Well what did you expect of someone who married a bloody templar? For them to be kind and loveing and free of rules and restrictions? I don't have the game myself yet but been watching some Blind(obviously) LPs of it, it seems fun and enjoyable.

She's a great character, and she has great lines. It's just, if you try to be nice to her, it usually gives her rivalry instead. I should've been more abusive towards her. She is a masochist warrior after all.

I just beat this game and I had a -lot- of fun. Took me about 30 hours as a mage, and now I'm left with a burning desire to play the other two classes. I'm surprised by how -different- the game can be depending on the choices you make.

One thing I liked was how they implemented your "family". Bethany and Carver were actually likable! I actually felt bad when your mother reprimands you for putting your siblings in danger.

All in all, the experience in DA2 feels a lot more intimate and personal. I don't have to worry about my ultimate destiny and/or surviving it (as in DA:O). I just wish the conversation choices weren't so ambiguous... Anytime I said something, Aveline would take the wrong way. She still ended up being my friend, but gods, the woman is a hard-headed bitch.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Confessions of a DF player.

Metal working is the last industry I develop because I just don't find metallurgy that interesting. When I'm desperate for tools, I wait and trade for them. I outfit my dwarven army with leather armour and crossbows.

Elona has some epic weapons. I stumbled across the remains of an adventurer who was killed while carrying a certain magical sword. I had it identified, and thought it was cool that the sword was named after the end of the world.

I equipped it immediately, and well, it was Fun. :D

General Discussion / Re: Marijuana:Should it be legalized?

Legalise it!

I live in Vancouver, and marijuana is pretty much legal anyways. Depending where you are, cops won't even bat an eye. If they do mind, they won't arrest you; just confiscate your pot. Who knows what they do with it. :P

Nethergate: Resurrection

It's set in the British Isles during the Roman Conquest. You have the choice of playing a party of celtic tribesmen with magic, or roman soldiers with technology. The two sides have different storylines and also differing play styles because technology (high-end weapons and armor) interferes with magic. The Celts get healing magic, barbarian rage and various spells while the Romans have to rely upon skill.

Because the two factions are diametrically opposed (and at war with each other), you also get two different endings if you want to play through the game twice. :D Yay replay value.

General Discussion / Re: Canadians! Stop this!

Information.

With the new Bill C-32, the corporates yet again try to curtail freedoms in order to generate more profit.
I'm going to ask all Canadians to sign this here :P: Online petition.

I can only hope for you guys.

Uhm. I don't think the petition is related to bill C-32. The petition is about usage-based billing and is related to a CRTC decision, not federal legislation. I'm opposed to the new copyright bill, but Internet Metering makes me super angry which is why I signed this petition a few days ago.

On the NDS there's Lost in the Blue I&II. They're really not good games, they're really hard because they're both micromanagement hell. But you wanted survival sims... :S

Damn. I just wasted money.  I bought a full month subscription and I only played the game for 10 minutes before I quit in disgust. This game's so terribad I felt physically sick.

Moral of this post: Buy the trial subscription first!

I'm in the beta and this game is so much fun. I tried playing it like WoW at first, accepting quests and then running around and trying to complete them but I just couldn't stay focused on them because the dynamic content was so much more fun. The public quests also drop some nice loot as well, making it feasible to just run around and take part in them exclusively rather than finishing dull fetch quests.

A minor qualm of mine, is that those public quests truly are public. I arrived at an "invasion" before anyone else did and was promptly one-shotted and killed. :S

160 bucks for a Big Mac by 2020? Where the heck are they pulling these numbers from? Next thing you know, McDonalds'll catch a whiff of that and start calling their foods "gourmet."

I dunno. Hear about the lawsuit in the US against Taco Bell? Apparently, their "taco filling" is less than 40% beef. Totally disgusting. I'd rather eat  bug burger that's filled with 100% insect than a beef burger with hardly any beef. x_x

If the prices of meat don't rise, the only alternative for businesses is to use less meat. Preferably without consumers finding out.

Europa Universalis III. You are the home nation.

Better yet, try the Magna Mundi mod for EUIII. It has colonization, and if you treat your new colonies poorly they can secede and form new nations. The only drawback, is that if you want to colonize the new world, you have to do so as one of the nations which historically did so. You can't make a colonial Ethiopian empire. :P

I have an ATI card and it works fine. I think the card needs to be DX11 compatible or something.
