my hammerdwarf bashed the body of a hoarmy marmot so hard, the body flew off in a bloody arc, leaving all but 1 limb in a pile on the ground

what epic success have your dwarves achieved lately?

soap is a *base* 25, times the modvalue (1 for hoary marmots, 50 for dragons) basically any  really large predator makes 5-10 blocks worth more than platinum blocks

elephants, and many other less fatty animals are decent at 75 per block
unicorn tallow makes 250, which is worth more than platinum
dragon tallow makes 1250, and is one of the few actually worth making a soap industry to exploit

note that soap making requires:
sand(to start), lye(from wood or trade) and tallow

1 tallow and 1 lye make 1 block, but the lye must be moved from a bucket to barrel
(i don't know what task makes em do it)

digging such a long trench in a magma pipe drains the top layer
while moving, it can evaporate in any depth

only if you increase managment for dwarves with 500+dwarves^2
the beginning takes alot, but the end has more workers than you can possibly keep running efficiently, thats why big standing armies become the norm , after initial micro to arm up they're good to sparr forever

build lots and lots of wealth(5m might get some fantastic sieges)
note that the more effectively you destroy them, the longer it takes them to return

on second examination, its actually a giant inland lake, certain parts freeze earlier while others don't, or not as quickly.
also, the rain, and green level forest and beach might have been a hint...
less obviously the blue tiles indicating my dwarves navigating to the island

its probably been abandoned due to the excessive amount of minerals 90% functionally identical to copper, bronze, iron and steel
or rather, not significantly diffrent.

it only takes a single legendary to strip mine an entire 20x20 layer of mountain in a year(400 stone)
strip mining to flatten stuff is why i have too much stone, its my own damn fault
