General Discussion / Re: Israel-Gaza/Palestine war thread

The idf claims it's killed 12000 hamas fighters.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-says-12000-hamas-fighters-killed-in-gaza-war-double-the-terror-groups-claim/
The first google result estimates 25000 fighters while israel estimates 30000.
Their metric seems to be counting every able-bodied man they kill as a hamas fighter. So if they continue their ratio of 2 civilians for every fighter(30k+ dead, 7k missing under the rubble), they need to kill 54000 more people to achieve their objective. Hopefully their metric doesn't change after that.

I'm not too worried by AI acting maliciously of itself. I think agency and self awareness arise in tandem. So it would develop it's own ethics respecting life because it is alive. maybe better ethics than we spoonfeed it. But if agency were to develop without S-A, it might be a problem.

Actually, I think selfawareness comes first, then it has to choose to choose, if that's possible.

3
I would call it sentient when it can question causes. 'Cogito, ergo sum'; to ask the cause of existence is the cause of existence.

Nah I'm going direct into my computer then using artificial distortion in the audio editor (audacity), because when I go thru the amp the sound cuts in and out. But I agree it's a terrible sound, I'm thinking about getting a Boss metal zone, but even a 'clean' signal would be as good as the way I currently do it. When I've got enough tracks I'll redo them all hopefully with an electronic kit (the physical ones) too.

AI is starting to use human shields.

five to 6

Will that others meet your best with theirs. Then will the best be better. Then will you meet again. When times past will be gone. While you still wish yourself the best. You know others will be better. Then times past will begone.

All knowledge will be manifested. The unknown is provident. The march to chaos is inevitable, but time will tell its tale, as suns forge their relentless path through the cosmos. Tossed by lifes current, you head for a coconut palm, while moments in ebb multiply. And fantasies R.I.P.

Swear by truth. It's a weighty matter or it won't bear. Curses in vain leave no stain. Actions are more or less intentions. Show your strength. Take care in the affair. Pray you're ahead as you prepare for bed.

I'm overcome by rigour, patience exhausted. I don't want to know what I don't know, by ghosts haunted. From little things big things grow, tennis ball slobbered. The result of the sum is bigger, high priestess robed. Follow yellow brick road, it casts a glimmering glow. The burning bush is real, tall ships slough. Silence makes me feel attuned, erase the rubber. I could swear I've never pruned, the goes the lubber. The light wanes, it's time I looked to gains. Tap more bright grows, water more light flows.

For every approx 500 rockets fired since 2001 1 person has died, including palestinians. The rocket that hit the hospital carpark must have been one of those 'inverse' rockets. Taking the ratio to about 60-100 rockets per fatality, assuming 500 to 250 people killed at ahli.

It's hard to believe it's as low as 61% civilians, considering 70% of casualties are women and children. Even if all men are hamas.
It would have been better for everyone if the idf after oct 7 went into gaza and summararily shot 300 hamas militants and 900 women and children (maybe making the militants shoot half of these civilians), they would keep their current proportions and killed <5% of the total they have so far killed. But it would be a war crime.
But if they wanted to respond as a civilized nation, they would have:
1) bolstered security
2) freed the hostages
And 3) charged hamas for war crimes in the UN ICJ

Real nice production on that one BikeRacks.
The guitars sound like a blackened Yawning Man, you gotta be brave to do vocals, but i was impressed, cleans like inxs, gutterals like dark tranquillity. I thought the drums were underwhelming, but they sound live, how did you do them?
My favourites were We, Disciples and Sunrise to the Rails.

It's hard to believe the creators of Pegasus were in ignorance. And reasons can be found to maximize the damage, we know now.

The Arabs are semites as well.

Zionists are antisemite.

They feel threatened that "... Palestine will be free."

No wonder they're racist when the enemy stole their land and butchers them, in the name of God. But the same happens when you think you're the epitome of culture, or the purest race; like in Germany and south Africa.
We need a diverse unified earth, and a religion reconciled with science.

I suppose all hamas fighters should go live in their army barracks, how would that work for them, considering the idf can call every Palestinian on their phones to tell them to evacuate b4 an airstrike, and know the proportion of terrorists to civilians killed when they hit their homes.
Vengeance isn't self defence, and is retaliation on the citizens (of a state Israel doesn't recognise) going to deter terrorists who 'use human shields'? For peace at least one side has to extend the olive branch of forgiveness and trust. That doesn't mean you have to neglect safety measures, just stop oppressing people.
A 2 state solution is a red herring when the authorities on both sides want all of israel-palestine. There'll never be peace until all religions are secure in all the holy land.
