(Very Hard ) (2,1)-2 =1  Utter(est) failure
You go scavenging for the source of that invisible armour being talked about. It only takes a few deaths and explosions before you determine the component that can generate such an effect and find an intact one on the divine temple.

As far as working, it works. It is not quite invisible, giving a faint blue colour to the air around the edge of it. It seems to be in a weakened state: it resists damage, but at some point it yields and starts to overheat. It is theorized that it might do so explosively, but you haven’t tested it that far. You have some dials allowing to change the area a bit.

The Akhet shield is a giant monolithical structure as tall as the temple itself shaped like an ankh. It can be controlled and powered from the ship it was found on, providing significant protection to Memphis in case of siege. It is also a giant monolithical structure larger than the door of the temple and way beyond your lifting capabilities, integrated with the ship and absolutely immobile.
Maybe you will have success searching the armouries for personal sized ones next time. But at least you already know how to operate dials.

The best, strongest, most well behaved and largest Aetokos weren’t actually sent to war. Rather, they were kept for breeding, and it is now giving fruit with the second generation of Aetokos reaching the age to serve as mounts. While it is no revolution, performance is generally improved. Much more noticeable is the rest of the programme: knowing the realities of the battlefield, the tactics and dangers needed, the weaknesses and strengths of aetokos, now you can actually train them to behave as effectively and orderly as human soldiers. Well, almost. You practice with fake explosions to simulate the battlefield and dampen their fear reactions, you teach them discipline, and you practice mounted tactics.

Of course, training and conditioning is helped by a bird-adapted version of equipment, including more suitable bows and spears and most importantly a bird sized version of armour, which you can only afford thanks to the increased output of mines. Here dawns the age of heavy Birbvalry.

Well, so far the apocalypse doesn't seem bad, and I am drained.

Tellus rests

Food is important, but the mountains are on the coast. Not as plentiful, but we will eat. However, a land without coal is a delayed death sentence. We will need coal to survive.

We would reach Prince Charles mountains with 4 tons of coal left in reserve. Adding 4 more from the hold, that would make 8 total. Might be enough to locate a coal vein.

Coal seems like the hardest thing to replenish, and we will need to burn a lot of it to operate the ship, the equipment and to stay warm. Mt. Erebus seems a death sentence: a march in antartic winter without proper equipment? makes the Katzar's current situation feel like heaven. And we will be far from food, which is also important.

no, I say that we should strive to reach Prince CHarles Mountains, Although I'd like a quote of how much coal we will have left, if any, by then.

I think decomplexing radar is needed. It has been waiting far too long, and the problems from our lack of airborne radar have been noted often.

Also, I think we shouldn't insist much on jungle design: if they attack, we will fight in the desert.
and if we fight in the desert loaded for jungle, while they prepared accordingly, we may well lose.

Tellus Draws copper and tin, and some of the finest iron from the Earth. Then he shapes them: sharp feathers of bronze, and cogs and wheels, machinery of all kind. Of steel, he makes strong talons and a piercing beak. From his work, a figure emerges of a massive bird, majestic, strong, hardy. And yet, still missing a spark of life. Being a bird, what could animate it better than a soul created by Keerim, the god of birds? Tellus takes this energy of life and breathes it in his creation; soon, it starts to move and awaken.

"Go, Stymphalus, guardian of bronze, mightiest of birds. Go to the floating islands, where the Aglejo live. Make your nest there, protect the islands and their inhabitants from danger and serve them to the best of your ability. This is your task, the will of your creators."

Keerim, it is time to build a mighty beast of protection. Here is my proposal:

You almost make me sorry for kicking you off the ship piratejoe.

However, I do actually think that the katzar surrendering himself is the best way to get out of this intact. The alternative is trying to take 2 fully armed warships on a floating wreck with civilians and 200 rifles. That, or hoping they aren't willing to attack us to get to you.

I mean, sure, if we won the boarding and conquered one of those ships we would make a leap in capabilities. But chances are we would just lose a lot, or everything.

The katzar voluntarily and peacefully turns himself to Forenians for the good of his people, negotiating for supplies on the way.

He is old and wheelchair bound anyway. He will live longer in Forenia than in Antartica anyway, even with execution being likely.

Hm. I wanted to build an artifact casting mould, but the reminder that it will only be 2 turns until the undead apocalypse is worrying... the Aglejo might need a guardian, they don't have a military.

Keerim, would you be willing to pool our powers to craft a powerful creature to protect our followers from the terror that is coming?

Cargo drop plan B
-Eat 2 cows (2 tons)
-Eat 20 goats (1 ton)
-2000 rations (2 tons)
-10 tons of coal

I would edit it as eat/drop on the livestock and rations, since we don't know how much food we get by butchering (I think).

As for why we have livestock, madman, the reason is simple: Piratejoe picked the loadout. And yes, it is a terrible idea, hence why it is the first thing we want to dump.

Grizzly Mk2
This new version of the grizzly refines our best weapon in a more modern form, in many ways.

The simplest improvement is the implementation of CAT in the design phase: it is no longer sized to allow a standing human to move freely in the piloting area, but rather it assumes that it can be piloted by brain activity only, and the pilot cavity is reduced to the size of a crouching human, with space for entering and exiting only.

Then electrogel is slightly modified to make it better suited for battery like operations , with fast-ish recharge not requiring standing perfectly still for the better part of a day. With this achieved, the conventional battery pack is removed and replaced with a denser and lighter electrogel reservoir allowing longer duration operations.

Both those changes significantly reduce the bulk of the grizzly, necessitating less metal for its contruction. But its function is also improved, especially in the controls.

A new brain interface is developed with the use of a modified electrogel called Neurogel, which doesn't generate power but has far larger compatibility with human biology and especially neurons, permitting greater data transfer with comparatively less surgery. With links to occipital and temporal lobes (because reducing surgery was never the goal), it can accept sensor data and transmit directly into the brain. Grizzly MK2 tehrefore comes with a full sensor suit, with wide angle cameras ranging from ultraviolet to infrared and microphones including a system based on the Earth ear to detect through the ground the sound of enemies moving.Tactile feedback is also improved with more electrogel pads located in the armour and finer damage reports are provided. Overall, situational awareness is unmatched.

To add to all this, a small computer is added performing ballistic calculations on the weapons mounted on the grizzly, be them autocannons, rockets or mortars. The results are displayed as an overlay on the screen, using earth ear holographic technology. With our experience with ORACLE-A it should not be hard to achieve.

Any spare time still left should be dedicated to refining the mech to achieve generally higher quality in its movement, response, strength.

Reducing cost from smaller size and lack of conventional batteries is a primary goal.

Now, as for voting, of the designs I proposed so far I am partial to the COMMANDER. We almost tied in the mountains thanks to it, and that is despite its scope being small and the frequency of use being limited. Expand it to full battlefield strategic scope, and give it the power to work full time or almost, and we can finally show Aratam what it feels like to be on the receiving end of precognition. Plus, it would give us the definitive man machine interface for future projects.
