"What. How is that even possible." Stheno tried keeping her head straight. This didn't exactly come out of the blue, even if she assumed they were all barmy back when that first argument broke out. That fight was starting to make more sense even as her entire conception of the world made less.

She sighed in resignation. This would bother her if she didn't look into it. "Let me see those notes." Hopefully she'd find a way to just dismiss it entirely and then escape from this ward on the water during the night.

If it was just the nun Stheno could maybe believe she was merely speaking out of some odd act of theological devotion but there was only one of the old gods who was supposed to be buried, and he wasn't very popular among those who still worshiped the wider pantheon. And it wasn't only her. Fer did not seem to be one to fall for such fanciful tales.

"That Jasso family? I thought it might just be a coincidence. That library is famous, even back on the West. You're practically scholarship royalty. I've wanted to get my hands on the first edition Voynich Treatise on Alvadan Flora for ages now and they're supposed to have the only surviving copy." Stheno would turn greener with envy right now if that were possible.

That seemed to put her at ease. She remembered that there was bad blood between the nun and Elanore and worried that she may have stepped into something.

"Oh, well then. Would you like to go first, Mr. Jasso, or would it be rude for me not to begin since I asked? I know the least about you."

Stheno read the aura. It seemed to scream that her presence wasn't appreciated. "Right... I guess I might go inside then. Though I had hoped to talk with more people who were new to the ship like myself and I'd be sailing alongside. It must have been very interesting, growing up in the House of Scholars, and I was curious about Mr. Jasso's background. I wouldn't want to be a bother though if neither of you are in the mood to discuss our histories."

After a few minutes of wandering she arrives to find Fer and Amberly near the only open magical bookstore in town.

"Oh, hello. I don't believe we've formally met yet. You're.. Amber? And.. The Fire Mage. I'm sorry, I don't know your name. I was looking for Miss Damiel and thought to find her here."

That sucks and they don't understand anything :/

I got as far away from my parents as I could so I wouldn't have to deal with them. Even when I talk to my mother it's with the expectation that she'll be passive-aggressive, condescending, outright vindictive/venomous, blame me for anything while never accepting fault or laughing it off, and in general be a terrible person several times throughout the majority of our conversations, so I kinda disassociate before going in. It's much better to associate with people you actually like to hang around than spend time with toxic people just because of biological ties.

Stheno makes a note of the reagents she'll need from there and thanks the woman before heading off to find Elanore and the others. They were probably exploring the mage shops and other boring places. She set about asking locals for directions.
