Is there any downside to always having your base on yellow alert?

That annoying siren.

But otherwise, none that I can see.

enemies shoot faster at armed minions.

Except that most roguelikes can be even worse, and this game fails to properly emuate either reality or a decent game (choices monthly at least, more but smaller events, community options extending to AI players, decisions(strike back at the invaders with shapened tools? Keep funds hidden offsite for emergencies? Reinforce the well to prevent collapse? Partial disasters? Move to a different country? Start a shoe factory of child labour and become rich working for <company> on the corpses of the "unfortunate" babies that were worked to death? Orbital nuclear obliteration?)...

The only point I can see, and it is quite sad, is that sometimes poor, reality deluded, game designers try to make a point with a game that hilariously is neither a decent game nor the intended message.
Couldn't they have had the classic "holding shift when making something keeps it selected for rapid construction"?

what? ???

Your entire succes has absolutely nothing to do with skill but the luck that you don't get a negative event that completely negates your investment and starts you the following turn without enough money for anything.

I think that is kind of the point.......

Is it me or does the nettiles client work with 0.7, although a bit buggy?

It is still a shame that you can't view you inventory, it is the thing I miss most about the non-tiles version. :(

It just means "Chop into tiny pieces" if you ask me.  Or maybe "tear you a new one".  Either of those work as a description of eviscerate.

I need help.  What do I do?

And do I take strength or intelligence next level up?

when in doubt: RUN

look at it this way, when you run, you live.
when you fight, you might die, and dying is bad.

and you need at least 7 strength to avoid stat death

I look to Bayes law; were fairies to exist we'd likely see evidence that we do not see, whereas if the god I believe in exists, the world would be exactly as I see it to be.

There are so many things wrong with that statement.
First of all statement has no meaning at all as it also serves as an argument for the opposite: In the case of god not existing the world would still be exactly as I see it to be. So the statement becomes: If god exists or not the world would be exactly as I see it to be. I believe this demonstrates why it is not a valid point.

The idea god is made to fit the world we perceive in the first place. So if I make an idea that fits the current world, but has no proof at all we should assume it is true? If the red cube exists the world would still be the same as is the case with an infinite amount of other statements.  for example UFO's exist the world would also be as I see it to be, as they are very secretive and good at hiding their existence, why do you not believe UFO's are present at earth? Or if I say that fairies are invisible so they leave no clues, would that make them exist?

I don't think that "You can't prove he doesn't exist" is a reason to start believing in god, I think it's not a reason to stop. Currently, I feel that my view of the universe offers me more in my life, and is of equal legitimacy to that of atheism. No, this isn't an argument that could convert someone to religion. But if "You can't prove there isn't a god" is not enough to make someone a theist, then "You can't prove there is" isn't to make someone an atheist.

My entire post was about that without further evidence it is enough.
In fact it is impossible to disprove the existence of anything, but we view everything as non-existing until proven otherwise (dragons and ghosts for example) why would this be any different for god?
Why do you not believe dragons exist?
Why are you not a Hindu or Buddhist,  why do you not worship the Greek gods?

Atheism is not a statement, it is simply the lack of a statement, it is the default choice. If there is no proof something exists, it doesn't

Here it comes. The flames. Somebody (neither side of the Atheism vs. Theism debate is innocent, and Atheists start the flames just as often as the Theists) gets defensive and claims somebody else is trying to change them. Soon, it will devolve into pure chaos. Once the thread finally starts to die down, somebody who hasn't read it will give a response to the first post with information he thinks nobody has thought of yet.

and then there is the thrid party who always claim they won't get involved in the thread and constantly say how bad the thread will end, although I really wonder what they are doing here ???.

I really think it is just a bad to try and repress any form of discussion about the matter.

I personally think that it is illogical to assume that there is a god, as there is no evidence that supports this. Most religious people argue that there also isn't any proof of the non-existence of god. But according to that statement we should accept statements that have no proof for or against it. However this is impossible, for example:

I have a statement A : Somewhere in the universe a big green sphere is floating in space, as we currently have no evidence that this is not the case, should we accept the statement?
The same goes for statement B: somewhere a big red cube is floating in space, accepting every statement this way would mean mean that we should take an infinite amount of statements as true.
it becomes even more problematic when these statements come to contradict each other, statement C says there is no red cube. So according to this logic we have to assume at the same time that there is and is not a red cube.

Therefore it is a logical error to assume a god exists without any evidence supporting this fact.

Another odd aspect of religion is that there have to be "false" religions, as religions contradict they can not all be true. This means that it is possible for "false" religions to be founded, so how do you know that your religion is not one of them? Many people argue that this is because of "a feeling" they have, however people of contradicting religions both claim to have this feeling. This means the feeling exists both if  the religion is true or false and thus says absolutely nothing about the validity of the claim made.

The same goes for people who do not doubt.
for example Someone believes religion A to be true, when he does not doubt and religion A is:
1. True, he will follow religion A
2. False, he will still follow religion A

This means that without doubt it is in fact impossible to determine if something is correct, so not doubting something is in fact extremely unwise.

What arguments do you have for believing a god exists?
