Any of the first 6 or so are an excellent place to start.

I haven't found any reason to read them in order yet, although it is necessary to read the book quite thoroughly, otherwise it can be difficult to understand what's happening.

Think of goblin demons as a sort of 'tame' or 'civilised' demon, while demons from the pits are just hell-bent on the destruction of the entire world.

It sounds somehow... dirty...

1. Yes. That said, if you start mining on the right z-level, it should just reveal the whole thing.
2. There shouldn't be a problem, but in case there is, bring a few war dogs.
3. No (confirm?)
4. Not to my knowledge.

Well, first I did this: Necroclearings, the red spinel amulet from the classic Boatmurdered.

Then, I did this: Spearchewed, an iron sarcophagus with an image of a dwarf (I chose it for its simplicity).

Then, my least favourite, Quillmarket the Untamed Scale, a hematite crown. I should have spent more time on it, in retrospect. But, here it is.

I'm currently in the process of finishing Chillcunning the Silvery Famines, a silver platemail. I'll post it when it's completed.

Meh, temperate works well enough for me.

I've done a couple of cold environments, but they seem to be frozen for three seasons out of four, not half of the year like I'd prefer.

Minor gripe, I know, but it would make cold environments a little less harsh.

I'm in the process of reading through all of them... not in any particular order. Haven't read the first three yeat; I came in at Equal Rites.

Every time I read one that contains the various dwarven bars in Ankh-Morpork, I find more parallels between Discworld dwarves (city ones, at least) and DF dwarves...

338
The world I'm in at the moment has a massive stretch of joyous wilds to the north. Sadly, it's in a primarily cold environment. There's also a ring of volcanoes to the south, all hot/scorching environments.

It's coming... slowly...

Stupid people keeping me busy on my holidays... stupid driving lessons... stupid trying to find a job... *rhubarbrhubarbrhubarbrhubarbrhubarbrhubarbrhubarbrhubarb*

EDIT: I need the dwarven name for it, too as well as the value.

The armor is as detailed as I'm willing to make it, now I need the ancillary information for completeness' sake.

EDIT2: Also, I stole some of your technique, Moogie. Fortunately, I think it worked quite well on this particular piece.

Hope you don't mind.

What gives me nightmares is having to fit pants for Stravich...

Also,
"...Meng's a girl?"

Gold. Pure gold.

(By the way, click the link... I played with the code a bit  ;D )

I once had my hammerer beat a glassmaker for not filling a mandate. The only one he could find was one of my immigrant glassmakers, who unfortunately had trained to be a legendary hammerdwarf. The guy retalliated and killed my hammerer in one hit. Damn

This is a bad thing?

I once had a dwarf survive four hammer-strokes... then a season later got another 5...

TWO unfillable mandates from two different nobles...

342
I think that's something Toady should consider fairly soon; make the hammerer/Guard etc less likely to deliver fatal or crippling damage as their skill gets higher. Doubt I'm the first to think it though...

343
Ooh, I've got to try embarking in a capital at some point...

I embarked in a human town a few times... it made the game even easier than free adamantine...

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Awesome Pocket World!

The infinte rejects thing is a known bug with pocket worlds.

I vaguely remember something in the devlog about it being fixed next version.

Bug with the pocket worlds. Fixed in the next version (I think?).
