DF Gameplay Questions / True colors for clothing

I remember it being a thing that there was going to be an option in the Steam version to have the colors of clothing visually displayed according to the clothing item description instead of using the profession type colors. So far I'm seeing the professions colors being used for dwarves in the steam version and I don't see any options for displaying the clothing colors. Was this feature scrapped?
