I will march my somewhat mobilized army to the demon caves, and the main infantry will set up a defensive perimeter around the cave's entrance. At the same time, a handful of magical ninjas will go into the cave and do some scouting.

Roll To Dodge / Re: Race to the Finish! Turn 40: Introducing...
« on: May 23, 2009, 09:04:14 am »
I want in!

Stick me with a random character.
Sorry, all the open spots have been filled. I don't want this game to have tons and tons of people, it would be hard to sort out, and the turns would take forever to do.

Jump on the mat, and wallrun forward! Steal back my bonus that I was using and use it again for the first treasure roll that comes on my path. Also, flip a finger at Shoruke even though she can't see me.
Shoruke stole your bonus using a stealing bonus of his own. Unless you somehow get one of those, getting that treasure bonus back is impossible.

63
I'll turn this embarrassment into anger! And then proceed to hack at R1cks manhood.
Not my manhood! I need that to keep my head warm! Barbarian slash puny swordsman!

Roll To Dodge / Race to the Finish! Turn 40: Introducing...
« on: May 23, 2009, 12:04:38 am »
Turn 40. I hope you're happy now. I know I am.
KEEP ROLLIN.
|You are about to keep rolling along with your barrel when a door in the wall suddenly opens, and |A well dressed butler bot carrying a staff with a orb on top of it walks through the door. “Here you are sir.” It says as it hands you the staff. It then walks away. You realize that you can’t carry all the stuff you have now, you just don’t have enough hands. The advanced medkit is currently on the ground, since you put it down to take the staff.

Disregarding the incoming stats for the new people, I'm going to steal Siquo's treasure bonus and keep walking forward. I'll just leave the globebot to deal with the 80's bot.
Yoink! You steal Siquos +1 to a treasure roll bonus!
You keep walking forward. |You’re a bit tired from your fast walking before, you so don’t go very fast this time around. You got to 570m.

CLIMB UP THE LADDER GO GO, KEEP GOING FORWARD!

and wtf siquo, you bitch
You try to climb up on the lowered ladder. |You start climbing, and you get three quarters of the way to the top.

Sorry... I... I didn't mean to...

Pick up beamsword, get up on the ladder and go FORWARD!
You pick up the hapless beamsword, then you start climbing the ladder after Emperor. |You feel that you simply must get to the top first, so you speed climb, and try to pass Emperor on the ladder. |You couldn’t quite figure out a way to do it without falling, so you decide not to try.

I try to wake up
You try to wake up from your deep unconciousness. |You cause yourself be a little more awake, but waking up fully will take a little more effort.(e.g. a roll[with no penalties though])

WaspSwarm: At 150m. Loyal to Aussie. Intelligent(+1 to thinking what to do rolls). Simply Decimated(-1 to accuracy and damage and some other rolls), Dazed(Must roll to become undazed)
The wasps try to fly back to 200m with their nest in hand. On the count of 3 they will start moving. One…Two…|Wait, where’s that mysterious smoke coming from? When the mysterious smoke clears, the wasps see |A steel slime blocking the way ahead. It looks pretty tough, and hostile to the wasps.

Steel Slime: At 150m. Enemies get -1 to damage and critical against it.
The steel slime attacks the waspswarm with a jump attack. |It hits the wasps and the nest they are carrying dead on with the attack. | |The slime hits like a freight train at full speed, and the wasps are destroyed by the dozens! Even the still living wasps are knocked to the ground and dazed by the impact. The nest is also smashed into a million little pieces.

Killer Earth Robot: At 450m. It doesn't do anything if it doesn't get a command from Shoruke, but it can hear his commands no matter where he is. Gets +2 to movement rolls. Gets +1 to accuracy and damage rolls. It's back is very cracked(enemies get +1 damage with accuracy rolls of 4,5 or 6. It's left leg is broken(-1 to some rolls)
The killer earth bot attacks the entangled 80’s bot. |The killer earth bots rolling attack wasn’t very well aimed, it was only a glancing blow. The blow glanced off the 80’s bot’s left leg but | | |the leg was completely torn off from the hit! The 80’s bot falls over, and he does so in such a uncool way that he perishes from the impact with the floor.

Stunning Sword Sentry Gun: At 550m. It attacks by firing electrified swords at Katsuun’s enemies. Accuracy rolls of 3, 4, 5, or 6 cause stunning rolls, and accuracy rolls of 4,5, or 6 cause damage rolls, sword effect rolls, and possibly critical rolls in addition to a stunning roll. The gun can’t move itself, and it’s pretty heavy so carrying it requires a strength roll.
“Yawn” Thinks the gun. It wishes to kill something.

