To clarify, its not any of you that puts cards into a pile for that Empori, its me! Emporio, AKA General Store, is basically "Everybody gets a free card! Wooo!"

Of course, the person who played it gets to pick first. your options are...
Beer - Regain one health
Wells Fargo - Draw 3
Beer
Schoffield - a gun with range 2
Dodge - Counts as a missed. When used, draw a card.

Sheriff, announce which card your taking and proceed with your turn!

Play proceeds clockwise. You choose for the emporio in clockwise order, so Jetsquirrel gets to to pick after the Sheriff, then Evilmonk, Errol, then Shadowdump picks last.

Current Status
There is a point of indian damage waiting against JetSquirrel and theevilmonk

I am passing out roles and starting hands now. Before we start, a note on card effects:

"Draw!" means you ask me to reveal a card, and we check the suite.

"bang", without the capital and the exclamation point, means damage. "Bang!" means a Bang! card, which are limited to one per turn.

"Discard a card" means choose a player to discard a card at random from their hand OR discard any one card thats already in play anywhere on the table.

At Range means equal to your weapon range.

At Range X means at a range equal to X.

Draw a card means draw from the deck. Draw a card from another player means randomly from their hand, or your choice from the cards in play in front of them.

So when does the cop find out the results of his "investigation". Does he get a private message at the end of the day/end of the night, what?

Anyways, game specific stuff:
Jim, you bring up a good point - I do admit I was looking askance at RNG earlier. No obvious tells, but Diakron claimed he was the most experienced, and while I'm not exactly taking anything Diakron says at face value, I don't see any reason why he would lie about something like that. In addition, he seemed close to Diakron for a while, and may just be trying to distance himself now. So at the very least, I'm wary about him.

But still, he did vote for dirtybird, which doesn't exactly follow your whole "never the first vote" pattern. But then, he also didn't really press DB that much before unvoting, (nor did he press evilmonk much) so he's definitely been lax on scumhunting as a follow up to calling out lurkers, at least.

ERmergency, g2g,more then

It seems that players in general are feeling that they're progressing because they suspect everyone.

What I meant by watching myself "progress" in the "good" way, just the gradual change in the way I saw the game.

Not to mention, in my little list of scummiest seeming players, you're "try to be hard to read" has earned you the second place spot on the list after Diakron. Of course, most of the other players are on here for something or other, but something about the way you post just makes me uneasy. If your trying to be hard to read - that might very well be what's had me feeling that way about you, even if I wasn't able to put it into words.

As a side note, I've slowly become more paranoid of everything everyone says as the game progresses, to the point where everyone appears on my list of "seems to be scum", to the point where DirtyBird is on it because he(she?) doesn't seem to be scum, and THAT makes me suspicious. It's been interesting to watch myself progress.

Ah, Diakron, for that one about mafia comment, I'll give that to you. I read it as mafia/scum rather than mafia/the game.

And I didn't accuse you of being "scum with two scumbuddies." I accused you of seeming to be close with two other other players, of their being tells that if someone were your scumbuddy, one of them seems likely.

I stand by my assertation that you can't hunt scum reliably amongst those that aren't talking. If you don't have real suspicions against anybody who's done plenty of talking, "chatting" strategically with those who have yet to speak seems like a perfectly sensible action to take.

One final question - if you've played so many games (over a dozen, six simultaneous) why are you playing beginners mafia? You claim its to get better, but if you've played that many games, what would a bunch of beginners have to teach you?

To the IC:
I think its time the votes start coming out and converging - I don't want a lynch with 2 or 3 votes since it would be easy easy for the scum to manipulate when things are that close. Is this spread a vote, even past an extension, normal for a day 1? I honestly don't know if I should be pushing for a lynch at this point, or what.

If anything, it should be a generic clothing item made from glass (and maybe not the only one! Tiaras and other glass jewelry would be nice too) that falls under a civilizations "preferences" for clothing items.

theevilmonk, when you are ready, you may choose one from the following three characters:

-Black Jack (4O) - During your draw, if your second card is a diamond or a heart, it will be announced to all other players and you will draw an additional card.
-Vulture Sam (4O) - Whenever a character is eliminated from the game, Sam takes all the cards that player had in his hand and in play, and adds them to his hand.
-Jesse Jones (4O) - Instead of drawing from the deck, he may choose to have his first card drawn randomly from the hand of a player of his choice. He draws the second card normally.

Errol, when you are ready, you may choose one from the following three characters:
-Doc Holyday (4O) - Once during his turn, he may discard a card from his hand to play any other card as a Bang! card.
-Vera Custer (3O) - For a whole round, she gains the same ability of another character in play of her choice.
-Kit Carlson(4O) - When you draw, you draw three cards. You must choose one of them (PM me) to return to the top of the deck before you take your turn.

JetSquirrel, when you are ready, you may choose one from the following three characters:
-Paul Regret(3O) - all other players must add 1 to the distance to him.
-Pixie Pete(3O) - He draws 3 cards instead of 2 (3 life points)
-Molly Stark(4O) - Each time she uses a card from her hand out of turn, she draws a card.

Exkirby, when you are ready, you may choose one from the following three characters:
-Bart Cassidy (4O) - Each time he loses a life point, he immediately draws a card from the deck.
-Uncle Will (3O) - Once during his turn, he may play any card from hand as a General Store.
-Calamity Janet (4O) - She can use "Bang!" cards as "Missed!" cards and vice versa.

Shadowdump, when you are ready, you may choose one from the following three characters:
-Tequila Joe (4O) - Each time he plays a Beer, he regains 2 life points instead of 1
-Claus "The Saint" (3O) - He draws one more card than the number of players, keeps 2 for himself, then gives 1 to each player.
-Lucky Duke(4O) - Each time he is required to "Draw!" (for an effect, like the Barrel or when checking to see if he gets out of jail), he flips the top two cards from the deck, and chooses the result he prefers. Discard both cards afterward.

Hmm.. should probably mention something about turns. If its your turn and you go an entire day without taking it (or at least starting it), it gets skipped. (though honestly, the turns should go a bit faster than that, this is just in case).

Let's assume one of us is scum. Even if we both die there is still one more out there. and we only have 2 mislynches, to get down to 2/5 situation.

Though technically, if one of you IS scum and you both get lynched, the town isn't actually in that bad a situation numbers wise.

That would be 1 townie dead (assuming the wrong person died first), 1 townie dead (nightkill), 1 scum dead, 1 townie dead (nightkill) then town vote at 6 town, 1 scum. Which would mean the town could then mislynch two more times and still pull off a win.

Nothing else really to add to this little exchange. I'm not convinced either of you are scum, so they're not exactly odds I'd want to roll with, but I figured I'd bring it up.

Well, generally most people die! Doesn't mean you can't still win! (well, half win)

Announcement note:
We have enough players - Characters will be dealt out tonight at 10pm. Roles will be dealt out tomorrow  shortly after noon to give any latecomers a chance to jump in, except for the Sheriff, who will also get his role tonight. Once you have your role and pick your character, you will get your starting hand dealt to you.

If you want the Sheriff role, claim it now! If no one claims it by tonight, it will be assigned at random.
