So lessee - one bunch of fluff says that the Outsider C'tan went batshit after the Deceiver C'tan tricked him into eating other C'tan.

The other bunch of fluff says the Eldar Laughing God tricked the Nightbringer C'tan into eating other C'tan, but he didn't go insane.

...Knowing WH40K, both of these are correct  ;D

All of that is right, apart from the Eldar God bit. It seems the only contact the Eldar Gods had with the C'tan was their Laughing God, who may or may not have (it was him or the Deceiver) been the one who tricked the Nightbringer/Outsider (confusion on that one too) into eating other C'Tan.

The Eldar Gods all got owned when the Eldar descended into decadence and Slaanesh arrived, barring aforementioned Laughing God and the Goddess of healing, who gets used as Nurgle's test dummy for all of his plagues.

I assume you could use a define. I think the syntax is #define [shorthand name] [proper code]

That searches for all the [shorthand name]s in your code and replaces it with the [proper code] which could save some time. Not sure it would work or if it's the right syntax, but, hey, worth a try.

Although the Lexicanum says the Emperor used his genetic material, it also said they were genetically engineered - I don't think they were exact copies.

Also, it appears that the Primarchs got scattered when the forces of Chaos found them, prior to their maturing. Given that the forces of Chaos were messing with them during childhood, I'm surprised only half got corrupted later on.

EDIT: Does it count as childhood when you're growing inside a tank? Still, my point stands. Also, whatever happned to the two Unknown Primarchs must've been pretty bad - they were deleted from archives BEFORE the Horus Heresy.

Have you looked at Libtcod? It's made with game designers in mind, and it's got lots of support for colours. (I cannibalised the old ASCII Dungeon code and turned it into Libtcod, never went anywhere with it though)

And no, the Star Child is not related to the the Sensei (the name for the Emperor's Children, where'd you get the infertile idea from?)

They have literally no presence in the warp, so the Emperor and other psykers can't sense them, as well as being immune to the beings of Chaos. They are also rebellious at heart, and so are seen as a threat by the Imperium. The Inquisition hunts them down and tries to kill them, seeing them as heretics. As I said before, the Illuminati protect the Sensei, telling them it's for the final battle against Chaos. In reality, they want to sacrifice them all to the Emperor at once, rebirthing him as the Sensei Emperor. The Sensei do pop up here and there, leading various rebellions (or so the Lexicanum tells me).

I just beat that pain-in-the-ass ghost level on Kaizo World - despite nearly savestating myself into a position of DOOM.

And I'm using a KEYBOARD. ;D

You forgot the third option Ampersand. ;)

OR Cut off from the other planets of the Imperium, and from reinforcements, the human race is slowly destroyed by the other warring myriad races in the galaxy, the negative emotions produced tearing the Universe ANOTHER warp rift and birthing another Chaos God. (God of Sorrow, anyone? Or is that taken?) Of course, some people believe the Emperor will reincarnate as the 'Star Child' and neutralise Chaos once and for all, but the first one has more GRIMDARK.

Wow. It's funny to see all the stuff you came up with AFTER I took Neruz's advice and went on a Lexicanum trawl.

I still need to look at the history for most of the races, but, man, is the Imperium screwed. Also, everything is the Eldar's, and the Necrontyr's, fault.

The Necrontyr's petty war with the Old Ones was what created the first bad warp things.

And the Eldar were so bad they tore the universe a new a-hole, which also had the effect of creating a new God of Chaos.

Da EMPRAH was immortal, and supposedly born from the combined souls of all the shamans (who were trying to avoid being eaten by warp-things when they tried to reincarnate). The Golden Throne was originally a teleporter-thing to traverse the webway, and yes, it does have irreparable faults. Should the WH40K plot ever advance, the Emperor will die, and mankind will soon fall to Chaos, tearing the universe apart AGAIN, and birthing a fifth (sixth?) Chaos God. Of course, he apparently had children during his 10,000 year or so lifetime, who are also immortal, and one nefarious dude plans on sacrificing them to the Emperor to try and revive him. All fun stuff.

Now to have a look-see at how the other races are shafted...

This is why I love WH40K!

But you just said you'd argue with him!

And I'm pretty sure the catfish was a metaphor, for, well, you. But it turned into a literal catfish somewhere along the lines.

There. One argumentative statement and one actual clear-headed clarification. I'll try to reduce the first and increase the latter, but it's HARD. I've got nothing better to do, after all.

My only experience with WH40K is from the DOW video game, and the bits of fluff you guys mention.

I get very confused about all this Primarch & Emperor fluff. Who are the Primarchs? And what is the Emperor, and what's his backstory? I could look on the wiki, but you guys can probably give me a nice condensed version. WH40K is awesome just for the fluff.

Oh, and if I ever played, I'd be Necrons or Tyranids.

And? What's the point of informing the catfish if it won't change anything?

I get the feeling none of us is understanding the others.

And from now on, I post here only if it's REALLY NECESSARY or if we need a mediator.

And yet you still left out a space :P

And I generally don't edit my posts as much as I should, I'm just lucky enough to have a dictionary in my brain.

God has a big thing for people choosing to follow him, and do the right thing, of their own free will. If he just appears in front of people and tells them exactly what they need to do to live the perfect life, there's little choice, because, after all, you're not gonna argue with God.

I'm angry Kaizo World screwed me over and forgot that I reached the midpoint, on that 3rd/4th level with the magma wghere you basically HAVE TO DIE AND COME BACK AT THE MIDPOINT. I was doing so well, too.
