Well PCzone (One of the two largest UK PC gamers mags) mentioned Dwarf fortress in this issue, and is promising to come next issue with the latest version on its disks, so theres probably been an influx of players from that.

I know thats how I found out.

I usually have several failed attempts abandoned in first 2-3 years, followed by one super fortress that'll last 2-3 decades, then 7-8 more failed fortresses.

he'd sit up in his little tower next to his huge ammo stockpile and shoot any varmit that came close.
