"The War of Abbeymace"

Truly, the greatest conflict ever to rock the Eternal Universe. 6 civilization, the elves, most of the dwarves(Aside from one civilization consisting of 2 fortresses), and seven human towns were annihilated. The bloodshed was so great, and so many died, that the world was literally empty of life in the NW corner of the map, which at one time had been home to 3 of the civilizations. And what was the war ABOUT?!

About a stolen item.

A sock.

Truly a war befitting Dwarf Fortress.  I'm going to assume the Dwarves started it, because it's funnier that way.

God, it was just a spiraling chain of someone randomly attacking someone else.

But it was a Dwarf.

No.

Titan should take on the skamels and the gobbos, and then Rick should take on the Titan.

Bonus points is the Titan equips a shield and socks.

Also, it was probably his throat getting slashed out.

If that was the case, it would say that he would bled to death. Having your throat slashed out in DF strangely does not cause bleeding problems.

In my recent fortress, I had a mother and a father happily married. The Father was an elite marks dwarf, the mother a wonderful fisher dwarf. They had two children together.

So, one day, when the mother is out fishing, the elves appear. And then the Goblins appear too. A bolt strikes the mother and wounds her gravely while she drops her child (The elder child had been snatched. Whoops). The Father, being the only one of the marksdwarves not eating or drinking at the time rushes out to help his wife in combat. He strikes down many a goblin before running out of bolts and engages the goblins in mortal combat. He strikes down two goblins, mortally wounds the other, who then mortal wounds him. He died shortly afterward.

It's been about a year now. The wife just recovered from her wounds. The baby tossed himself into a pond (Surprisingly). And now, the wife is the only survivor of a happy family.

Dunno. But that truly was epic.

What the hell is his tomb like?

Oh yeah, and you've been elevated back to 'Lustful'.

Go Shoruke Go!

Teasing me with a promised recording and then no recording is really not cool.

I no longer lust for you Shoruke. But I still love you.

However, your sentence will be 99 hammerblows.

*I'm kidding. But serouisly, FIX THE LINK.*

So what? Take the merchants stuff, kill the donkeys, and kill the impending human siege/elven/ goblin (If that strange thing should happen to you) siege.

This IS dwarf fortress after all.

Ok, consider.

If you can stop a Goblin ambush, you can stop an elven siege. Elves come armed with WOODEN weapons, WOODEN bolts, and NO armor. Even if you get sieges, it'll be a COMPLETE cakewalk for you military, and just more bones to donate to "Bones for Bolts" program.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Dwarven Superweapons!!!
« on: November 24, 2008, 10:07:02 pm »
What kind of dwarven superweapons do you build? A superweapon is a weapon that kills everything and then kills some more. A basic example would be flooding the world with magma or collapsing the whole top z.

Well....Not really. My most overpowered weapon ever was the atom smasher drawbridges...but that's that.

Then, there's that giant arrow I used to destroy the fort. THAT was epic.

I've been buying and breeding every species of animal I can get my hands on and so far have a total of 2190 animals, and I'm going to drop them all at once from a platform on the second-highest z-level of my map, which is 20 levels above the ground.

Does that sort of count as a kind of twisted megaproject?

Trying to get into the fastfood busniess?

Nope. Just wants his dwarves to eat *Donkey Biscuits* for the rest of time.

We need to gather up the GCS clothes to sustain our conspicuous consumption lifestyle, but one of my engravers recently carved "NO BLOOD FOR GOLDEN SALVE" in a hallway.

You,sir, win.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Argh! Elves or hauling?
« on: November 20, 2008, 10:40:31 pm »
Hi. Recently, the horrible dwarf eating elves arrived to trade. But, then the goblins showed up going after a random fisher dwarf, who ended up dying pretty quick. The champion marksdwarves then showed up and quickly emptied all their quivers into them, before running out of ammo and bludgeoning a few to death. So now, I have a dilema. Barricade/trade with the elves or haul all of my dead dwarves/goblins and crap inside...I'm wondering what I should do?
