MHFU (hundreds of hours logged).
Yeah, Pandar. You only put participating in Mafia off because of that game about a dozen times.

L4D isn't about killing zombies it's about killing sick people.  I always find it funny when people try to counter the Autralian government's actions in regard to L4D 2 by saying it's a zombie game when the game is so specific about calling them "Infected" and not zombies.  I mean, there are so many legitimate defenses they could mount for the game, but they have to choose the one that isn't true.
Er...what? The L4D blog often switches between calling them "Infected" and "zombies." They really are interchangeable terms when it comes to L4D. But this thread isn't about L4D, so let's not get too into that.

Also, for all you people saying it's like L4D... It's like Alien Swarm, the mod for UT2004 it's based on.
Yeah, but since they were hired by Valve and this is being released by Valve, they automatically get compared to Valve's other games. Especially Valve's 4-player co-op series. I just hope this has some variety in the aliens. L4D accomplished this pretty well with the common Infected, as they were all wearing different stuff so they didn't look too similar.

I think this is a experiment to test the Steam servers, no preload+its free=overloaded servers.
That's why you switch to underused download servers. =P Seriously. After the Engy Update for TF2 a couple weeks ago, I switched to Austria at Umi's suggestion, and my download still went fast, and I'm not even remotely close to Austria.

Looks good, especially for a free game! However, judging from the videos, there doesn't appear to be a large variety of aliens. They seem to be trying to make up for this by adding a whole bunch of weapons. =P

Judging by the minimum requirements on its Steam page, I'll be playing with close to the bare minimum! I really need a new comp. At least a new graphics card. System requirements for easy viewing:

Quote from: System Requirements
Minimum:
OS: Windows® 7 / Vista / Vista64 / XP
Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Memory: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with 128 MB, Shader model 2.0. ATI X800, NVidia 6600 or better
Hard Drive: At least 2.5 GB of free space
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Recommended:
OS: Windows® 7 / Vista / Vista64 / XP
Processor: Intel core 2 duo 2.4GHz
Memory: 1 GB for XP / 2GB for Vista
Graphics: DirectX 9 compatible video card with Shader model 3.0. NVidia 7600, ATI X1600 or better
Hard Drive: At least 2.5 GB of free space
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

[PPE:] I wouldn't say it's fun yet, Soulwynd. We haven't even played it. And I enjoy L4D.

Also. Possibly main difference between this and L4D: this is 3rd person top-view. This is also class-based, so like a mix of TF2 and L4D and some open source top-down display game. Judging by the videos, the music doesn't sound as impressive as the music from the L4D games, which was very atmospheric. But then again, I didn't hear any music in the gameplay video, just guns and what I assume are the aliens' death cries. I really hope it's not like that in-game.

Similarities I can see so far between this and L4D:
4 player co-op
Shooting hordes of enemies
Choice of weaponry, though this has a lot more (not necessarily a good thing; if not done right, they can make the game feel cluttered)

Differences:
Top-down instead of 1st person
Aliens, not zombies
Class-based
No announced other modes other than Campaign-style; especially no Versus
Possibly no in-game music

[PPE2:] Damn you, Hugehead! Beat me to it.

Count Diablo von Sizzlepuff.
This. And you can call him any part of this for short.
So I can call him "S"? it is part of the name.
If you'd like.

The point would be to allow the colossus to move farther up the rankings in this contest. Jesus has no need for such glory, and it would make the giant killing machine happy to have a chance to kill more things. Since Jesus is not selfish and not really harmed by death, he must allow it to defeat him.
You have a point.

Bronze Colossus

Shouldn't this be in forum games?
Not really.
And I agree, as it involves a lot of discussing of these characters in general.

Steam tells me server is shutting down if theres no donations... that would suck. :( I'd donate but I'm a jobless bum.

If it does go down we should give it a proper send-off.
Actually I think Nilocy said we made the money.

Yeah, I just checked the server donation page. We have $35.

To be honest... if going to heaven means being with the WBC crowd, I'd probably take hell any day.
Don't worry, those who went to the WBC during their lifetime wouldn't be playing LAH TF2!

They'd probably picket it instead.

actual Jesus, who was easily crucified and then killed
But that was because he allowed himself to be crucified! And that was because there was some kind of point behind it that I don't really understand. What point would there be for Jesus to let himself be killed by the Bronze Colossus? None that I can see.

Jesus!

