The beast leg is really disheartening, though, because it's a symptom. They said they really wanted to add it but ran out of time. Which means they didn't have enough time to actually finish making the game, even just to their own satisfaction.

It means the game development was rushed and basic things had to be sacrificed and left as-is. How likely is it that that won't show in dozens of other places?

For me, the digitigrade thing was always the coal-mine-canary to see how dedicated they were to making the game properly, because I knew it was a low priority thing that still really should have been in.

"As in the previous games, the Khajiit have long, humanoid legs and a tail."

...What does that even mean? I want that to mean digitigrade like Morrowind rather than 100% human like Oblivion's but "humanoid" could loosely apply to either. Gah!

On windows XP, I tried this and it seems to crash within a few minutes of starting up every time.

It seems like it'd be interesting if I could actually let it sit longer. :P

I just played through the entirety of Earthbound for the first time, over the course of 4 days.

How...can a game be this good? I don't understand it. If games can be this good, why aren't they?

The whole "clothing magically transforms based on gender" thing in Oblivion irritated me to no end. If I kill someone and take their pants, it's because I liked their pants. Don't turn it into a completely different article of clothing once I put it on! I want my pants damnit.  >:(

Also, if they're capable of doing that and don't consider it immersion-breaking, why the heck can't they make boots that turn into foot-guards once a digitigrade race puts them on?

They're going to have to come to terms with digitigrade feet for the werewolves anyway, they might as well start now.

Has there been any screens or footage with Argonians at all? I'm curious how they look this time. I think there was some Khajiit shown briefly, though only from torso upwards, so not entirely sure if they've got human-like legs or the Morrowindish ones.

There's apparently a (small, blurry) concept art of an Argonian floating around. The legs appear to be somewhere in between... They're not 100% human like in Oblivion, but they're not properly digitigrade either. More like humanoid with a small extra bend in them. How/If this actually translates to the in-game models and animations is anyone's guess.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but if you're amenable to the genre, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is just incredibly stylish. It was one of the first DS games I played that felt like it was using the console properly rather than tacking gimmicks on. YMMV though.

Question:
Is it possible to make a workshop reaction that uses any body part from a single species of animal?
For example, you could give it a cat corpse or cat head or cat fur or cat cartilage, and they would all produce the same thing, but dog parts wouldn't work?

So wait, is this the sort of game where the enemies are a mishmash of stuff borrowed from popular culture? If so, that's a little disappointing.

Somehow it feels like, every time I finish reading something good, the rest of the universe is diminished in its brightness and I will never seen anything so beautiful again.
I've had something like an extreme version of that a couple of times...
When I marathoned Gurren Lagann a couple years back, I became convinced it was the most intensely awesome thing I'd ever seen in my life. Which was great, but once it sunk in that it was over my mood absolutely crashed because I felt like nothing else existed that could match it. It was seriously something like a week before I could feel happiness about anything again. It all seems pretty silly in retrospect...

It seems my state of mind is affected way too much by fictional things. :/

Encountered the first enemy of the game, lost my will to live, curled up in the middle of the floor in the vague hope that it wouldn't see me. It did and ate my face.

I made it all the way through Silent Hill 2, and it was brilliant.

Many years back, I put forward the theory that what stops horror games from being truly horrifying is the fact that your ability to fight back effectively means you end up feeling in control of the situation. The baddies aren't as terrifying when you know you can just pump whatever jumps out at you full of lead and be safe again immediately.

Fast forward a few years to when the Penumbra demo came out. I was like "finally, this is it!"

I got as far as the first monster and fearquit forever.  :P

While not the most horrifying, Scratches also deserves special mention for managing to freak me the hell out in a game with no enemies where nothing can hurt you.

Haggis is so goddamn delicious.
My family has it every year on Robbie Burns Day, along with roast beef and mashed potatoes. We have to buy it from a specialty British food shop. I look forward to it every year...

As far as I know you don't actually eat the casing (stomach or artificial) so I've never understood what the big deal about that was. You just slice it open and then scoop the deliciousness onto your plate.

I wanted to show off a creepy song but couldn't find it online, so decided to upload it to Youtube. Cue wasting an hour struggling to get into my Youtube account which I made 4 years ago and used once. None of my passwords worked, and none of the recovery emails were making it through so I had to go on some wild and elaborate treasure hunt to figure out how to add the Youtube email address to my safe list. Then it wouldn't let me use it until I linked it to a Google account I'm pretty sure I never created but apparently exists, so the password's a mystery again now.

Sad thread because I don't think anyone actually looked at the video.

A friend gave me this years ago, and it's still the creepiest-sounding song I've ever encountered:

I had to upload it myself (ugh) because it's so damned obscure.

Rough translation of the lyrics:
