Bunnies shouldn't just spontaneously turn into beasts, that's silly. Any changes need to be gradual and preferably have more to do with their temper, otherwise you might as well spawn stuff out of thin air

I don't much care for the gods throwing a hissy fit over any of this. A dragonfly god of fertility does not strike fear in my heart. If anything I'd roll my eyes if the game expected me to take deities like that seriously. Wonder if it'll be possible to mod them into being plain imaginary

Does that only work on hostile creatures or all of them? That is, does making your dwarf guard the dining room somehow give him the eyes of a hawk?

Seems kind of silly to have a skill of seeing the obvious. It's not a pillbug, it's a damn man-sized goblin tippy-toeing down the bridge in plain view

I think automation should be handled with the work orders system. That includes any "repeat until out of material" orders. While needing a bit of fleshing out, it's a bit underutilized as is

You know, if all the water is so cruddy it leaves mud everywhere, maybe the issue isn't keeping the floor clean. How do you expect anyone to brew high quality drinks out of crap that looks like it came from a rainwater puddle?

I for one rather like the dabbling skill level. It's quirky, and not terribly important, but it clearly separates who's got serious knowledge, and who's just playing around. I think it might become a little more vital once teaching other dwarfs comes in.

Being grabbed in the wrist by a wayward goblin and immediately wresting yourself free and fleeing shouldn't make you dabbling in anything. As is, it's just spam in your skill list that never gets cleared even if the dwarf never fights anything ever again.

It needs to do something. If nothing else, affect thoughts. Having done something once before might remove hesitations somewhat etc

Greed as a motivation goes right into the crapper if the metal makes you mad. It steals it of all it's value and pretty much gives you no reason to mine any at all. The effects need to be more or less subtle, something akin to what I described before for the scenario is to work at all

Sea salt makes for a decent good to export once salt water evaporation starts leaving it behind. Mind you, evaporation is too fast right now, it's really a warm climate industry unless fuel is available

Question is, is there any period methods of desalination?

Scratching the itching wound doesn't help, it just makes things worse. Logically, any fort population that was gripped by the metal's influence and decided to seal off the pits would likely just leave the now accursed fort if life gets too difficult to deal with
