How are you tumbling down ramps? Are you alt moving off the ramps? Don't do that.

You can only go down a ramp from on top of a wall tile next to the ramp. In other words, go around to the other side of the ramp and walk down.

Never had a problem with the entrances myself, but yeah. Dwarf towns are not nearly as newbie friendly as human towns. Elf towns can be tricky too, but theres usually a horde of elves just standing around the druid.

I've managed to get an Age of Elves, a Dwarven Age, several Golden Ages, a couple Second Golden Ages and one Age of Sam in addition to the myth, legends, heroes and twilight. Not all in the same world of course.

Oh, Sam was a Titan btw.

Just make sure the temp isn't low enough that it'll hurt your dwarves, or possibly make the temp they take cold damage at lower.

So whats a good temp that makes glaciers, but won't hurt dwarves more than glaciers in older versions?

Yeah, I've never seen one in a dwarf fortress yet, but they appear as downward ramps in Goblin fortresses.  They go down a few Z-levels to a small tunnel which ends in a weird room with more ramps.  Going down those ramps leads you to the tunnel itself.

I've found a couple in dwarf mountain halls. Go down to the bottom level of the mountain halls. If there is a tunnel there will be a down staircase right next to the ramp to go up. It goes down several z-levels, usually branches off a little and then theres this spiral ramp which brings you down to the actual tunnel.

But you cant deny it's a support. Anyways, that bridge is more like a DF wall than a DF bridge.

Theres no actual wars outside of worldgen yet, so the nature of the conflict was probably more complex.

And make boozefish that spawn in natural underground boozelakes which provide the first and only source of animal based alcoholic drink. The lakes would also be populated by cave crocodile drunks.  :P

Well the thing is, the other goblin civ (i found with another adventurer) was very hostile. See, that dwarf civ over there had a captured dark fortress. But a couple other dark fortresses were visible too, so i figured they must also belong to these dwarves.

Nope. Stepped in and instantly got pincuishioned with arrows from a female human ranger with a goblin name. My loyal companions got killed too, cept the speardwarf who passed out behind a tree from arrow related injuries.

You can still start up a war yourself, right? I imagine if you attack the goblins, the dwarves won't actually care.
The problem is that at least half (probably all, but the speardwarf i recruited wasn't a native) of the dwarves there belong to the goblin civ. T'would be more of a dwarves and goblins vs me war since they can't send out armies in regular play yet.

just forbidding the door to the room he's in once the deconstructor + liaison are there would probably be simpler. liaisons will stick around for ages though..

Ofcourse, you could edit the body file so dwarves have no legs and reload, if he doesn't have legs, his leg can't be broken, right?

Problems? Mod it so it doesn't have legs.  :D

I want to make a world covered in icy glaciers, maybe with some tundra, taiga and mountains to be able to import wood and stuff but mostly ice.

How should i go about this? What are the 'stats' of glacier? I know temp should be low, but how low? And what about rainfall and drainage?

Wilderness wandering elves in worldgen happily slaughter innocent animals when they go adventuring in worldgen. I'm talking groundhogs and stuff here, not predators (who shouldn't attack worldgen elves).

This really shouldn't happen, what with elves' oneness with nature and all.

Then why do my elves always have *huge* lists of other kills that are nothing but the wildlife?

Cuz toady didn't fix elf worldgen adventurers not to attack/kill wildlife yet.