Im waiting for the day someone infiltrates their group and places a big bomb to take out their entire village block thing they've made. I mean its in America, its bound to happen some time.
Don't go there, man. I want them to shut their mouths and stop waving their god-damned signs as much as the next guy, but wanting them to be blown up is quite extreme.

Yeah, that would be fun.

I don't get the WBC's message.  They seem to be split between "It's already too late!  You will burn in hell!" and "Repent now!!".  It's like they can't choose whether they want people to grovel before them or have the smug satisfaction of thinking everyone else is going to hell.
Yeah, they're pretty hypocritical like that. "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL. SO REPENT, BECAUSE EVEN IF YOU DO YOU'RE GOING TO HELL." Which is not what I got from the Bible at all.

I would love LAH (Live Action Heavened) TF2.

Zai is very very good!
Heh, not really. While it's possible (though not probable) I'm better than the average TF2 player, I'm not nearly on a competitive level.

You should get on the server more often. Everybody should.

I like all the polycount stuff cept the sniper. That's some delicious irony.
The knife I can understand as it's pretty generic, but the other stuff? The Croc Razorback replacement might have some awesome effects that make the Razorback actually useful and he gets a dart gun! He even gets to have a croc head for a hat! How can you not love that?

Also Chaos Seed, despite it being in moonspeak. Fan translation's close-ish to being finished, though!
Oh shit, really?! I never got anywhere in CS and I didn't understand a lot of what I was doing, but I loved that game.

Other games I love include:
Audiosurf: No other music game has kept my attention for long, but this one keeps me coming back to it. It's great, and it doesn't have a set track list (and you don't have to pay for new songs  ::)).
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War: Definitely one of my favorite games that I've played, and tied for my favorite in the FE series; my favorite SNES FE. It's a class-based TBS where you promote your units, and one that has you influence the characters of the second half of the game by how you play the first in a way that isn't contrived. Only released in Japan but it does have fan translation patches.
Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn (officially FE: Radiant Dawn): While I despise the official English title, this is tied for my favorite in the FE series. I love that they finally brought in third tier classes, something the fans have been using for a long time. While the Beast characters are for the most part useless (something carried over from the game prior to this one). I definitely wouldn't mind if there was a sequel to this sequel, as long as the story wasn't too contrived.
Mount & Blade: Only game I've ever played that's like it is it. It's really great.
Portal: It really is a no-brainer that this is one of the best games I've ever played. Though it is on the short side, it definitely doesn't overdo it's welcome, and I'm hoping the upcoming Portal 2 won't either.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Not quite 4X but something somehow similar. And it's based on an old Chinese novel based on history (which I still need to get)! The RoTK series has had me hooked for about 2 years now. I play 6 on my PSP when I'm away and will play VIII when I'm home.
Sword of the Stars: My favorite 4X game, a genre I only recently delved into. Its backstory is excellent and it provides a good story-making game. I am greatly anticipating SotS2, which should come early next year. I just hope they keep the mechanics the expansions brought that made the first game great.
Team Fortress 2: I've put more time into that game than any other game in my life.
World of Goo: While it doesn't have too much in the way of replayabality, it's a great indie game that actually provides a decent satire.

Ooh, maybe even get the Mutation night idea going that I had a few weeks ago.
That's actually a great idea. What night should it be?
Friday or Saturday might be best. Friday will screwed over once in a while though when Valve Time kicks in with the Mutations. And what time? Something along the lines of 20-22 pm GMT has worked well with TF2 and that suits me well too, as a GMT+2 resident.
Alright. Saturday sounds good to me, as timezone differences matter less over the weekend. We shall have our first DFC Mutation Day tomorrow. Meet in the DFC chat at what should be GMT 20:00 (8 PM GMT). DFC page here.

Whenever it is, I'd like to see some sort of announcement made on the Bay12 steam group.
That's what we were talking about. =P

(Just make sure to plan them in advance - I tend to ignore those "Hey guiz git in here nao!" announcements from the Community group.  :P )
I try to avoid those when I'm making the announcements. But I can't stop those other people!

We'll just have a regular L4D2 (Mutation) Night. Like we (used to) have TF2 Sunday. We could also alternate between L4D and L4D2 if people want to, but people will have to tell me in advance so I can change the events.

[EDIT:]
What mode is that in? The Blog post doesn't say. Is it Versus? I really hope it is.
I was hoping so too, but I dunno. I haven't opened L4D2 yet.