***: The ladder that Emperor and Siquo are on is slowly raised to a horizontal position by machinery, then it swivels 90 degrees quickly to be completely on top of the wall again. Since Siquo and Emperor were far away from the fast moving base, they held on easily. They can both see a soft mat on the far side of the wall to fall on to safely.
Gee, I hope that made sense to you...

Medical Clinic Staff: In the medical clinic.
The staff try to fix up Aussie’s minor injuries that were left over from his self healing. |They fixed him to full health again, but he’s still asleep, and they’re not going to discharge him until he wakes up.

INTRO TIME!!!
Suddenly everyone’s earphones activate, and you hear the live show’s audio feed coming through.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the online votes have are been tallied, and the result is that absolutely everyone supports the introduction of two new players to the show’s already exciting and dynamic cast!” The announcer shouts cheerfully. You can only imagine his hand gestures and such. He continues. “So, say hello to two people with funny names, but great potential: Vlynndar Rickets and Serephe Abasia!”
Vlynndar and Serephe step out through a door at | |520m, and wave to the many flying cameras that clutter the sky like mosquitoes. Home audiences around the world at thrilled at these exciting new additions to the show.

Item and skill rolls:
Vlynndar: 2,1. 3,2 | 1,5. 5,3
Serephe:  1,4. 3,6 | 1,2. 5,2

I suppose it is time for yet another challenge. A movie question this is:
What movie's title could be translated to "Searching for nobody"?
The first person to post the answer will be PM'd info on the nature of the final challenge at the very end of the hallway.

I guess Shoruke, Aussie and Katsuun win the +2 bonus to anything bonus. However, since I'm in such a good mood, anybody other than them would clucks like a chicken gets a +1 bonus to anything. This includes anyone who signs up.

Aussie got lucky this turn... Get your mind out of the gutter, I meant dice rolls wise.

I heal myself with my mind.
You try to heal yourself from within your dream. You focus your thoughts for this difficult attempt…|You mind is supercharged with potent mental energies! You try to heal your entire body using this energy! |From within your dream, you feel the energy healing your body. You feel like most of your body was healed, but not everything could be fixed, there was only so much energy to go around. You slip deeper into unconsciousness from the supreme mental effort.

I will take the sentry gun from where it is and KEEP ROLLING.
You try to just keep on rolling along. |You decide not to jump up on the barrel this time, you just roll it quickly along with you. You get to 550m in good time.

Guess I'm gonna just keep running forward, hoping like hell to reach that wall at 600m and help the others with it. If the globebot is still able to hear and react to my commands, I'll order it to beat the 80's bot up.

You order the killer globe bot to switch targets to the 80’s bot who railed on you previously. Then you just keep on going. |You walk a bit quickly up to 560m.

Ignore the pain and help Siquo.
|The pain emanating from your foot dulls a little bit. You try to attack the killer mech rat that attacked Siquo. |You hobble over to the rat, and attack with your pitchfork. You hit the rat right in the back right leg.| |Your powerful hit completely destroys the mech’s back end, and the rat crawls around a bit before it dies from the injury.

If wall is still there, destroy toy mouse.
You try to attack the red toy mouse who is rolling around. |As you draw your beamsword, it flies out of your hand! |It somehow turned itself on in midair, as it flew straight towards Emperor! |The blade catches Emperor in his right arm. | |Luckily, Emperor’s thick shirt withstands the nicking. Emperor glares at you.

WaspSwarm: At 150m. Loyal to Aussie. Intelligent(+1 to thinking what to do rolls). The swarm gets two attacks per turn, but gets -1 accuracy with the second attack. Speedy(+1 to movement rolls). The swarm is carrying their broken nest.
|The wasps try to figure out how to operate the pressure plate so that they can get through the door. |The wasps come up with a brilliant idea: put the broken nest on the pressure plate! | They fly back to the nest, then pick it up. |The wasps easily pick it up when they work together. Every one of the wasps are concentrating on carrying the nest.

The killer earth bot hears Shoruke’s orders, so he attacks the unsuspecting 80’s bot. |He hits the bot straight on like a freight train but |the 80’s bot is only thrown forward. The 80’s bot gets up, dusts himself off, and prepares for robocide.

