The deckhand that replaced me was this cowboy dude who was as wide as he was tall.  The dude could lift an 80-pound generator battery with one hand, and I guess that made up for his total inability to read, write, or do basic math.

That sounds exactly like my father's business. You see, he owns this small window shade business that's been decently successful for a number of years, and I've worked many a summer in his factory. Let me tell you, that sounds exactly like the average worker there. They're all the same. They vote Republican, hate black people, can barely read the front page of the newspaper, and can lift and move a 70 pound barrel full of metal parts.

Oh, and did I mention they all have mullets?

Heh. What are you going to do with an adventure with just a right upper arm?

My niece has a fetish for Anime.

I really don't see what's so fun to watch about chicks with large breasts having unusual reactions to some pretty regular stuff. In reality, it seems more pornographic.

Though, I gotta admit that chick on Hellsing had rather large ones. Maybe it's just me, but when the main attraction of your cartoon is the pornography value of it, something is wrong.

The only way to solve the piracy problems in Somalia, is to solve the economic problem. I know, bloody impossible, but that's the only way things going to work, short of nuking Mogadishu, which would be a huge waste of resources, life, and have some pretty big consequences.

That's awesome.  I've never seen any eye wounds other than dark grey, do eye injuries heal?

Never. The poor guy is a blind craftsdwarf.

He's getting used to tragedy.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Underwater Fortresses.

Just remember, that if the fortress is breached at any point whatsoever, that is deep enough under the water, the flooding will be almost instantaneous. Attempts to control the flooding by hitting the emergency floodgates will fail miserably.

Though, the geyser that will erupt from your fortress will be truly epic.

I had a siege. No problem, really, so I sent out my new swordsdwarf squad, freshly trained and equipped with the new stuff I had made for them.

Well, I missed something. This wasn't a normal siege. This was a Bowman siege.

So, immediately after I sent them screaming toward them, I realized that Oh shit! Bowmen!, so I got all of my marksdwarves up there to fight with them. Meanwhile, I zipped back to my swordsdwarf. Of a squad of 6, 3 were dead corpses, 1 was being pin cushioned (He would survive to fight again), 1 had had his heart pierced with a bolt(He,actually, made it long enough to be dragged back to his bed before bleeding out), and another dwarf was lying on the ground.

His right upper leg was a yellow wound, causing him to fall over, but BOTH of his eyes were red. So, I look in his inventory and lo and behold, he has 2 iron bolts, stuck in his eyeballs.

General Discussion / Re: Conservatives for REAL change
« on: April 10, 2009, 07:58:45 pm »
I consider myself a conservative, but I'm dissociated from 90% of the so-called "conservatives" in this country.  I consider Fox News to be mostly ignorant propaganda, and I'm horrified at what the neocons and theocons did to my country for the past eight years.  I'm a conservative, but I voted for Obama because I was horrified that McCain used Karl Rove and picked Sarah Palin.

Most "conservatives" think Reagan belongs on Mount Rushmore.  I jokingly think he was the antiChrist.  Melding the Republican party to the hypocrites in the Moral Majority was the worst thing that ever happened to conservatism.

Conservatives need to put down the organized religion and the dehumanization of anybody who doesn't agree with them.  We need to disown hypocrites like Limbaugh and Hannity and we need to lynch Ann Coulter on live TV.  We need open dialogue, not calling anybody to the left of us "socialists".  We need to be the party of Bill Buckley, not Bill O'Reilly.  Otherwise the liberals are going to keep winning elections until the GOP is dead and in its grave.

Holy crap. I agreed with everything you said in character. The Republican party needs to pick up common sense, instead of accusing everyone of supporting Satan and communism.

I just don't think we should be a Conservative nation after watching Xenophobic News. Opps, I mean Fox News.

If by 'change' you mean 'saying no to EVERYTHING' then yes conservatives support change.

way to avoid intelligent discourse and quote the DNC propaganda machine.

America wants change for BS politics of the past, like cronyism, pork barrel projects, useless congressional bill riders, compromise of important issues to meaninglessness, congressional lies (tax evasion, manslaughter (yeah you, TED), two face turnarounds in the truth (yeah, you Barney) ) etc.  Not change from democracy/freedom/capitalism to communism/state property/socialism.

So, I say NO to the current ideas set forth for "change", cuz it aint the change I am interested in.  Which is why I didnt vote fot him.

Sir, I have volunteered you for a sex change operation.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Your most SCREWED Survivors...

I once had a dog that ended up killing 2 goblins before sustaining severe injuries.

He was missing all his limbs, and was basically a torso with teeth, because he had no eyes. He survived for about 3 years before finally giving up the ghost during a flooding accident.

Though, I once had a cat who got it's mouth cut off. (Yes, I added in the mouth part to stop all the "Too injured to carry prey" messages.)

The Big Bang is just a theory too.  It could be wrong like everything else in this pitiful world.

OR

The Big Bang is just the strongest possible scientific term that can be applied to an idea.  It could be wrong like everything else in this pitiful world.

I usually ask the Humans and the Dwarven Caravans to bring meat and cats. So, basically, I'm drowning in meat. However, my cook churns out legendary plump helmet biscuits at a pretty insane rate.

I am a high school student, and a disheartened one. So, busy being a disheartened high school student in high school, the announcements came on with the usual smattering of events that not many care about/show up too, when suddenly, I heard the announcement for Conservatives for REAL change.

Aren't they liberals then?
