I hate the sentence "they are just as bad as", but the antifa do have their fair share of assholes in their ranks.

Not sure where I'd post Turkey stuff, but, Turkey has gone cray-cray.

Arresting people over percieved fashion faux pas? Height of paranoia, yeesh. Maybe Erdogan should check if any of his clothes are made by American brands if they're going to go there with paranoia. Might give him a mental conniption fit.

Ohw shit like that have been going on for a while now.

People who cancelled their tv subscription after the government removed "Gullen linked channels" from the package were already considered enough Gullen supporter to fire them from their jobs.

And a fleet of aircraft carriers. Dont forget that Trump sent a fleet of aircraft carriers to Korea.
It would be over in a day

More than a day but carriers ARE basically instant win.

Actually I have also read articles that carriers are surprisingly vulnerable to modern anti ship weaponry.

Guess what happened on this date, 72 years ago. Pretty sobering in all this isn't it.

Also, article on what it would take logistically to have a run up to actually attacking NK. This would be a planned event mind you, not a spur of the moment "We need to move, NOW!". Basically, it would be pretty obvious that something is happening, and we aren't even in that sort of position. Which lies behind the problem of Trump's rhetoric since you shouldn't make threats or bluffs that you can't immediately back up. That Trump doesn't understand that is no surprise.

Some of the comparisons in that article don't seem right though. The US for example has a lot more bases and men already in place than it did for Desert Storm.

Considering this wast posted 6 years ago and people are still getting viruses I take it the drug wasn't that great after all.
you're both completely unaware of drug development cycles and unwilling to read the provided links...

92% of the drugs that reach the clinical stage do not reach the market. I just assumed it had failed somewhere along the way.

This drug is stuck on its funding for preclinical animal testing. So yeah they might still make it, but the odds are about 20 to 1.

Starks are pretty much dead - women don't really count, Jon's not a Stark, and Brandon... well, apart from the fact he's a fucking vegetable mentally, nobody is exactly sure if his dick still work. It might, but that's not a given.

Rickon.

Wasn't he shot down at the battle of the bastards?

Ohw yeah, I keep thinking of the book.

It has parallels to, (but would be worse than) the reunification of Germany.  The technology levels of NK are mostly 1950s in nature. SK is "Hyper modern". It would be like having space aliens land, finding out they were ancient abductees who have interstellar travel, and who want to reunify with the people of earth.

Red King: Keeping a dangerous pet, if we want to keep that metaphor, is still the onus on the owner. Especially when said angry neighbor has repeatedly suggest obedience school, and socialization training, but the moron owner refused, because it is their "guard dog."

They definetly have modern technology, just that only the well off really have it, and even then, it's tightly controlled.

Making all of that accessable to everybody and as hypermodern as the rest of Korea would definetly take decades and lots of money.

The cost of German reunification is estimated at 1.3 trillion euros. And east Germany is was in a lot better shape than North Korea is and former east Germany is still lagging behind. It was also a relatively small amount of people added compared to the population of West Germany.

I don't think they're gonna do it. The Norks won't start it, there's no upside. Even with their handful of nukes they're still horribly outmatched, and if they nuke Guam (or try and fail) we're going to invade them. There's no question about that. They don't have a hope of winning a straight up war, and I think it's unlikely China would intercede on their behalf in a scenario like that.

We aren't likely to start it either. We can win, but the cost will be terrible. Probably the worst since World War 2. And as nice as it would be to finally end it the current status quo is working okay for everyone, except maybe the average North Korean.

Assumption: rational actors.

While Trump is a joke, this situation has long ceased to be a joke.

Ooh boy.....

NK is threatening a pre-emptive attack on Guam..... *shakes head*

RedKing's analogy of two drunks arguing seems pretty apt here, neither wants to back down rhetorically.

http://thehill.com/policy/international/asia-pacific/345820-north-korea-threatens-guam-after-trump-remarks

TheHill sourced it to Reuters, but linked to CNBC anyway: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/08/08/north-korea-seriously-considering-strike-on-guam-reports-citing-state-media.html

I feel the US is closer to war with North Korea than it ever has been in the past decades.

Trump brings a level of unpredictability to the situation which makes predicting where this will go almost impossible.

Warriors of Chaos shouldn't be a horde faction. They should have been structured a bit like the Wood Elves. With their main base in the Northern Wastes and gaining more income and units from spreading corruption.

Yeah I think wearing your everyday clothes into battle isn't really that smart.

I suggest wearing a mail shirt.

And a helmet, you could at least wear a helmet.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Dany isn't immune to fire, it's the dragons that protect her.
Boiling water bathtime, holding coal-stoked eggs, the funeral pyre of Drogo, the Wonga Khaleen tent party - show has her literally immune to fire, so much so that Dany will set herself on fire confident that it'll kill her enemies and leave her alone (evidently her lungs are also immune to smoke). It would be pretty metal to have Dany enter battle setting herself on fire just to gain a psychological edge against her enemies

Book - series discrepancy

Quote
As far back as 1998, author George R.R. Martin has made a point to emphasize that Targaryens, including Daenerys, are not immune to fire. Yes — she survived walking into a gigantic pyre and emerged unscathed. This was a one-time occurrence, according to Martin, and had less to do with her Targaryen surname than it did with the effect of blood magic she was invoking.

Khal Drogo's pyre was more than just a cremation — Daenerys was burning the witch Mirri Maz Duur. This blood sacrifice, along with the magic of her dragon's eggs, created a perfect storm of sorcery that left her unburnt.
