The Game

Empires & Heroes is a game of great men and women who perform astonishing feats, from leading entire empires to great victory, to single handedly wiping out entire platoons. This is the game, where one can truly impact the world, galaxy, and eventually, the universe.

Four empires will be chosen, and five heroes will be chosen. Each empire and hero will be able to customize their appearance and personality as desired, and eye candy will come. The age will also be voted, which can range from the age that time started, to the brink of galactic domination. The game rules will also change as the age changes, and as circumstances come. There are no set rules, as everything is everybody's choice. As empires and heroes fall, new ones may or may not rise up and take their place.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Darwin's Island [Before the Dawn of Time]
« on: August 15, 2011, 06:46:23 pm »
(Please take note that this thread may not be friendly to religious persons because this follows the scientific theory of evolution, and thus may offend some users. Please take note of this.)

Darwin's Island
A community game/ms paint adventure where people decide the fate of an exceptionally superior being, thriving to sentience or falling down to the bottom of the food chain. Only you can decide, will you adapt and best natural selection, or become inferior and become the prey?

Spoiler: Global Stats (click to show/hide)

TURN 0

You lay there in gelatinous ooze, a simple organism with a fully developed nucleus and basic organelles. Not much has gone through your entire life, eating anything remotely smaller than yourself. But wait, what is that? A spark in your nonexistant conscience occurs, and suddenly, you have an urge to do something. You don't know what it is, but you are suddenly makes goals in your coding. Productions of new proteins and enzymes excite you, as you are wonderi- er, squirming about to what is happening.
+1 Sentience
Sentience Level Up! You are now known as "Nonexistant Debris"!

What should you do now?

DF Modding / Question about Race Gender
« on: January 03, 2011, 02:13:01 pm »
I have a modding question, and it is that if I remove all [FEMALE] tags from a sentient civilization race (Make it completely male), will this erase them from being able to start civilizations in the first place, or will they be able to stay as a civilization, and hopefully live up to the present? And if so, does that mean the amount that they start with is all they will have, and never get more in worldgen?

DF Modding / Question about bring-along creatures and rulers.
« on: July 18, 2010, 08:23:07 pm »
I have questions.

And you're here to answer them. (or to ponder because you aren't a modder)

Question one : What influences trolls and their ability to be brought along with Goblins? Are there tags that cause them to be brought along? Because I do not see much tags that relate to that.

Question two : What influences goblins being ruled by demons? What tags does the demons have that cause the goblins to be ruled by one, and what tags does the goblins have to have a ruler like a demon?

Please, and thanks.

I thought about dwarven architecture for a second, and thought of a important question.

"What would a dwarvenly underground citadel look like?"

And arises the idea of a community game, the Dwarven Metropolis.
Basically, a incredibly giant city made by dwarven hands, it would look as if it was a real life city, but completely underground, except for the most dwarvenly and important buildings for nobles.

The blueprints of it would basically be a giant hollowed out section from a volcano, making a second sky made of rock, but underground. And then basically erect buildings and stuff so it looks like a giant underground city. Obviously, with a magma river crossing through the roads and water aqueducts. For a better idea or image, imagine something like Ironforge from World of Warcraft, or Orzammar from Dragon Age.

tl;dr, Manhattan in DF, but underground.

Basically, it's going to be a giant dwarvenly art of a city.
You can take the place as any dwarf, and I'll acknowledge it. (eventually)

The thing that makes this a megaproject, is that the city itself will be HUGE, and like, actually as if it was a city, but underground. As I said, imagine it like Ironforge or Orzammar, a gigantic cavern with buildings and stuff erected in it. Plus, user requested content and working aqueducts/magmeducts.

The Name of the city is Choppeddwellings, The Angelic Firey Blood-City of Stones, or in Dwarvenese, Atotsiknug Sedilzirilnazushineth Lam

I am using Ironhand's Graphics Set (go tile magic) to make it more easier on the eye, and the city more aesthetically pleasing.

You can start choosing the starting 7 dwarves, or request a immigrant dwarf.
You can't choose your dwarf's profession if you're one of the starting dwarves (Sorry, I need certain dwarves to do this megaproject), but if you're a immigrant dwarf, you can pick whether to be a random immigrant dwarf and I micromanage him to your profession, or a immigrant dwarf with the profession you want whenever one comes. But, I'm glad to give them custom professions and nicknames.

DF Suggestions / Dwarf Testing Mode
« on: June 13, 2010, 01:31:00 pm »
I have no idea if it was suggested or not, because I do not know the terms to search for, but,

I understand that there's a arena mode, but that's only for testing combat, and combat related terms with items, abilities, materials, skins, etc.

But there needs to be a FORTRESS TESTING MODE, for all us modders.

A mode to basically test fortress mode with whatever we need. See if a mineral/material is common enough underground, see if a certain race will siege you often enough, or if their sieges are deadly enough, see if a custom workshop or reaction we've been working on actually works, look at whatever.

Basically, a mode important to modders to be able to test new things in fortress mode, without having to gen a new world, start up a fortress, build up your fortress to sustainability, AND THEN test what we need to test.

DF Suggestions / Immigration Officer
« on: June 01, 2010, 06:08:56 pm »
I think that once a fortress has reached a sufficient number of dwarves (40?) that a noble position called the Immigration Officer should be opened up.

