General Discussion / Re: Eight Week Work Out
« on: September 28, 2010, 08:21:39 pm »
I didn't expect to do great the first time, but I do have 8 weeks to improve. By week 9, I expect I'll be able to jog at a decent pace...

I seem to have walking, then running. I find finding the "Middle" speed difficult. I build momentum and wind up running - the entire route I take is pretty much on a downward slope, constantly - no matter how small... except for near the start. Like a slide :D

...It's late, again.

DF Modding / Why can't my creature stand?
« on: September 28, 2010, 02:15:53 pm »
This is something I can usually handle, but this has my perplexed!
I've pretty much copy pasted the humanoid across, minus the arms, addition the tentacles.

When I spawn the creature in the arena, the yellow background tile appears for it. Upon [assume control] and z-screening his status, he is on the floor and can't get up, flashing +

Ugh, I only seem to notice the problem after posting. I even scanned the body before posting, and it stood out at me after posting. Apologies for the wasted topic.

Oddly, my other creature didn't need the lower and upper body to be connected...

My god; this Modding Section fills so fast! I didn't update for one day, and it was pushed half-way down Page 3! Insane.

I'm thinking of having a release once I've finished the Ghul language, or after I've added some fauna/flora. Thoughts?

Not really, as I can run 3000 meters in 12 minutes.
With enough practice, you can run pretty durn fast. The thing is though, about aerobic fitness, you have to work out every day. A common saying is that for every two weeks you miss, you lose a month of training.

My record for the two mile (3200m) is 11:41, personally.

Then I will aim to defeat thee! First, I need a fucking running track ! Eugh!! They knocked down the local stadium last year, and there isn't a running track for MILES around now. I've gotta run on a cardio machine, which definetly isn't the same =[

Very informative. Had a quick scan, will check it out tonight. :)

For the record, I've been eating healthily for quite a while now. Water, weetabix, sandwiches, cooked meal, no fizzy drinks, no acidy food, the occasional pizza a week and such. Now that i'm dieting, I'm following the same thing, exception of the pizza, and i'm suddenly feeling like I need more food.

Derp.

Keep in mind that i've spent the last year or so spending 90% of my time on my ass, on this computer. Really, I'm suprised i'm not obese... I mean, REALLY obese.

Anywho. did my first strength training just now;

Press Ups: 5-10 x 3 sets.
Dorsal Raise: 10-15 x 3 sets.
Sit Ups:  10-15 x 3 sets.

I did;
P, D, S
15, 15, 1
15, 15, 4,
15, 15, 0.

Now my arms are shaking, but, eyes on the prize! Swimming tomorrow, then rest day. :)

I remember going to sleep once, one night, and within ten seconds of closing my eyes, I saw a demon pacing to and fro. I asked who he was, no answer. I shouted who he was, demanding an answer. He stopped, looked at me as if he'd only just noticed me, and scratched my face. I woke up with a gasp and my face feeling hurt.

Was pretty creepy. I'm just amazed at this event that I had no preconceptions of, happening so quickly of closing my eyes.

LOL Oops. I looked it up on my printed stuff... 12.48, not 1.48.

As I said, I was rather sleepy at the time of writing :P

Yeah, that was quite a mess... I was pretty tired.

I'm basically doing an 8 week work out to get into the Royal Navy and through their fitness test.

It comes with a diet plan, so no worries... It's not that far from what I normally eat, anyway! Weetabix, pasta and fish sandwiches. All I need to change is from white to brown.
I don't really eat much else. xD

Hey Inte, I remember you from that Forum Game! :3

Anywho, I used to be just like you - if not worse - with women. But, looking back, it was really pathetic.

Suck in, stop being a pussy, and blurt it out if you're too scared to ask.
Deep breath, spit it out as fast as you can. Close your eyes if you have too.

I used to have such confidence issues. I fixed myself and worked my way out ofi t.

I actually got locked in my dream whilst fully awake a couple of months ago...

Was working away in Scotland, was in the hotel room with my buddy who I was working with. Was about 8/9pm, I decided to meditate whilst he read a book.

After a concentrating on each part of my body, from toes to forehead, and deep breathing, I felt like I was falling back. I recognised this as the feeling I follow to fall asleep, so I thought that I may aswell go to sleep, get up early tomorrow.
Instead, I kept falling and falling, I got dizzier and dizzier. I got worried and decided to break it off. I tried to get up, and I was moving megaslowly. I raised my arm, and it felt really heavy. I was trying to signal to my buddy that I was stuck.
I was in an imaginary version of the hotel room, I was looking around and trying to lift my arm - albeit slowly - whilst I could see my buddy reading his book, flipping the page.
When he did flip the page, it sounded so, so, SO loud! Like a plane wing screeching along the floor at full speed for a moment, echoing.
I nearly panicked, but calmed down. I remembered in movies and such how in hypnosis, they'd count backwards to wake the person up. I declared that counting backwards from 5 would wake me up. I counted backwards, I shot up in a sitting position gasping for air.

===================

This is a WARNING. After reading this up on the internet, it turns out I entered one of the deepest meditational states. These are difficult to attain and even moreso to wake up from and should not be attempted by the inexperienced.

If I had let myself panic, I might not of woken up. It's happened; people going into meditation and not waking up.

But, on the other hand, using this deepest state, you can travel back into previous lives and have out-of-body experiences - which is probably what I was having by looking around in my mind.

This thread:

And thus, the Carp Men were born and easily destroyed the Bat men, Serpent Men, and so forth.

Also, Scamps? Found him on my bed.
