Something quick I made up for the fireball spit, but, might want to look up the vanilla raws and see how they set things on fire over that way... I don't have the vanillas anymore, and I havn't much time to spare!

As excellent an idea this is, I'd love to help with it.

However. Perhaps you should wait for Toady to finish underground civs, first, so that you can make them as awesome as possible.

Otherwise, just make a civ who's biome is subterranean and they siege... that should do it, right?

Introduction

Hey!

First of all, yes, these generators are as simple to use as you can possibly imagine. You run the .exe, you hit the "generate" button. Done.

So, I actually made these generators for my own game, MyWorld. But, since I had to abandon said project, I thought that I may aswell release the generators, seeing as I'm not using them anymore and I've seen some people having problems with some of the subjects of modding, that these generators may help with.
Now, these weren't designed for Dwarf Fortress modding, so they give a little bit of useless information, such as what happens when you eat a plant raw/cooked/bottled, and root colour.
Nethertheless, it may be of use. I have two conditions.

Conditions

1. You absolutely must, MUST, post your first generation of whatever you make! Heh, just for kicks.
2. Just give me a thumbs up / thanks if you do find it useful, in this thread.

Fauna Generator

There are three generators; Land, Aerial and Aquatic. Aquatic generates water-biome creatures, Aerial generates air-based creatures and Land generates land-based creatures.

Land Fauna Generator

As the title suggests, this generator holds fields for land-based creatures, such as # of legs and land-related adjectives.

Fields:
- 3 Adjectives (Notable features) of the creature.
- Colour of the creature.
- # of Legs.
- # of Arms OR tentacles.
- Size.
- Intelligence.

Aerial Fauna Generator

As the title suggests, this generator holds fields for aerial-based creatures.

Fields:
- 3 Adjectives (Notable features) of the creature.
- Colour of the creature.
- # of Legs.
- # of Arms OR tentacles.
- Size.
- Intelligence.

Aquatic Fauna Generator

As the title suggests, this generator holds fields for water-based creatures.

Fields:
- 3 Adjectives (Notable features) of the creature.
- Colour of the creature.
- Size.

Flora Generator

The Flora generator generates... flora. Plants, trees, and so forth. The "Class" of the plant is down to you - I personally go by how long it takes to grow. If it takes <9 months, it's a plant. If >9 months, it's a tree. That's just me, though.

Fields:
- 3 Affects (Eaten: Raw/Cooked/Bottled)
- Taste (Adjective:Taste)
- Smell (Adjective:Smell)
- Colour (Bulb:Stem:Flower)
- Size
- "Time Till Maturely Grown" (Days/Weeks/Months/Years/Decades/Centuries)
- Lifespan; Seed till Death (A number)
Note: Use the above two like "Ten. Days." "Hundred. Centuries." etc.
- Offspring Per Year

Language Generator

This one I've seen people asking for, whilst searching, myself, for a shortcut to making new languages. This generator will generate words four letters long, using Vowel-Consonant patterns.
Read the fields before you hit Generate to see what their rule is - C is "Consonant" and V is "Vowel".
(FYI: Vowels are a-e-i-o-u, whilst Consonants are b-c-d-f-g-etc)
Four boxes generate parts of the word, in two-letter fashions. The outer "result" boxes then take these and put them together.

Spoiler: example (click to show/hide)

Fields:
- VC
- CV
- VC2
- CV2
- VCVC
- CVCV
- CVVC

Disease Generator

Last, but by no means the least, the Disease Generator. I have had many, many good times with this.

I highly suggest you try the generator BEFORE reading the spoiler below, otherwise, it WILL spoil any good times you may be astonished with, by it.

Spoiler: DONTTOUCHTHISYET! (click to show/hide)

Fields:
- 6 Symtoms
- 6 Symptom Strengths
- Length of Contagion (Number:Day/Month/Year) (ie, 45 days, 43 months, 1 year, 1 day, etc)
- Contagiousness
- 3 Spread Patterns

I invite all!

http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/custom/navy/swf/careers/fitness_tool/downloads/Fitness_programme.pdf

Quote from: requirements
Could you join the Royal Navy? If you meet the below fitness target you can!
Work out | Men | Women
Sit-ups | 39 - 53 | 29 - 43
(in 2 minutes) | (in 2 minutes)
Press-ups | 20 - 26 | 17 - 19
(in 2 minutes) | (in 2 minutes)
Run | 2.4km | 2.4km
(in 11 min. 13 secs.) | (in 13 min. 15 secs.)
Bleep Test | 9.10 | 7.03

Huh. Seems I got the run requirements wrong - back to the gym! Will be going after a game of Modern Warfare 2... How can I say no to you, SCAR-H?

Edit;
I'm back! I ran for 60 minutes, having a 1 minute break every 20 minutes to stretch my leg muscles and catch my breath. Shit was so cash.

3.2km in 30 minutes
4.4km in 40 minutes
5.9km in 60 minutes.

(I made the 5.0>5.9 in the last 30-60 seconds)

Lowest speed: 3.6km
Highest speed: 16.2km

Well today, I went for my Induction to the Fitness Room at my local Leisure Center. I ran 3.24km at 5-14 (km/h?), without even a single shot of pain, as opposed to 20 seconds of jogging normally.

Sure, I was lathered in sweat and breathing heavily, but I wasn't lieing in my bed for two hours trying to get over collapsing lungs - like I did monday, heh.

Fitness room is... awesome. I'm going to replace outdoor jogging with it, generally because I last longer with less likeliness of pain and such. In fact, tomorrow is jogging day. It says to do 20 minutes, but I bet I can fit in an hour, at least.

Yeah, yesterday I basically just did muscle training in the leisure center's swimming baths.

Wish I hadn't. Got a mega cramp on the back of my right upper arm whenever I bend my arm more than 50o, or straighten it. I look like C3PO. <Snortgiggle>
On your tricep? From swimming? Craziness.
Did you stretch first?

Yup, in the shower afore I went in. =]

So, is it possible to "engrave" a book with fortress history?

Engraver > Engrave Designation > Egraving
Historian > Engrave at Library Workshop > Historical Tome/Book

Are there any tags that you can grab from, or to immitate, the engraver's job?

My thanks in advance.

You could add a custom reaction which changes the objects name, and uses the engraver skill, but you could not make it record the forts history.

And therein lies the problem. Ah well, thought the Q would be worth a try, just in case. Crafts they will be, then! Artifact Leatherbound Tome. Masterful Poem! Indeed...

There isn't a download yet, still making it... playable. Enjoyable.

As for the recording tomes, that'd be awesome. I wonder if there's a way to do that. Will look into it now. :)

Been busy all day, havn't had a chance to do any work on Cerria. Free day tomorrow though, so I'll get some junk done, then. :]
