So I did drugs for a while and now I'm getting close to normal again :D

Ha ha! When I used to stay in my room, programming BASIC on the C64, my dad used to jokingly question why I wasn't out drinking and taking drugs like other kids.

I think he was joking anyway.

And anyway, don't be so bitter, Siquo! MENSA is a great way of figuring out how good you are at taking the sorts of tests MENSA make you take!

The bandit gang will probably have a more functional moral compass.

Wow. That looks incredible.

Are you sure they don't own a base, maybe hidden behind one of the floating dialog boxes?

It's been pretty reliable for me in terms of doing what you think it should be doing, but if they don't own any sites, I suppose it must be a bug ...

We have been informed, in fact, by a reliable source, that we did break a record in kickstart. The fastest roguelike to get funded :D

Sweet :P

That is very cool, and well done indeed!

Now call it an RPG, and try to get some funding out of those scared off by the roguelike tag!  ;D

I just really hope that isn't how the creature is going to look... it is really REALLY creepy.

Don't worry, Steve does not think this is anything like what will go in the game.

I think it is highly likely that whatever it is will still be a bit creepy - just the nature of the beast.

Ah, sorry, my mistake. It looks like he used to weight it towards boardgame data, but he's removed it now. Fair enough.

Kicktraq is not linear by design, it uses historical information of previous kickstarters to generate the predictions. Unfortunately all those previous predictions, at present, are board games (reflecting the site owners initial motivation for setting this up). Most other things go a bit askew with these predictions, obviously, and the site owner accepts this. That's also why I tried to pull another project for reference and ignored the kicktraq in everything but the given graph.

Of course this statistical analysis is flawed beyond comprehension, but It is fun to guess what will happen. My expectations have been heavily revised from pre-kickstarter blues where I thought it would struggle. I hope for a steady trickle throughout the rest of the time left, and there are a bunch of people left in the world to potentially fund this.

We can only sit back and watch what unfolds, though.

Ah, come on guys this thread wouldn't be the same if someone didn't ignore the rules every few pages.

I crossed the seam joining one side of the map with the other, and my brainbot exploded for unknown reasons.

Here is the Kicktraq chart for Cult, to date.

I'm going to liken it to Xenonauts, a game which received a huge boost at the start, and then limited interest from then on in, probably due to existing awareness / willingness of the people who would actually fund this being high at the start. I imagine this is the case here - the 'roguelike' community seems pretty tight and niche.

On this magical, statistical, imaginary basis it is not a ridiculous notion that this project could get funded to the $10k stretch goal.

My fingers are crossed, anyway!

There are 3 days remaining on the kickstarter, and has done fantastically well so far to get to $124k + (of a $50k target), getting probably half this total in the first two or three days.

It seemed to spike early, probably on account of the people who were looking to fund it mostly being aware of it already. It's already well funded, but if you did want to get involved, and help contribute to some nice looking stretch goals, now is the time!

Posting to watch, and to say I'm really happy about the positive start to the Kickstarter.
