Ah, apologies. Didn't realise it was a straightforward question with no hidden subtext ...  :)

Sorry, I think it's just the code committed to the main source.

They still need to build for the platforms, make sure they work, then release the exes...

This is, as I understand it, in progress.

213
It's on the devlog, and twitter. I figure they just need to build and test before we see it ...

Release candidate commited for B27. Not long now ...

Hmmm ... do double posts count after three months?

Anyway, put my order in for my Pi, it's due in about 6 weeks. I'm excited. Anybody got theirs yet?

I'm no expert, but I can imagine 'real' rewards can also entice people to contribute in the first place. I suppose you need to be sure that you can get your money's worth out of anything with a high overhead for time / mail / cost to produce.

Good luck with this, I will be contributing and I'll try and coax others to do so.

So, on Saturday I got ate by a dinosaur...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Fucking thing was animatronic and left bite marks on my midriff that looked awesome.

Ha ha! That's ace. The smile does kind of give it less gravitas than such an event would normally warrant ...

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Minecarts (0.34.08)

They can't 'push' it uphill very easily, because that infers the dwarf giving it a 'nudge' and then letting it go.

They can 'guide' it uphill plenty easy enough, at least my dwarves are guiding a cart full of blocks back up a ramp without any obvious issues.

Perhaps it is slightly ambiguous, but 'guide' is the one you want. It means the dwarf follows the minecart, pushing it along every step of the way.

Anybody played Shogo: Mobile Armor Division?

I used to love that game. I can't confirm whether it was any good or not, just pleasant nostalgic memories of fun spinning missiles and sniper rifles.

Other Games / Re: Carmageddon plows into Kickstarter

I can't believe it has taken me this long to get around to funding this.

The best feeling in Carmageddon 2 was buying the old WW2 fighter plane thingy for a load o' dollars and realising it was an absolute piece of shit to drive, let alone kill anything with. But then you spend two hours bombing around the airfield, driving underwater and doing all sorts of mad flips in to overweight pedestrians and it just doesn't matter anymore.

Nothing matters.

Also, the choice of car is VERY IMPORTANT if you want to do some of the missions in C2. I was playing it a few months back, and couldn't get over how (relatively) trivial some of them were made, just by application of the BUGGA, a car that you wouldn't be seen dead in (ironically) in a more typical slug-fest.

You think you should be driving the TVR Cerbera / BATMAD car, capable of 0-200 in about 2 seconds, but no. Its all about the BUGGA.

Thanks everybody.

First stockpile set to take ONLY from Mason's Workshop making blocks.
Then the blocks should stay where they are dumped anywhere else on the map.
Make sure there is an actual 1 tile stock pile set under your quantum stockpile location.

The bolded bit is the bit I missed, I think. I'll have a play around on this basis.

Morning all,

I'm having a little bit of a problem with a minecart setup and can't help but think there is something stupid I am missing.

Basically, I'm mass-producing blocks at one point in the bowels of my fortress, and using a carved minecart track system getting the Dwarves to shift all these blocks to a point near the outside for the easy construction of the above ground expression of my fort.

Everything is working as I hoped, except when the blocks get dumped within the (quantum) stockpile at the far end, the eager little dwarves go and pick it up and put it back in the minecart at the start again. Harumph. So I have 100 odd blocks (and counting) that I can never use, as they are always mid-haul.

Any hints as to what I should be doing to mitigate this?

I don't know if you've seen it, but you should try Starfarer. It's not finished yet, but the alpha is VERY playable and a lot of fun.

It's 10 bucks, and even at this stage it is worth a lot more than that.

It also ticks the 'mostly battles' thing at the minute, with that side of things very well developed and the campaign detail to follow (although the simplistic campaign layer is still pretty engaging).

e: Damnit Seabee. I knew you would beat me to it! :)

Updated the OP so its a little more relevant.

Also Kickstarter blah blah blah ... pledge all your money etc.  :)

(Stretch goals up - more money = more features)

I used to adore this setting when I used to read White Dwarf all those years ago. I never actually played though.

I've been kind of hoping for this to be made into a videogame as well - playing XCOM Apocalypse gave me that gang-fighting vibe when I used to go and piss on Diablo, and I would think of this.

I wonder if someone would make a roguelike based on this world ...
