i like that, but you might have to make NSEW plus Up and Down. You could just have it act as a wall if they wish to travel in a certain direction, meaning the pathfinding would go around them.

theres a program called "dwarf companion" i think, might be something else, but it has an Unpause function which keeps the game unpaused, and also lists when the game tried to pause.

how about

Wealth = Scale of armies.
Race = Engineering AI
Enemy Wealth = Ability to mass scale siege facilities.

I.e. Rebellion against the dwarven king will see you die.

oh, and i need to rephrase my stuff.
a) Siege camps
b)when an enemy tunnels into your fortress, the tunnels he makes are invisible, until he breaks into your fortress. This might be hard for Toady to implement though... doesn't he have a design team yet?
c) champions to be EASIER TO KILL (Shock Horror)

nah, it was just a retort to you telling me to change my writing style and thought patterns, sarcasm, if you will.
anyway.

TRANSLATION: Why don't we have a singular resource, i.e. saltpeter which is able to be found in a certain map, and not in others.
or they could try to balance guns with crossbows by changing their accuracy.

Oh, and straycat, just because a post has LULZ in it, doesn't mean it isn't a valuable contribution, it's just likely that it isn't.

Well, game of thrones by RR Martin is really good, for the intrigue and etc.
after that it's basically a series about incest.

Elaine Cunningham has good books.  i think that's her name, she writes forgotten realms. am i right?

geez, straycat has claws... but they have a point "WIT!"

soz lego, i'm just sick of the same argument being brought up over and over again, and if we just start heaving about tunnelling there's just going to be derailment of the thread. Obviously half of the forum agrees on it, and half doesn't want anything to do with it, either because they don't want the challenge of goblins breaking straight into the bedrooms, or because, like me, they like having an OCD worthy fortress, without having lines of constructed wall all over it.

I wouldn't mind having the tunnelling, because frankly i'd just send my champions to go into their tunnels and hit them in the asses, or dig to meet them, so unless we can have either,
a). Siege camps (AWESOME)
b). invisible enemy tunnelling.
c) more mortal champions
then tunnelling is just a way to spice up a siege.

I'm talking about siege engines etc. I'd rather a bridge, which you can destroy after the siege, than a tunnel that never leaves.
