:....

Kingdom of Bay12, mayhap. Simple, and it tells people who we are <3.

Personally, I'd like something a bit more "in-character", maybe something like Kingdom Of Twelve Bays?

I'm making updates to the map as we speak. All doors are fixed, adding air alarms, added a cig machine, fixed the wiring problems, added more ai cameras, added more lights. more fixes coming soon. Expect the updates to be live on the map in the next day or so.

Im going to start working on the kitchen next.

Hey, I might actually try and log on to this again if things are happening

I've got 13 referrals going so far and Mutant told me they give 250 turns each when the referred party has taken 1000 turns, so I'm hoping these guys pan out :)

If anyone's near Valiantsands there's a level 1 dungeon at 48,25. Ogres, minotaurs and such. Seemed doable at level 3, if you're careful and there's good gold and xp to be had.

I've got confirmation that the ability potions are permanent, although it might not continue to be so in the future.
Also, sewer in Flourlake, in the far north of the world, has 3 levels and as many chests.

I'm going to be claiming land down far-south-center (current location: (46, 86)). I seem to be having an error with claiming land at the moment, however, so I'll try and level my main to level 6 first.

Now, do I name this new kingdom/village/land (eventually) after Bay12, Boatmurdered, or am I going to be alone and free to do as I will?

Edit;
1. There's a town called Evershield at 46, 86.
2. You gain exactly 25 turns per hour. Sad.

I just moved south to Slate Port at (60,9), which means I'm still half a world away from where you are. Killed a band of 8 hobgoblins on the road with no problem even though I was estimated to have even chances, so I guess my party setup is above par. Just hired a second archer in Flourlake before I left so my party is 6 man strong now. I'm hoping the additional firepower will pay off. I'm thinking of hiring a third warrior before long as my frontline consists of 2 warriors and a squishy cleric so far and the clerics main task is obviously to stock heal spells and not much else :)

Have you renounced your kingdom loyalties? Otherwise I'd assume you're just claiming land in the name of your king, which isn't going to do us any good.
Also, 25 turns/hour seems pretty decent, have you noticed that you can get additional turns by voting for the game? Look at the links in the top-right corner.

Edit: Can anyone tell me if potions like Potion Of Strength and such are permanent? So far as I can tell all evidence points towards it being so...

Edit 2: Apparently healer pricing depends on town prosperity

Hi,

I'm the developer of Kingdoms. Just wanted to say thanks for checking it out. I'm happy to answer questions here or in the game's forums.

A skills system is planned, but will probably be a couple of months before I get to it (I do releases about once a month - this is a hobby project for me!).

As for the sewers - that's a new feature so probably needs a bit of tweaking. I'll try to make it so that rats spawn more often there.

It seems like a very good piece of work, even with incomplete content and all. I'm definitely looking forward to investing more time in this game and I especially hope you'll expand on the politics and town/kingdom management parts of the game in the future. That sounds like it could be lots of fun already. Although it might not suit this particular style of game, ageing and dynastic options might a feature to consider, in the future.

In as the "Crimson Sickle" Party, currently in the kingdom of Staberinde. My party members just hit level 2 and I'm looking forward to adventuring for real before long.
Are there any plans to possible create our own kingdom at some point?

A kingdom I do have planned, currently working towards a Garrison. I can't remember the town name I am currently at, I'll post it when I get back home...

I'm currently in Flourlake(61,2), just west of Upperbit(67,2) in Staberinde so I'm about as northernly as can be. But like I said, just hit level 2 so its going to be a while before I can do anything useful and its not like we can help each other much anyway.
I'm guessing it would make the most sense to stay loyal to my kingdom for now and get some quests from king Gotrek the Slayer, then strike out on my own later when I'm a bit more experienced.

You have to realize that the players are mostly the same, the only problem is that the many banned griefers are not banned there yet.

One experience doesn't make a trend, certainly, just letting you know that I was less than impressed with what I saw

The server needs two thingsa right now: more people and more admins online.

Everything else will be patched.

About doom mode, check my suggestion threads on their forums. Also I've made sprites for most doom monsters.

And I suggested portal research and dimensional engine.

The map seems awesome, but the players that were on when I logged on yesterday, not so much. And I'm not just talking about the ones playing around with the clown-car rovers, at least that was somewhat entertaining

How do you find out where you are on the big map-thing? I've just got this little crappy map showing where I've walked :<

Ate lots of berries that were poisonous, apparently. Silly pirate.

Edit: What's the clan name?

Clan will exist as soon as I have enough XP and Levels to purchase the skill ;)

Finding your location requires a GPS Unit (Then edit the URL of any of the posted world map locations with your x/y coords) or Exploration (Saves a map of every world square that you enter, and then adds it in-game and marks your location..click map at the bottom of the Shartak game screen once you have the skill.)
Oh, theres an exploration skill? Cool, did not know that, so many more skills then in urban dead, gonna have to consider that one early, if its not a class skill.

One of the exploration subskills is a class skill for scouts, but there's 3 or 4 that are available to anyone. They look pretty good, only just took the first one myself though.
