A little fender 10G, it's got an overdrive button and a gain knob. I get a little bit of distortion plugging the guitar straight into my computer which surprises me, maybe because of the converter jack, but it doesn't sound good to me. The guitar is a yamaha pacifica, probably sound better if it was a Gibson or fender.

Thanks for the interest.
I wouldn't have artificially distorted the answer is neither if I did it again, as it is the more mellow, but i'd have to do another take, i didnt save the original guitar input. As for clean breaks, only a few riffs were made to follow their predecessors, I just throw riffs that ive already wrote that are in the same scale together, I need more experience to be more cohesive.
For NDE and IYCMAM I went through my amp headphones to the input of my computer, but I wasn't getting a consistent signal so for the other two I used audacity to distort the guitar. I got better at producing as I went along, so those two were louder cause I learnt to make the drums louder with a limiter. I used hydrogen for the drums, I'm very basic on a real set of drums.
I want to move more into doom or even death metal, when I get the chops, or more laid back into stoner rock; stoner metal is a bit of a superfluous genre, but i guess I play what comes out. 3/4 of my favourite bands are metal, but I'm into QOTSA, kyuss, old monster magnet and fu manchu too.
It's in c#. I hope you don't find any rip-offs, I've had to discard riffs realising they were straight from metallica or somewhere.

I recorded some stoner metal, just guitar and a drum machine. If you don't have the time or inclination to listen to more than 1 track the best one is 'the answer is neither'.

I suppose I got a bit offtopic.

I modified it anyway for clarity.

Sperm don't need intelligence to choose. I theorise; choice consists of reason and action, growth consists of incorporation and exploration, and intelligence consists of choice and growth; a transcendental being. The sperm represent choice and the egg represents growth. Growth wanes from conception to adulthood, as choice waxes. Then growth waxes with experience, while choice wanes with habit.

I should use motive instead of reason as reason is synonymous with intelligence.

Despite what I've said, or perhaps in spite of it, I'm not against chemistry. I just think it shouldn't be decoupled from evolutionary biology and sociology, and it should be balanced with wholesome compounds, not an if you can't patent it criminalise it mentality. I don't think a given molecule is likely to have a net benefit on society otherwise.
As to a natural definition, I think that which has life is more natural than that which hasn't. (But i think we inherited our will to self preservation from the stone). Complexity might be in the method of isolation, but not in the isolate.

What is the luck of the sperm but a series of correct choices? Like species intelligence is a series of correct choices. And individual intelligence is reason with action; choice.

Isolating chemicals isolates the man using them. Depending on the sophistication of the process as the base, and the number of times processed, it could be 1 in (2,4,8...) or 1 in (10,100,1000...) likely to have a synergistic/symbiotic/synchronistic(getting back to luck) effect.

Most of you aren't considering that the isolate isn't just the apparently useful part of the plant. They are further refined with more select action the more it's processed ie. opium > morphine > heroin > codeine in order of refinement, not to mention more synthetic options like fentanyl and bupronorphine. Then there's ephedra > amphetamine (speed) > methamphetamine. It's like having less and less useful DNA in junk DNA.

Like mutations, it's one in a million hard drugs will have synergistic effects.

Maybe the chemicals are the same, but the production of synthetic chemicals makes the world less habitable, while the production organically makes it more habitable.
There is species intelligence, it's 1 in a million that a random mutation will be synergistic enough with the world to succeed. So nature is one big evolutionary intelligence. We have cannabinoid receptors and nicotinic receptors and psilocybin resembles seratonin, that suggests interrelationships to me, or at least ties to a common ancestor, its true we produce chemicals that bind to the cannabinoid receptors endogenously.
Absolute luck - luck absolutely - is choice. It's the sperm that gets the egg that chooses to live most. Or nature chooses the luckiest as the most fit to thrive.

If you drink apple juice instead of eating apples, or eat seedless grapes, you lose fibre, increasing the junk in your bowels, making your body less natural.

Cooking is a natural production of man. Cannabis seeds would contain enough oil to make the buds potent when cooked. Some fruits will ferment naturally if their skin isn't ruptured. Coca leaves just need to be chewed. Psilocybin mushrooms don't need any preparation besides identification.

You can overdose on paracetamol and aspirin but not on cannabis.

At what point in processing does a psychoactive substance become synthetic? Second step and beyond?
Any processing makes it more artificial, and therefore, with psychoactives, your mind more artificial. Evolution produces ties and interrelationships between species, lab experiments diminish those ties, novelty loses touch with complex reality. Plus there are other alkaloids in psychoactive plants than the isolated trip catalyst, which stabilise or round off the trip, like CBD in marijuana.

I had a few reasons for posting it as a link.
An almost word for word post (including the attention grabbing first 2 sentences) on the forum I originally posted it got deleted and I didn't want to have to rewrite it again if I got banned on this one.
I wanted to preface it with the fact that it's my opinion.
I hoped to garner custom for my game also on the site (it's also on the site itch.io as bitrush).
I envisioned writing more blogs.

I'm a genuine df player who's bought the steam version, donated, had a vampire queen, and forbidden forgotten beast meat to preserve my dwarves.

Humans bodies are natural, but their minds? Not necessarily. The mind may be a construct of the body, but the cause is not the effect. And a plant is more natural than a stone.

Technology comes from exploiting nature, and you're reliant on technology (agriculture, manufactured goods, information/data), hence you're reliant on nature.

I feel a strange urge to start supporting legalisation of every drug just to spite this thread now though.

That's the next best thing, I believe the natural users would have a stabilising effect on the junk users. Like barley malt will convert a certain amount of unmalted barley to yeast digestible sugar.
