A question, if there are no crops growing in your immediate vicinity, you have to travel to find them correct?

Yup. You may have to travel far if you're unlucky, I spent a few hours looking for wheat.

which i harvested and replanted, we should be able to start baking soon...mmmm pies!

he guys, unless one of you did something with our cabinet outside the cabin, then it decayed or was stolen.

Nothing TOO valuable in it, but all our tea and linen plus other useful bits.

if you spawned out in the wilds you could be pretty far.

The map linked above is the central map on a 5x5 grid of 25 maps that same size.

best thing to do would be to party up with someone at your destination through the kin system and just do you best to walk it out or maybe use boats, but with no map and twisting rivers that might not be as good as walking.

Another option is to just drown yourself and start over. You really couldnt have that many skills and you can inherit quite a bit what you do have on your new character anyway if you have not changed your personal beliefs too much.

Then again, you may just be enjoying the trek, which is totally what this game is about. Self imposed challenges and emergent gameplay are at tehe top of the fun list here.

didnt your granny teach you? just put a carrot back in the ground to grow a new one. Often you will get 2 or 3 carrots from harvesting one bunch. you drop one back in so you can eat more later.

Also, started a loom and dismantled your bed project. we need linen first and the loom is the next step in that.

Happy New Year! im going to a party so we will get you a backpack in 2010

someone has been eating our carrots and not replanting them. We need to take some measures, unless that was you chris. if it was, THEN REPLANT AT LEAST WHAT YOU EAT!

Hey all, i think joining up with the VIVET peeps is a great idea, and I may make an alt for that sometime.

However if you are the pioneer type and want to be out in the middle of NOWHERE and build a settlement up from scratch, theres a few of us doing just that right now. We dont have any high quality stuff, we are still trying to find wheat but we have hemp and grapes and some other cool stuff going on. Best of all, we rarely see anyone yet so its really feels like a survival experience trying to make ends meet.

anyway, if you interested ask me, cib, or zchris

our little survivalist camp made some nice progress yesterday. We got a good selection of plants in our little garden by exploring far and wide. We found tea and hemp which was HUGE. Next up would be wheat, if we could find wheat we would have a lot of the required staples. Pumpkins would be great too, i like pumpkins.

We had an INSANE bear decide to walk into our camp and repeatedly maul us as we scrambled around planting hemp and putting up fences. That was pretty exciting actually. The whole survivalist feel of starting out in the sticks is great. It's not hard at all, but it is fun.

Apparently we have a neighbor not too far away, havent met them yet, but their palisades have been spotted.

seriously, what are my chances of finding tea growing wild? Where can I find it, any specific biome?

I am waaaaaay the fuck out there and I cant find any other players at all. Not much chance of trading.

I keep wandering out in random directions but so far I have only found relatively useless plants. How often do they spawn/respawn?
