Power outage and a raging hurricane sounds like the perfect time to play Penumbra or Amnesia, or perhaps Undying. That would require a decent gaming laptop and like a few spare batteries though.

Watching newscasts from the US today is like watching endless reruns of Deep Impact. East coast governors must have practiced their "strong, yet compassionate" facial expressions for months just for an event like this.

I've discovered the saddest webcomic. That's a reasonably representative sample, I am thinking.

Why can't I stop laughing at these things.

EDIT: I take it back, the only possible response here is "D'awwww"

This thing is fascinating. It's a bit of a roller coaster though. Some are abysmally sad while others are hilarious.

Larry Laffer and Space Quest expanded my english vocabulary with many useful words.

I'm sure Norwegians have found that funny, but I actually can't spot the joke, but a lot of the sketches they do are not rooted in reality so I guess that's why I don't think they're funny :/ Come on, Denmark is full of real fail to make fun of.

Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrGIhrs3HkI&feature=related

Wasn't much of a joke in the one I posted, but it was thematically relevant :)

We have local elections this year, first one since I moved to this city, so I have no idea who the candidates are or even what issues they like to worry about in public. Can't even think of any issues that bother me much. Daycare prices? Nah. Retirement homes? Not yet. Roads and transportation? Maybe, but none of them have any good solutions anyway.

Also church parish and bishopric council elections. I'm only a member of the church so I can sabotage these. So few bother to vote in them that you get noticeable influence on the result, and I always pick the candidates with extremely liberal positions or otherwise likely to throw wrenches into the cogs. The little old ladies looked stunned when I delivered my ballot last time, they're not used to anyone under the age of 70 showing up.

It's election time in Denmark. Finally, we can install a more left-wing government. Victory to the reds!

Request: Short report on the major political parties involved
Optional: Polling data

I'll try and see what I can do later today once I get back from uni.

Just a short story about the political struggle is fine, thank you :P

Very shortly I'd put it as such: Liberals controlled by racists vs Socialists controlled by Liberals :/ Unless we're really lucky and get a completely red victory, but as it is it seems we'll need Radikale Venstre to make a majority government.

Reposting to see if anyone has a clue on this...http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=37043.msg2557356#msg2557356

Take care,

Haven't played it, but I guess it could be this? Or one of the two remakes.

I have no idea who that is, though I recognize the face.
Doctor Doogie.

The provision is still there. They've merely said they'll only use it to delete "inappropriate" accounts. In other words, they reserve the right but promise not to use it.

It's only natural. You're a consumer and thus an enemy trying to keep well deserved money away from the publishers.

Isn't there also some term in the Origin EULA that if you don't log into your account for two years they'll delete it?

My grandfather set up a savings account in my name when I was born and made a deposit to it every birthday and christmas. He was a thoughtful and quiet man (didn't help that WWII handed him an injury that slowly destroyed his hearing) who never preached or admonished, but I think he wanted to make a simple point to his grandchildren by doing this.

I wonder if I still have the bank book with all his deposit entries somewhere. The bank switched to a fully electronic system in the mid nineties (and after my grandfather died) so it wasn't really useful afterwards, but it would be a nice memorabilia. Haven't thought about that before.

Got a hair cut today. Every time there's just a little less hair left than last time.

But it doesn't bother me at all. I have no complexes whatsoever about hair loss. None at all. No ho ho hoho hahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHH

*sigh*

You should just figure out a way to clone Bernie Sanders.

Al-Jazeera has this uncanny ability to sneak a camera into just the right places: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTRF1WSDAAA
Clear overview of the contested area (at the time) and a pretty unique shot of Gaddafi loyalists holed up in a guest house and lugging away what I guess is either ammo, incriminating paperwork or dollars.

Already outdated though. The Rixos hotel has been evacuated, and the fighting has moved further south of the city.