80’s Bot: At 450m. Possesses a metal fro, rollerskates(+1 to movement rolls), a sun monocle(+1 to speaking in a german or british accent), and a combat yo-yo(+1 to critical). Most of his face is a huge dent. (-1 to accuracy) Caught it yo-you string(must roll to escape).
Super ninja yo-yo attack go now! |The 80’s bot can hardly see, so he just gets the yo-yo wrapped up on himself. He struggles to get free from the super silk fibre string.

Shoruke is in range, but the sentry gun of course doesn’t attack him.

***: The something on top of the wall rotates 90 degrees, and reveals itself to be a ladder. The ladder falls down on a hinge to the base of the wall. |The ladder is falling straight towards the large mechanical rat!  |The rat barely dodges out of the way. The ladder can be used to get over the wall.

Medical Clinic Staff: In the medical clinic.
A nurse notices that the sleeping Aussie somehow looks much better, so the doctor takes another look at him. A few tests reveal the over 80% of the broken bones and injuries that Aussie had healed themselves, and that no serious operation is needed any longer. The new estimate for the release of Aussie is two turns.

Spoiler: Points of Interest (click to show/hide)

I'm going to have to post the new player profiles in a little bit. Although there's only two player slots open, there will be more than 2 characters to choose from.

69
Disclaimer: Any errors in this turn are due to sleep deprivation, and not due to the ineptitude of the GM at all.

Just keep walking. Hopefully my turn is before Aussie's (he's probably not got a lot of good feelings towards me right now). I'll use my 1-time challenge bonuses for movement.
|You pay absolutely no atteintion to the 80’s bot trying to kill you, and you just keep walking forward. A mysterious force adds a spring to your step, and you go very fast indeed. You got to 530m.

I Focus all my mind energy on a blast of mind force into the stupid robot

Aussie has become enraged
|The pain isn’t so bad that you can’t carry on. You try to unleash a powerful mental kinetic blast at the killer earth bot. |Your attack is pretty weak, but it still packs a bit of a punch. |You somehow epic failed a aiming though, and a bolt flies off in a semi-random direction! |The 80’s bot is hit by the blast! |It’s hit right in the head! | | |The 80’s bot’s face is completely messed up, it’s sunglasses are broken, and only one of it’s eyes work anymore. You feel that the only reason it survived at all is because it’s just so cool.

I will set up my sentry gun in this area and attempt to upgrade somehow using the shield I just found. And I set the Sentry Gun NOT to fire at Shoruke.
You set the sentry gun upright, and then you try to attach the silver shield to it. |You can’t think of a good place to attach the shield to the sentry gun, so you keep it for yourself.

Heal my foot.
You try to heal up your broken foot somehow. |The sheer pain of it prevents you from being able to do anything.

Call the producer to get this stupid red-rodent-puzzle out of the way because it's frustrating and probably costing him viewers.

You call a producer of the show. (Somehow, you knew his number, and you got your headset to work). –Ring- -Ring- “Yes, hello, who is this? Oh Siquo you say? I’m a huge fan of yours, I hope you win, and I’m not just saying that because I’m the producer assigned to you. What’s that? You say you’re stumped by the puzzle at 600m? Well, I’m not really supposed to tell you this but…You noticed how when the red button was pressed, a creature appears? Well, if you kill those creatures off, a way to get over the wall will appear. The more you kill off, the longer the way to get over the wall will stick around for. I hope that answered your question. Bye!”
You decide to take the producers advice, and so you attack the annoying Killer Mech Rat as your first target. You run up to it, and give it a mighty slash with your beamsword! |The sword hits it right in the neck and | |The rat is now 60% decapitated! He’s gone into super insane mode too.

Killer Mech Rat: At 600m. In super insane mode(-1 accuracy, +2 damage, +1 critical), Attacks that connect with it’s head are instantly fatal.
The killer mech rat tries to attack Siquo! |He jumps and bits Siquo in the right arm!|Siquo shakes him off before he can get in a good mouthful though.

WaspSwarm: At 200m. Loyal to Aussie. Intelligent(+1 to thinking what to do rolls). The swarm gets two attacks per turn, but gets -1 accuracy with the second attack. Speedy(+1 to movement rolls). The swarm has been resurrected from the dead.
|The wasps try to figure out how to get past the steel door. |They somehow realize that the pressure plate controls the door. They still don’t know how they’re going to get through though. It’s not like they can just stand on the pressure plate then zip on through.

