Sorry for triple posts, screwed up then realized I hadn't bolded extension request.

Janus originally commented about no lynch.

It seems to me we'd be better off doing that - if you both protect each other, then panda can only kill me, I can only kill panda, if there's a survivor you vote them off. It seems a lot better for the town than voting me off, honestly.

Especially since I promise to try not to kill - worst case is that I am scum, and choose the same target as Panda (who should be choosing me anyway) and we kill one of you through protection - but then its still 2 vs 1 scum, and know you know for sure I'm scum.

so Unvote, vote for No Lynch

In which case, if Pandarsenic really IS scum and he can't kill either of you, then voting me out is the best move, since you can kill him next. I still don't buy it though. If I WAS mafia, why would I have even claimed vig, when the one kill that went off was already claimed by someone else?

EXTENSION PLEASE

And I (tried) to kill at four players partly because I'm an idiot, but also because I assumed there would be a lot more killing going on like in previous games and that may very well have been our last night - since we don't need surviving town to win, just dead scum, its not exactly the worst idea for all kill ability town to choose to kill on what very well may be the last night. Since Pandarsenic had a forced kill, then the game would have been over whether I had tried to kill or not (if no one had been protected).

I believe Janus is protector, you don't have to try to convince me of that.

Speaking of which, actually, I'm wondering about Janus's comment

It will be fun, I think, to throw in some sort of ultra-rare castes in with the normal races so we can get things like midgets and giants, or occasionally megabeasts or demons born from humans. Things like the "children born with horns" thing in Ico.

Goddamnit, we replaced Org with an even worse lurker. Hopefully its just the christmas season keeping him away and he'll be back soon.

Sonearage, why were you so intent on defending Errol yesterday?

Errol, I've reviewed the thread, and you did a lot of scummy stuff, spewed a lot of wifom and said a lot of weird things - thats a fact. So I'd like to see you explain some of them...

First, the "We can spare townies, We shouldn't go all out until LYLO" comment you made, that I accidently attributed to LASD. It was suspicious at the time, and yet we got to LYLO and I am not seeing a whole lot in the direction of going "all out" (understandable for the moment, maybe, but still).

Why did you try to convince Nirur to vote himself (why he did it is another question entirely)?
You include a lot of subtle and not so subtle insistances that you are town - you sound guilty, honestly. Comments like:
Quote
And if this turns out to be a huge slugfest between two townies, the survivors will have so much intel they'll not even have enough time to process it.
essentially boil down to "oh, btw, when he flips town I'm totally town too, but at least you'll all have gotten some info." You never even explained what sort of intel we were supposed to get from his death, or how we should have acted on it - so where is all this useful information you promised, assuming you actually ARE town?

I'll have more for you after you get a chance to respond.

FYI, as IC, ToonyMan is an experienced player with several games and likely a few wins under his belt, serving primarily an advisory role. Specifically, he is the town IC - his job is foremost to help the players learn what they need to do and how they need to act to be succesful town-players and scumhunters. Vector is the mafia IC and posts in the mafia chat with advice for the scum players - which everyone will be able to see and learn from when the game ends.

Both players, however, are ultimately neutral - their goal is to help you learn and offer advice and make better players, and to that end vector may occasionally pop in to offer advice to the town even if hes technically supposed to be helping the scum. Scum can learn a lot from the town IC, and town can learn a lot from the scum IC - especially since you'll likely have a different role next game.

Dakarian will post primarily as a town IC, but mostly he's a personal IC for myself, since this is the first game that I've run.

All three of them have been around for a while - their advice might not always be perfect, they may not always be right even, but they speak from experience and at the very least demonstrate how other more experienced players view your actions. They are a resource, and are there to help you - don't be afraid to use them, to ask them questions, etc.

Remember that they are also the only ones you are allowed to Private Message (assuming you copy me in as well) if you have some question you want answered, but think it would look scummy to post it in the thread for example.

Craaaap, its web! Your the goddamn scum king, and you're going to win this thing! I'm out, he NKs Panda instead of protecting you, and he WINS! Nooooo! With your crappy confirms and certainty about who isn't scum and other things I've probably missed but I haven't been paying enough attention to this thread to notice!

Bah to you! Much as I want to stop playing, I can't let that happen!

UNVOTE vote Webadict

I'll still probably die anyways, but at least I tried, right? (I just hope I'm right about him if it does make a difference. If its not, that will suck. It may very well be Panda after all, but something about that last post... rrrgh, its just TOO scummy sounding with the strategy talk)

Noooo! Not my dimple cups! We have tons of food! We need blue dye for when the tower opens! Everyone must be wearing blue everything!

Noooooo!

Though I approve of any and all aesthetic improvements. The lever room really did need some work.

Generally, I play with magic settings in fantasy games whereas all magic, ever, anywhere, is alive - its a bit like fey/fell moods. You can use the magic in such a way so as to allow you to create an artifact, but the spirits that answer your call are the ones that end up deciding what happens as a result, especially if you give them access to your mind. You don't really know if you just asked the elven volcanic nature god for help, or if it was just some demon pretending to be the elven volcano god. Either way your fireball might go off, but maybe you agreed to more than you bargained for and you can't get it to stop...

Magical artifacts, of course, are always alive and always have their own desires, seldom in line with those that want to use them.

Now, we don't really know how DF is going to implement magic yet, but thats the sort of system I'd really like to see. Something where magic is powerful, but you can't trust it - its not reliable, its not consistant, and something you generally stay away from unless you really absolutely need it, because its not a matter of if, its a matter of WHEN you are gonna get burned.

That said, I'm not sure DF needs an RPG anything like it mechanically, its a pretty righ setting for any fantasy style RPG though.

So are we holding off until Errol gets back?

Even if the game will still be running at that point, Sonearage, you have a whole lot of explaining to do. Answer my questions, you scumbucket, and answer them well. - You aren't Org, you're not not gonna get away with lurking.

Speaking of which, Org was actually acting not himself for much of this game... You know, aside from attacking you because I need to (At Lylo with no information about you after a replacement), there's actually a good chance you might be scum based on Orgs actions, so lets see how you respond.

Errol, you're not in the clear - prepare to be questioned as soon as you return.

Yeah, I've just been pretty out of it, and all my time I've spent on has been doing my hosting stuff and BM6. I hesitate to think how much I'm gonna start to fall apart once u-pick opens up again! All the different mafia everythings are floating together and becoming one in my head. :P

A similiar thing happened to the various medieval martial arts. Unbelievable as it is, almost none of the major schools wrote anything down if they could help it, and much of what they DID write down was so heavily coded and reliant on there being a teacher there to help you understand it that we just can't decipher it accurately.

Now, I'm no expert, I don't know for sure if its true. But I find it very conceivable there many blacksmithing techniques lost just because there not much used any more and no one was inclined to pass them on when they retired. Yeah, materials wise and armor wise, we can do better - a number of types of modern body armor is superior to the medieval stuff in effectiveness against melee weapons. But that doesn't mean current-day blacksmiths making reproductions are near the level of the masters from an era where it actually mattered.

FAKE EDIT: Yeah, basically as above. Its the specific techniques for the limited materials, not the basic science.

Aaand... magmadeath is already dead as well.

Okay, I have officially not been paying enough attention to this game in addition to being an idiot. As long as I'm gonna make stupid mistakes, it might actually be better to have me out of the way so people can start trying to find the king.

Vote GlyphGryph since my last one was for a player who isn't here.
