I think the idea we can just engineer away any and all difference is a little bigoted too. That was the point of my post.
What differences? Between people? You're the one who seems to think males and females just naturally want to do X more than Y because of their gender.
I don't see any females arguing that they're identical to a male. I don't think they'd want to be.
Who thinks like this? Do you seriously look at something and say to yourself: "I don't want to do this, because it's FEMALE/MALE thing, but I only do <OPPOSITE GENDER> things"? Or are you more concerned by how you'll be regarded by society? Because I know the latter happens all the time.
I would think the existence of transgenders actually shows that there's quite a biological influence on personality. You're not explaining how pure socialization causes this.
I would think that since you're arguing for personality differences based on sexual dimorphism, it topples your argument when something as simple as how comfortable one feels in a certain body type isn't determined by biological gender.
After all isn't gender identity just social programming according to the theory?
I'm not sure what "The Theory" is, but you aren't been building a strong case for why it would be something like sexual dimorphism instead. There probably are some psychological traits of ours that arise due to biology but that doesn't necessarily mean they favor a particular gender more than the other. My overreaching point is that personality is sufficiently complex that you lack any solid basis by which to make claims of gendered personality.
