Hope you're still working on this project. The community needs a 3D visualizer, if only, so we can see the adamantine space elevator in all its 3 glorious dimensions.
Keep up the good work if you're still bashing away at it, if not, then get coding! :D

Haha, so true!

DF General Discussion / Re: Obsidian: Competitions

Still very much a work in progress, so don't judge it too harshly on its current state. I wanted to get something out in case the competition is due to close soon.

Needs more silhouetty bits. And a volcano. With magma. And possibly something that actually resembles obsidian.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Cheers :)

You sir are win. Not as overwrought as the other entries.
Simplicity is key I say.

Hmm, still not a fan of the supports, but other people seem to like them.
I wonder what it would look like if the lettering were embossed onto the sphere? Might look rubbish though - I can't tell. Although embossed onto the supports it might be quite nice.

No offense Djohaal (it looks like it took you a while to create those gold spikes). But I think it would look vastly better without those golden bits attached to the obsidian sphere. The net of the fortress inside the obsidian is a really good stroke though.

Just my £0.02 :)

Thanks for the alternate stone layer set. Much appreciated!

Oh I actually realized the version I was talking about was before 1.0 i.e. before you put in the mineral chart system. Would it still be possible to make a version with that?
I've never released a version without mineral charts, but I've released a version without layer symbols.

Hmm... clearly I'm confused!

Anyway, I would still be very thankful for a version without the layer symbols.

Any chance you could do a version with the original rock/mineral/gem wall tiles? I love your pack but i preferred the way the rock looked back in version 1.1 or whichever one it was before you changed it to the value graded symbols.

Woot.  :D
Looking forward to this becoming as huge as the Megamix. That made for some of the most epic and ludicrous forts conceivable. I had some crazy WTF race with the fort hollowed out into some marshmallow cliffs and loads of robots running around as pets. Also ridiculous numbers of caravans bearing the most bizarre foods and materials.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Argh! How do I solve this problem?!
« on: May 05, 2010, 08:01:00 pm »
Deconstruct the highlighted wall tile:

Your dwarf can move through the diagonal, but the wall can only be built (once he's out) from the south.

This works every time.

I disabled opengl and now it works! :D
The old stonesense worked fine though.

@Ivar360 and Randominality: Thanks for reporting the problems. I've been trying it on win7 64bit myself without problems. Have you tried running it in compatibility mode? Have you checked if the programs are running as administrator? And what does the output in the stonesense.log say?
These are things to check at least, they've worked before.

If you have any progress, please let us know so we can compile an FAQ

I tried in compatibility mode and as an administrator same result.
stonesense.log says:

Stonesense launched
4096 works.

Just downloaded the 0.31.x compatible version.
As soon as I startup stonesense.exe it crashes. I'm running Windows 7 64bit.
