General Discussion / Re: Things that made you mildly upset today thread
« on: September 18, 2023, 09:28:36 am »
Dear bay wachers , it has been a long time since I posted some posts here on the forum intently and carefully .

I am writing this post to show my concern and upset , as a Chinese college freshman , I am doing on my millitary training , and I am preparing to become a CPC member , however this day we met a heavy rain and then we had a relaxed time , initially I was doing as what my roommates do , just playing some easy games such as plants VS zombies , minecraft ... just immersing ourselves in the interesting but seemingly harmful fun of games .

Soon after I played the games ,I felt a feeling of emptiness (just played 3 hours ) , stressed as I am , I opened my English text book and just have some reading , but I found it was a little bit more difficult for me to read English , and my word writing became seemingly stumble .

Meeting the stress of lifting my levels of knowlege in college , aiming at getting a master degree how could I balance the fun and study work , please help me !

Feeling concerned about my prospect, feeling tired about my military training, feeling homesick for I am far away from my home , feeling a little bit angry about my roommates for they are obsessed with some useless and meaningless gunshots games, making it a little bit noisy.

Thanks bay watchers for your kind replies !

According to my limited knowledge of the religions , my questions are as follows.

Firstly in Victor Hugo’s the miserable, the series show that the religion plays a positive role in awakening the humanity inside a seemingly evil man .

Second in the TV series the Dopesick the victims of drug abuse were trying to escape from the prison of OxyContin but they failed, desperately and poorly , end up with a horrible death.

How do you think about the facts above?

Thirdly several days ago a stranger contacted me accidentally he asked if I am a Christian, and he wanted to make me become one, I am not religious ,how to reject him politely?

By the way if I want to know more the western religions what books should I read?

Dear EuchreJack , thank you for your encouragement !

Although China has a ton of untapped resources , but the working environment for the workers is so worse that nearly every college freshman is unwilling to learn these subjects , the jobs which can earn much are mainly monopolized by the sons of the officials . If you get the master level of pharmacology ,your only choice in hospital is to dispense the medicine at the pharmacy , however if you get the master level of medicine , you might get a high pay .

The devotion of learning to be a biologist ,chemist  is both high and difficult , but the repay is low . If you want to get a high repay you would better to learn to be a doctor .

Maybe the better choice for me is to go to the USA , the UK , or some other countries except China

Since it is the forum about China , why there is nobody mention the famous meme "CHICK YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL ",it is a famous meme that nearly every youngling here are all know it , it came from a Singer who called caixunkun , he sings the song "ONLY BECAUSE YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL '', in Chinese the pronouncement of'' chick ''is similar to the'' only beacause'' .

This meme speads all across china if you search about the following few Chinese characters "鸡你太美"or the English word "ikun ",you will get a lot of fun!!

Floor 2130

This floor has a normal Chinese student, who is going to a college and enjoy his university life.
He wants to be a completely normal scientist just as the scientists on the floor 2129.

Many weeks ago when I watch the Ukrainian series Servant of the people, I was surprised by a scene about the Chinese government killing the corrupt officials cruelly and massively, about 200 a time, I should say that it is not the truth, although our country likes killing corrupt officials, bout not so many people , many of them get into the prison, not the death penalty.

By the way , the headlines nowadays is solving the corrupt problems in medical systems , which might be very interesting to the foreign friends.

Maybe I am too worried, but everyone here are also worried about it, just now one fellow student of my college posted an insulting comment on this stuff.
Why worry about the radiation when you can bask in it's glow?
😅 Maybe you are saying a joke, sunshine is different this radiation.

From the news here I get the information as follows:

1.China’s general customs administration has suspended the import of the sea products from Japan just because this accident, it seems like when the Taiwan government did something that make my government unhappy, we often stop the import of the sea product for some reasons such as parasitic disease.

2.Our news media used one interesting word “力排众议” this word means many people and organizations are not supporting the Japanese government. News also spread that many Japanese folks have launched many campaigns against the government.

3.The radioactive elements, such as C14 Sr90 H3 are harmful to the human body.

Well, I did not know what The foreigners would say, but many friends here are insulting the Japanese government for its irresponsible behavior.

Dear martinuzz you are not so concerned, maybe that is because you westerners lived in Netherlands , not China, if you lived in China you might be as concerned as me.

But who knows? Maybe the radioactive water is not so harmful as I thought

Countries with active nuclear plants, including China, routinely release far more radioactive water than this into the ocean. The water is treated to remove the most active radiation sources, but some of the lower-level stuff effectively can't be. These low-radiation but long-lived isotopes (on par with natural uranium in potency, are nowhere near enough to increase the average radiation level of the oceans - natural sources contribute far more, and water is an excellent radiation blocker.

So, is it useless for me to think about this disaster? But according to an article I have just read, this disaster affects the USA more than China.

According to my somewhat scarce knowledge of biology, the radioactive material will become richer in the creatures which lives on the higher station of the food chain, which makes me feeling horrible.

Nobody will know how this disaster will effect us, but this afternoon will witness the historical moment .