In the nobles menu, you can change his settings and choose a variety of options to limit, increase, or pinpoint immigration. For example,

1.Regular Immigration (The regular immigration, balanced with unskilled and skilled workers/soldiers)
2.Drafting Immigration (Slightly less immigrants, but comes with more weapon/armor/combat skills and items)
3.Skilled Immigration (Slightly lesser immigrants, but comes with more highly skilled workers, like proficient and above)
4.Increased Immigration (Comes with a whole lot more immigrants, but most of the immigrants are unskilled)
5.Stop Immigration (Basically, stops immigrants from coming, incase you can't handle extra dwarves, or you're in a siege, or whatever.)

This would make it easier to manage your fortress, just so incase you lack the ability to train 10 soldiers or you need more workers. And would make people complain less about overpopulation.

Now that clownite, clowns, forgotten clowns, and giant clowns are as common as the amount of rock in your fortress, what happened to them?

Is there nothing to hide from the unsuspecting dwarfers now?

I mean, we can still keep their secret names as HFS and clown, but people pretty much know all about them now underneath the magma. (Unless they're like completely new DF players.)

DF Modding / Deadliest Nations [mod in progress]
« on: May 23, 2010, 10:45:01 am »
I wanted to make a mod based off of a certain nation with it's culture, but I couldn't pick one. Greeks were taken, Japanese was already done, so I thought... What about a mod that clashes a bunch of different nations together?

Like the Mali trading with the Greeks, while the Greeks are at war with the Chinese.
It'll take a lot of history lessons, but I can probably do it.

I will work on this mod in sort of stages, where I focus on one culture at a time. Each empire will have it's own unique set of weapons, armors, and etc. I will also add in their mythological creatures if they have any, and real native creatures to their area.

INFO AND ALL THAT FUN SHIZZLES

For now, B12, I have a question to ask you.
What Nation do you want to play as?
Can be one on the above list, or suggested.

Hi, me again.
----------------------------
CREATE-A-VENTURE
A forum game RPG where you can craft your own epic story and adventure! Basically, this is how it'll work. I will have a list of era's, like the future, modern times, world war, etc, and then people will vote on one, and the one with the most votes will be the era of the adventure. And then some more things like customizing the protagonist in the story, and etc. This will all be done in sprites, as well. Everything else will be soon seen/told.

This can be as serious or as unserious as you want.

Other Games / Sect - A Browser Based MMORPG
« on: February 13, 2010, 03:49:51 pm »
It's a browser based MMORPG akin to other browser based MMORPGS with the "energy" that you can do a few stuff per day. But this is a pretty good one, since it's pretty developed and all that.

You can choose your class as a Fighter, Psyonic, Landlord, or Contractor, all of which have different specializations. And then you can do missions, buy structures to increase income, kill/fight other players, etc. You can also choose your location and god, which if your god is chosen by sacrificing (killing) the most players, then you can get more special abilities and such. Also, hiring sectants (other players or buyable NPC's) increases your ability, and helps a lot!

Curses / Mapping bug
« on: September 06, 2009, 05:35:41 pm »

<.<

Irritating nuclear power plant is irritating.
Apparently, what happened was that, After a few days of messing with the shiny red button, I stopped using it for like, a week or two, and then when I came back to the power plant, it had a completely different map, and absolutely NO big red button. This is the most current version, btw. [4.000.3]

As in, I come in, look through the entire map, and no red button.
I can't influence nuclear power limit laws if I can't abuse it!
I also have save file if anybody wants.

In a time where swords and magic were used. When the word "computer" was a taboo. In a semi-steampunk fantasy world. Based in the seas of Alabaster, lies distress and wars. Factions among cities cannot live in harmony among each other, leading to wars and sieges. The four factions, the royal Hagen Navy, the merciless Onu Brigade, the wealthy Aren Guild, and the advanced Nolin Alliance. All with their own unique and customized ships, battle each other in a free for all for land. The Hagen Navy specialize in using seafaring ships, destroying enemies using advanced tactics and weapons, with honor. The Onu Brigade are known as pirates, being the opposite of the Hagen, using ruthless tactics and pillaging villages. The Aren Guild uses the power of bribery, corruption, and trading to weaken their foes, but still using brutal tactics like suicide bombs and diseases. The Nolin Alliance are the most advanced of all the four, using ironclads and such, at the cost of being expensive to make.

You and your four other friends have joined together, and raised enough money to afford a eighth-line ship of your choice, and your destiny awaits you. Shall you be a notorious brigantine? A lawful officer? A merciless corsair? Or maybe a famous merchant? The destiny of the entire area is of your control. With a vast amount of unique ships, and even a system to make your own custom model, as well as a variety of powerful and special weapons to dispose of your foes. Fight for a faction, or create your own. Take over ports, Raid towns and pillage the weak. Kill pirates for their bounties. Steal from merchant barges. It is all your decision.

Whos excited for motion sensing devices?

I sure am.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH_gDreIdcM&feature=related

Not much to say, except its a motion sensor for the 360, which will "detect" your whole body and use it to play games. Sounds sorta fun, and somewhat a lot like the PS3/Wii's motion sensing thing.

What's with all the motion sensors being invented by game companies, anyways? Will this kick into a new motion sensor game?

IS this what is known as virtual reality?