The killer earth bot continues it’s merciless attack on Aussie. |Once again, Aussie is hit right in the chest by the rolling planet! | |Ouchies! Aussie is completely run over, and the killer earth bot’s sheer mass causes almost all of Aussies bones to break. The killer earth bot is shut down remotely again, and the medics drag the unconscious Aussie into the medical clinic. |The healing of all those bones is going to take a while, about 5 turns or so.

Stunning Sword Sentry Gun: At 500m.
The gun receives the orders that Shoruke is a friend.

80’s Bot: At 450m. Possesses a metal fro, rollerskates(+1 to movement rolls), a sun monocle(+1 to speaking in a german or british accent), and a combat yo-yo(+1 to critical). Most of his face is a huge dent. (-1 to accuracy)
|The 80’s bot tries to fix his broken sunglasses. |He didn’t manage to completely fix them, it’s just a sun monocle now.

Spoiler: Points of Interest (click to show/hide)

As I promised before, there will be two new players introduced into the game, on turn 40 specifically. I'll put up the two characters available after the next turn. No claiming spots now I'm afraid.

Anyways, related to that, there will of course need to be some new professions for the new characters to have, and coming up with a few is this turns challenge.
So the challenge is to post professions of any sort, really. Keep in mind that it's the year 2021. If you want, you could also include one positive and one negative skill that they could start with.
If I end up using the profession that you came up with, you get a +2 bonus to absolutely anything.

The Basinian army will work at setting up a defensive perimeter around the hell mines. Meanwhile, the magical ninja core will spy on the demons as best they can, in order to find any sort of weakness in them.

I will of course reactivate the draft immediately.

71
It's nice to see everybody working together this turn, but it didn't really amount of much. At all.

"Hey Katsuun, truce." I run forward.
You propose a truce to Katsuun, then you try to keep running forward. |You get into a great rhythm with a fast-walk, and you quickly eat up the ground in front of you. You soon get to where Aussie and the globebot are fighting.

{Nods at Shuroke}

I will follow Shuroke as best I can with MY SENTRY.
You agree to Shoruke’s proposal. You then try to keep going forward with your sentry gun. |You once again jump up on top of the barrel, and you run forward on top of it. You simply speed through the hallway, and you only stop when you get tired at 500m. |A sudden flash out of nowhere blinds you for a second, and when you open your eyes again you find a wooden armoire in front of you. You briefly wonder where it came from, then you open it up, revealing |an ornate silver shield in the armoire. You put it on your arm.

I shoot the danm robot with my bee blow gun twice

You attack the killer earth bot again with the BEE blowgun |The first BEE barely zings by the Earthbot’s arm, so you fire again. |The projectile hits the Earthbot in the right leg. |It just bounces off though.

Pick up and throw the red toy mouse at the thing at the top of the wall.
You try to catch the red toy mouse. |You catch it easily because it has such a predictable movement path. You hurl the mouse at whatever’s sitting on top of the wall. |It slips out of your hand though, and it lands on your right foot. | |Somehow the weight of the mouse breaks your right foot. Ouch. You fall to the ground and clutch your foot.

Help Emperor get the thing on top of the wall by giving him a boost. Not high enough to get him *over* the wall, mind you.
You see that helping Emperor to see over the wall now is probably impossible, so you look around instead, and try to solve the mystery of the wall. |You realize that the toy mouse, small mechanical rat, and large mechanical rat are integral to the puzzle. You have a hunch that Emperor had the right idea with catching the mouse.

Killer Mech Rat: At 600m. Gets +1 to damage and critical.
The rat picks it’s target carefully… |It chooses the prone Emperor. It tries to bite him with it’s sharp teeth. |It bites Emperor right in the head but | | |Emperors head isn't even cut from the bite though.

The wasps continue their migration back to king Aussie. |This time they take the trip a lot more seriously, and they fly very quickly. They soon get to 200m, and they are befuddled by the steel door blocking the way there.

Raaarg! EARTH SMASH! |Aussie is completely bowled over! | |Aussie is thrown into a wall, he’s bleeding all over now, and his organs are hurting a bit.

Stunning Sword Sentry Gun: At 500m.
There are no enemies around that the sentry gun can attack.

