DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Super wide river
« on: May 22, 2012, 07:26:13 pm »
Moon river, wider than a mile...
It does seem unusually wide, and it also seems strange that theres ramps on only one side of it. Is your embark site near any mountain chains? If so, this could be the start of a river that later branches out to more reasonable sizes.

DF General Discussion / Re: History of DF
« on: December 17, 2009, 05:47:24 pm »
My friend asked me about DF history. Unfortunately i am with it only since 3d ver. Is there any way to get short history of DF and Toady? (including what gave the push to donation based fulltime development, what was before (ARMOK I) and so on.)
Perhaps this is what you're looking for?

A double lynch of toonyman and duke sounds pretty good at this point to me, although I'm not really that suspicious of toony right now; I kinda believe his story of being played like a puppet.
Unvote EchoP, vote Duke 2.0.

What I'm wondering now is: should we trust Kashyyk? On one hand, he did say that SniHjen was a regular human, which he was, but he might be an anti-town agent, or he might have just guessed correctly. I'm thinking that there is an agent seeker out there, since there doesn't seem to be an scientist or exterminator, so Kashyyks probably going to get taken away tonight, which is unfortunate if he really is pro-town.

Hmm, I don't quite know who to vote for, SniHjen or EchoP. On one hand, SniHjen's last post here is pretty suspicious:
I
Have
No
Freaking
Clue
Who
Could
Be
Cult!

HELP!
That appears to me to be a transparent effort to lure townie investigative roles into revealing themselves and their information to you, so that you can then night kill them.

On the other hand, Echo's long posts also seem pretty scummy to me, it seems like he's trying to make people trust him by appearing to scumhunt while at the same time avoiding the dreaded label of lurker. He knows that suspicion upon him combined with that label would spell certain doom.
I Vote EchoP, just to make sure he dies.

Yes, I've been watching the game carefully here, but I haven't really seen anything too suspicious so far, so my votes staying on org. It seems like the scumhunting is a bit more frantic on this day 1 compared to other days, but I don't think a day 1 lynch is quite as useful as it used to be due to the multiple factions in the game.

Other Games / Decker
« on: July 22, 2009, 01:15:06 pm »
It's the game of hacking fun!

Basically, the premise is that you're a poor, unknown hacker living in the future, but you have a cyberdeck, a device that allows you to easily hack into systems and mess around with them. So, you can get contracts to say steal a certain amount of files, to shut down a certain I/O node in the system, or even to destroy a system completely. Of course, the systems defenders will try to stop you at every turn. Eventually, you can get better programs, better hardware, and a better place to live, and you can become the most famous hacker in history.

The main website

Here's a screenshot from the system for pepsi cola. The bar on the left shows your loaded programs, on the right is the map, various status bars, and the main control pad, on the bottom is the message area, and in the center is the view screen, which shows the nondescript node that I was in. The game has pretty intuitive controls, but you're probably going to have to turn to the manual occasionally when you're getting started.

I think you're getting a little too worked up over what is essentially random voting at this point, mr. person. Speaking of which, I vote org because he normally talks quite a bit, but so far he hasn't said a word.

In as well. Hopefully I'll get a bit of a different role this time, since my last two roles were very similar.

Well, I'm voting Mr. Person. He's a dopp, and that's that.

More seriously though, why did you lie about what you did on night 3, mr. person? You claimed to have done nothing, but I very clearly saw you looking at pandarsenic's house. Now, perhaps you really weren't here on that night. But then the fact that you still took an action anyway tells me that the other dopps submitted an action for you to use since you couldn't.

Is this really your first mafia game, Janus? Because I must say that you are doing quite a good job with your arguments. Hopefully next game we'll be on the same side.

Really, I knew that you and mr. person were dopps after he claimed reporter on day 5. I suspected you because chaoticjosh specifically called you out while he was still alive, and I suspected mr. person of course because I knew there couldn't be two roles on the same side. I only wish that I had voted for you at the last second on that day, so that both you and flintus would be lynched at the same time. Better late than never I suppose.

Vote Janus.

How do you make good money in this game and get good weapons?
Good money can be made by people with high heart doing legitimate fundraising such as selling shirts, or playing music. Hippies are good for those tasks, and as long as you don't do any illegal activities out of the base they're operating out of, it'll never get raided, and it'll be a steady and safe source of income. The other best way to get money is to steal credit card numbers with people with good computer skill. Intelligence is vital to getting high skill and thus more money with that. But beware, that method builds up heat over time, and if you have a ton of people all going at once, you're going to get raided by the police pretty often.

As to weapons, you can get some good guns at the pawn shop for a pretty good price, but you have to buy the more powerful guns from gang members in crack houses or other places. Those guns are more expensive, but it's generally worth it.

So why are you still voting Frelock, Chaoticjosh? Is it just based on a hunch, or is it based on information you've received from town investigative roles? If the town doesn't have enough info to lynch a dopp today, we should probably just no lynch in order to wait for more info.

That was NOT an impossible song.

And the medium one is apparently read-protected by some kind of license or something like that, and I don't trust anything that says 'click here to download the license'.
I guess the impossible song is a little easy, espicially since it says the name of the game in the music player program. One more try on that one, then.

As to the medium song, you have to download it, then play it. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the 'click here to download the license' though.
