Hmm...in that case, see if we can set up on the south wall.  Closer to the tank, and the enemy.
Hell, if we set it up right, we might be able to hit the recruits with the blast from the wall.

Wait for zombies.

Hmm...I think you should signal the sniper and riflemen to open up on the guys in the road, then the gate.
Wait until they've drawn the garrison's attention (pulled them out position?), then blow the charges and move in.

Or should it be the other way around?  Nah, that neutralizes your sniper's advantages, to some extent.  Plus, it means they'll be shooting at you.

Ditto.  Take aim and fire at the nearest zombie.
Hopefully we won't all end up pasting the same zombie.

Noted.  Thanks for the reminder.
And apparently it has at least two spellings.  Presumably the Bandoleer is a more lecherous accoutrement.

I have to ask, where is your awesome avatar from?

You could probably tie the staff to your back when you're not wielding it.

Also, the whole "hat, pants, staff" thing...I don't know why, but I'm starting to think of Australia.  If you can get Australian powers, the army wouldn't stand a chance.
Don't forget to tie corks to hang from your hat.

From a traditional siege engineering standpoint, if not a DF standpoint, you might want to place a earthen berm before your walls.
Might want to set up a second z-level, with fortifications to shoot from.

Well, here's mine.  Look alright?

Yeah, what I was thinking was that since it's been mentioned that they're a buncha mistrustful bastards with a history of violence, you might as well send messages to each one, and perhaps see about spreading rumors of betrayal.

Dude, we're understaffed, and we're all too polite and meek to want to post again so soon.  Join away!

Huh...I might want to get in on this some time.  It's certainly inspired me to boot up my copy.  I'll run up a character later, I was thinking I'll do my usual nerd or merchant style characters.

Though, you know what was kinda odd/creepy?  I was creating characters, and one of the random names I got was "Beatrix Steiner".
This game was shipping BeatrixXSteiner about eight years before Final Fantasy IX was released.

EDIT:
I'm starting to remember why I stopped playing.  I get horribly lost.

Better yet, try to find some way to spread distrust among them.  Like...maybe, sending messengers to each one, but semi-covertly.  Make it look like they're planning to betray each other.

117
Why do I get the feeling the glowing red stuff is either magma or some kinda hidden fun stuff, and it's going to be unleashed upon the army in either case.

EDIT:
Maybe it's just me, but this vaguely reminds me of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the Yellow Scarves rebellion.
So...if you see a seven foot pikedwarf, a six foot speardwarf, and a human, stay out of their way.

If you want to go to the trouble, you can also try to get him to train swim in a semi-flooded chamber, or socialize in the meeting hall.

Does he have a shield, as well?

I'm just trying to figure out how he holds them both in one hand.  Does he tie them together for a double weapon, or does he hold them like musical spoons?
That one seems like it'd be pretty cool; slice off a gobbo's limb with the axe, followed up by the hammer to knock the limb through another gobbo.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Human Siege= Pansies

The explanation I've heard is that the humans are hostile siegers, but their horses aren't, and will get spooked by your Dwarves.

At this early stage of the game, the risk of having him sit out might be worth the (slight) rewards.