80’s Bot: At 450m. Possesses a metal fro, Sunglasses(+1 to coolness rolls), rollerskates(+1 to movement rolls), and a combat yo-yo(gets +1 to critical). It also has an innate coolness about it which can protect it from serious injuries.
|The 80’s bot rollerskates forward. |He gets to 450m, and he examines the three creatures there carefully….| |He chooses to attack Shoruke again with his combat yo-yo. |His tricky attack misses, but it looks pretty awesome.

---: |Shoruke and Aussie hear the puzzle door closing in the distance.

Spoiler: Statuses after turn (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Points of Interest (click to show/hide)

Shoruke is the winner by default of the challenge. I can't believe nobody else even tried, it's a pretty fun game, at least to me.

72
can the next challenge something i can do like something to do with dnd or australia

somthing with the POI's

Sure, I can probably come up with something along those lines...

400m: Aussie and Katsuun and the stunning sword sentry gun are here. The puzzle door is open
450m: Aussie and the killer earth bot are here.
Well obviously there's cloning machines in the future. If your two selves work together, you could blow away the competition!  ;)

One hot turn, coming right up!

73
Nothing much happened this turn, really. Even though the only one who really succeeded was Shoruke.

GAH! Well I guess I'm going to solve the puzzle door again and head through it.
You are released from the clinic at 400m, and you immediately try to figure out the puzzle door again. |You remember some tricks about how you solved it last time, so you quickly solve the puzzle again. The door opens before you.

I will take my bonus toward Combiner. And I will try to figure out the Puzzle Door.
You watch Shoruke solving the puzzle, and when he’s done the door opens. You think about what you’re going to do now…|You put on the brown shoes, and put your old comfortable white shoes on the ground. The shoes are a little big for you.

I coomand the wasps to come to me and tell them well done

I attack the robot with my mind!!
You disregard the crazy voice in your head, then you congratulate your wasps on a job well done. You try to fire a blast of kinetic energy at the killer earth bot. | You fail to concentrate, and you get a minor headache from your attempt.

If Siquo does not attack me: Try to find a way to get past the steel wall.
You look for a way to get over the steel wall. |You figure that what the wall needs is some smashing! You attack the wall with |the player killer. Despite your best efforts, the wall hardly gets a scratch. |At least the sword didn’t get too dented up.

Push red button AGAIN! There must be something to it...

You press the red button again. |You hear a sound coming from the mousehole, so you look to see another large mechanical rat coming through. It’s so large, it actually has to enlarge the hole as it comes through. It has glowing red eyes, and it looks really vicious. It stares at you, and prepares for an attack!

Killer Mech Rat: At 600m. Gets +1 to damage and criticals.
Two spinning saw blades pop out of the rat’s back, and he attacks Siquo with them! .|Luckily for Siquo, it’s jump was quite a bit off.

WaspSwarm: At 160m. Loyal to Aussie. Intelligent(+1 to thinking what to do rolls). The swarm gets two attacks per turn, but gets -1 accuracy with the second attack. Speedy(+1 to movement rolls). The swarm has been resurrected from the dead.
The wasps finish up their celebrations, then they say goodbye again to the broken nest, and try to fly back to Aussie.|The wasps aren’t really in any hurry, so they only get to 160m.

The robot attacks Aussie again with a roll attack! .|The globe barely misses Aussie.

Stunning Sword Sentry Gun: At 360m.
The gun is unsure whether or not Shoruke is an enemy. |It decides that Shoruke isn’t really a serious threat to Katsuun.

80’s Bot: At 400m. Possesses a metal fro, Sunglasses(+1 to coolness rolls), rollerskates(+1 to movement rolls), and a combat yo-yo(gets +1 to critical). It also has an innate coolness about it which can protect it from serious injuries.
|The 80’s bot tries to improve it’s sunglasses, and make them more awesome. |It gives up after it can’t find anything to add.

I know what the challenge will be this time around! I call it international telephone! Since I made up the term myself, you're going to need the explanation below.
So, the winner of the challenge will be the person who can create the funniest text using this as your source material.
Since this challenge could potentially be time-intensive, the prize is the addition of 30m to one movement you make.

74
Also, emperor gets -1 to acc from pitchfork and -1 to acc from my briefcase. Just in case, next time we fight. Which is likely.
Yeah, the -1 from the briefcase would have made no difference this time. But the -1 from the pitchfork is negated from his skill at pitchforking.

I don't think Emperor's really trying to severely injure you, if he was, he'd be better off using the player killer.

Anyways, one turn coming up!

Wow, you have the worst luck. A lot of these posts read like things straight out of a bad sitcom. Makes for an interesting story though.
