I suppose this is because there is no hostile tag for dead bodies. Thus, a dead dwarf is a dead dwarf.

Additionally, Electrum is used as a magical metal in Dungeons and Dragons. Apparently Toady is a fan.

If you're really worried about space, but don't want to destroy the corpse, you could just make them a coffin out of iron,
then drop it into a magma pipe. Iron is magma resistant, right?

Oddly enough, kobolds still send thieves even if there are at peace with you, and don't get angry if you kill their thieves.

You can easily verify that it was a guard by checking the justice area of the status screen. If he's a criminal there,
mystery solved.

Basically, I find it very annoying when that nice piece of equipment that I've marked for dumping get thrown into the volcano rather
than a normal "garbage" pile. So what I would suggest for the game is the ability to mark things for Destruction much like you
mark them for dumping, or forbid them, or hide them. The item marked for destruction would then be thrown into a area marked for
Destruction which would of course be in a volcano, chasm, or under a bridge, so that you could more easily dispose of garbage
which keeping the stuff you want. Of course, the term Destruction isn't the best choice, since it starts with D but you get
the idea.

Based on the unicorns I've seen, they are no longer crazy killing machines of pure hatred and evil. And no, you cannot butcher them.
However, their skulls and bones make nifty crafts that are worth quite a bit.

You could also try setting different seed types to be cooked. Hopefully then your cookdwarves would come and grab that
one seed and make it into a +Plump Helmet Spawn Roast+.

Someone should probably test and see what happens if you kill off a goblin caravan. Hopefully they'd go to good old war
