So far this party has been a total sausage fest.  :P (Aside from Axel ;)) I'd like to throw my hat in the ring with a nomination for....

Lina Inverse, sorceress extraordinaire and dragon spooker! She could possibly be a fighter/MU but would more likely be a straight Magic-user, which could be an issue with the squishiness of low level wizards in 1st ed.

So an alternate option...

Aeryn Sun, former Peacekeeper officer and standing bad-ass (though she sometimes suffers from the Worf Effect)  She's a Fighter, of course. :))

LordBucket, I'm cool with either character, so pick whichever would work best for you. If I have to choose I'll go with Lina, as I love throwing fireballs.

Thanks for the reply, everybody. :D  This LP looks promising; I'll be sure to keep watching.

I remember Pool of Radiance fondly. I never finished it, but somehow I managed to get rather far despite not understanding the 2nd Ed. concept of "negative AC is good" and thus keeping my party equipped entirely in non-magical leather armor.  :P

Is voting limited to the players, or can the peanut gallery chime in?  :)

Most likely, the guy we just recruited inadvertently left his buddy to die, mistaking a doppleganger for his buddy.

What a heroic companion, eh?

That is the implication, yeah. Hector either got attacked by his buddy's doppleganger and ran away, not realizing what had happened, or else his buddy was attacked by a Hector-ganger and then attacked Hector too, thinking he was another doppleganger.  Either way, it was a tragic misunderstanding that wasn't really Hector's fault.

And more faces and sketches

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My first reaction to this was to hear the "Make more helms!" guy in the voice of The Mayor of Townsville (from the Powerpuff Girls). It took me a second to figure out why, but really... he does kinda look like The Mayor, if The Mayor had a beard and was a dwarf. :D

I don't know if that was intentional or not, but consider me amused. :))

Yay! I'm glad this LP isn't dead. :)

DW4 put a lot of creativity in its dungeons, and the Cave of Faith is a good example of that. I remember being surprised that Hector actually wants to come along on the journey. You mean the NPC isn't going to just hand over the reward and wave me on my way? Shock! Still, the more the merrier so welcome aboard, Hector! :D

My inclination would be to attack 1, 3, 6, 5, 4, in that order. This way we keep the number of our frontline provinces at a minimum and prevent our troops from getting spread too thin. The reserve provinces can then be cultivated to feed and fund the army, search for treasure, etc.

I agree that province 1 should be the next target, though we'll probably need to recruit more soldiers in province 2 first.

We need more vassals! Time to send out the informative pamphlets detailing the glories of working for Chrysalis, then see if anyone bites. :D

(If I remember correctly, you can ask as many people as you want per turn if they'd be willing to defect. It's a bit tedious, and we'll probably only get low-loyalty folks right now, but we can't govern our expanding empire with just Garth and Sarthe.)

Hurrah for more Reginald! I was beginning to fear we'd never see his noble trunk again. :D

Well... crap. I can't believe the guy up and disappeared like that. What are the odds? :P

Pisaro is actually his original name. It got changed when the game was originally localized. (There were a *lot* of names changed in the localization of Dragon Warrior 4.)  I can't remember exactly why, but I always got the impression that his name was Saro, and the Necro- prefix was more of a title or honorific. The Saro's Shadow monster may have had something to do with the idea.

BTW, did you walk over to check out the corpse by the pond? It's another detail in the cavalcade of depression that is Aktemto, and the end of Chapter 4 in general. (Orin...!  :'( )
I didn't; I assumed it did the same thing as all the other corpses we met during that expedition.  Should I go back to visit in Chapter 5?
It's a minor detail, but a poignant one. It may be a bit belated by the time you get to Aktemto again, but go for it. :)  Also, if you check the sandy area in the hero's ruined village (where Celia was laying before), you can find a small souvenir that was left behind.

Congrats on another great installment! :)

Edit:  Since I think the one breadbocks posted is the PS or DS version, here's the NES soundtrack on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/ARGCi#grid/user/987D949BE8616178.  The newer stuff may technically be "better" but the NES music will always be my favorite. :))

Although I'm not sure if there's any canon between them all(there is between DW1 and 2).
Canonically, DW 1-3 make up the Erdrick/Loto Trilogy. DW 4-6 are a new trilogy. The continuity is pretty loose though, so you can take it or leave it.

Fjords, you're doing a great job so far. :)  The only thing I miss from your LP so far is DW 4's great music. I suppose it's a necessary evil, but I still miss it. Especially with Aktemto, the theme is beautiful, sad, and really drives home the mournful atmosphere.

BTW, did you walk over to check out the corpse by the pond? It's another detail in the cavalcade of depression that is Aktemto, and the end of Chapter 4 in general. (Orin...!  :'()

Still, the best is yet to come in Chapter 5.

I'm guessing it has to do with the low money / food situation.
