I miss Europe thread. BTW did you note how polite and calm discussions ended when the first serious EU-wide issue appeared?

I said it before, As an islamaphobe (I hope everyone here knows that I believe that Islam should be banned in any civilized country?) and nationalist I should be in a " burn those Arabs with Fire" camp but I am not. I am in "EU should learn to stop ignoring problems with pseudo-tolerance doctrine" camp and sadly European public is failing to do that with some remaining in a world of fairytales and other going straight from the world of fairytales to blatant xenophobia.

PS. New Year events in Germany are very suspicious for me. They look like a well planned provocation.

How does our proposed focus tie in with your new fortress rules?
+1 to the question. It changes things

379
Yes, building the fort deep in own territory, far away from front lines is the best course of action

One more first person review

Seven Kingdoms 2 HD
I think I am the worst person to review it because I hate clickfests called Real time strategy games.

Tutorial is not the usual way I start games but I spent few minutes to get a feel of it. So I need to play as a race of some fantasy creatures called Fryhtans. Here are comes typical conquer human villages to get resource flaw build more units conquer more villages and so on (did I say that I consider RTS strategy genre to be a boring  micromanaging hell?")

Units have an XP bar. Not something I expected to see in a late 90s\early 00s era game. RTSes were rather simple back then.

Units can be promoted to generals and lead their armies. Hm... loyalty attribute for generals? Does this mean they can switch sides? Game looks surprisingly deep. Too lazy to finish the tutorial time to start a campaign.

And here we go.... Developers, do you make player to play as Fryhtans in the tutorial but your campaign has choices between human twelve human kingdoms? It is a weird decision. BTW, can I get some info about the difference between Romans and Chinese or Mongol and Celts? One sentence will be enough. No? OK. Lets go for Normans.

Now I get global map painted in different colours. Must be all those other kingdoms. And the first mission. I am attacked by this fantasy race. All I have to do is beat the first easy mission... I got 4 units producing buildings and 7(I think) resource gathering related buildings to defend. No thanks. I will not micromanage this. *closes the game with alt+f4*

Verdict: It looks like a very good deep game for an RTS genre fan but I am on the different side of the spectre and can't appreciate this classic game.

steal loyalist's rifle (it's a good design that won't get obsolete anytime soon)

I am 99% sure it will obsolete before the end of the turn :D

382
Maybe go for sabotage instead of stealing? Sabotaging loyalists shipyards can make them more vulnerable against pirates.

383
It is a gamble anyway. We don't even know which one is the first and which one is the second.

384
1) Produce more air pistols for one more turn of cavalry superiority
2) Espionage - Steal loyalists's revision (not a credit)
3) Focus one: Build a fort and protected port at the peninsula that was attacked the last time.
4) Focus two: Attack fort Alton from three directions to cut off that bulge near Bradford
5) Offer our brig to USA.
6) Invent some exotic goods for Brits (anyone for the task? We can't give it without a fight)

How about it?
I think air pistols are better than Victoria's because fort Alton cavalry has cheap cavalry weapon.

I think original revision is more likely to be used on rifle and they spent credit on something else (like fixing the failed design of the current turn). And I want the rifle not something else. It will be embarrassing if they'll go for double revision of the rifle and we get the inferior version but I think it is highly unlikely

385
Trying to guess what revision was used for the rifle and what was used for something else (or for second rifle revision) is too risky...

how about:

1) Produce more 8lbs cannons
2) Espionage - Steal loyalists's current turn design
3) Focus one: Build a fort and protected port at the peninsula that was attacked the last time.
4) Focus two: Attack fort Alton from three directions to cut off that bulge near Bradford
5) Offer our brig to USA.
6) Invent some exotic goods for Brits (anyone for the task? We can't give it without a fight)

1) is necessary to not fail badly in land battles and make construction of the fort easier. We are likely to lose ground to monarchy because of our focuses, more artillery should help our defence somewhat.
2) is good because we will get either a) new vessel or b) new logistics project or c) something useful in land battles. Only two bad options here are cavalry weapon (if it is not cheap) and their own uniform design actions. I doubt it is likely. Loyalists are always ambitious so even their failed designs will give us techs.
3 is to deny good landing spot for loyalists and have a base of operation for future reconquest of the sea. (I think revising gunboats can win us our shore back)
4 Is too teach independents a lesson and remove the threat to our city
5 is an obvious step
6 any ideas?

Hm... second thought... Do we even get a benefit from using production credit on 8pounders? they have 2 ore cost.

386
My current plan

1) produce more 8lbs cannons
2) espionage - ???
3) focus one: build a fort and protected port at the peninsula that was attacked the last time.  Use it as a base for regaining over the seas around by using yourktowns for hit and run attacks or boarding and dovers\gunboats to aid guns of the fort should enemy come close.
4) focus two: attack fort Alton from three direction to cut off that bulge near bradford

387
isn't it national effort?

Kashyk, Can we use our spying action to negotiate temporal or permanent alliance with pirates? And\or trading techs with them?

If we go for stealing I prefer to steal loyalist's revision. They are gonna to revise their rifle and it has many techs attached.  Stealing current turn design of any of our enemies is good because they will either design a proper ship (giving us navy for free)  or something to counter our thin land warfare advantage or resource booster.

Stealing steam wagons is useless because they are no better than our current logistics tech

5 ore, 1 wood
*sighs* Exactly what I was afraid of. At least it looks good for offering to USA because unlike us they have no resource problems

We don't obsolete Dover because it is much more cheaper with its 3 ore, 1 wood cost

Next turn we have no other choice but invest in resource extraction and that is when we need better rifle and artillery...

389
New Plan: Renovate 2 rooms+wooden cots, replace the bar using oak, get new tables and chairs, pay the 30 silver tax.

Maybe go unorthodox and buy the stage for 75 gold and save the rest of our money for hiring someone to entertain poor drinkers?
