The Cave any good? Looks interesting.

It's charming but the puzzles are meh or infuriating. None of them were very satisfying. It's also fairly short.
And there's really too much running between the puzzles. It's like 90% running / 10% solving puzzles. It's not bad per se, as the concept is interesting, but well... too much running for its own good. :)

Other Games / Re: the Steam Trading Cards thread
« on: July 21, 2013, 11:39:01 am »
As for the worth of the cards: Meh.  I'm selling most of my cards, but using those steambux to purchase cards for games that I feel strongly about (and craft the badges).  I'm essentially spending money on this frivolity, yeah, but it's a small amount of non-redeemable dollars and it's fun to do it with friends.
I'm also doing this. Using the bucks I gain from selling cards from my other games, I buy cards and craft badges for games I care about, usually indies. And yes, I'm just doing all of this for some neat-looking sprites that I can apply in chat and on my profile.

At least, the trading cards got me to try and play some games of my library that I had forgotten about , like TF2, L4D2, Shogun2, SR3, etc...

Next wurm?
Nah, it's a single-player game.

Edit: actually, there's a stretch goal for 4-players co-op.

What is Frontiers?

I can still remember the first time I played Daggerfall. Yes, it was uglier than a monkey's armpit and controlled worse than a bumper car on a frozen lake.

But it also created the feeling of a world that lived on even after I'd stopped playing, and that feeling still sticks with me all these years later. A world where you could spend hours searching every pixelated nook and cranny. A world of potential. A world of EXPLORATION...

...and then a Dragonling would chomp my face because I hadn't spent ten hours grinding in the easy regions. Arg! So frustrating!

Other games have touched on that elusive feeling, especially Elder Scrolls and early Fallout games, but as fun as they are and as much as I love hardcore RPG mechanics, I've always dreamt of a game that emphasized exploration above all else.
FRONTIERS is that game

It looks nice and it's already quite advanced, so I decided to pledge for it. This game is already kickstartered, but you can still back it for the next 7 days.

I'll leave why I purchased this a mystery given that review.
Dammit, what a teaser. :D
Overall, I agree with Neonivek. In its current state, this game quickly becomes boring. It lacks diversity of things to do. It'll surely improve in the following months, but for the time being it's "just" a good 3-4 hours ride (at least, in solo).

The Hacker has been kinda buffed (more outlets, better placement of outlets and quicker viruses), because of this hilarious topic. Go read it, it's really entertaining (poor Toby :( :P).

Does too much running get better once you get a mount?

Also how much does this cost? You cannot even look at the price without signing up. As well what is the pay method? (Once again cannot find out unless you sign up)
Well, I did not grind enough to get a mount. You need 6 skill-points (= 3 levels) in order to unlock the mount skill, which allows you to ride your pet at 110% of your speed for the first level of the skill (plus, you also need a mountable pet). So, on a long term it should get better, but grinding so many levels takes a lot of time.

Pay methods are paypal and credit cards, but it appears that some people had problems when trying to pay with credit cards.

I played it in single-player a couple of hours today and here's my short impression:
-nice graphics: "biomes" and bosses' places are really nice
-pets are cute :)
-no music yet
-this game must be played in multi-player. Bosses are just impossible in solo.
-"itemization" is not diverse/good. Moreover, you can't use other classes' stuff. :(
-too grindy and too much running. "Biomes" are too big, and bosses' places are too far away from each other.

Edit: I played as a warrior.

I've been making maps and one of them is currently featured in the beta! I made the map "the best laid plans," a 3-floor summer home heist. Give it a shot if you are looking for a custom map!
Oh, that one's yours? Awesome! I played it earlier and I remember dying horribly in the attic, after having discovered the secret passageways. I'll give it a 2nd shot tomorrow. :)

On my side, it's a combo between new Borderlands 2 expansion and Rogue Legacy. I should be back on the server in the next few days. :)

Actually it's 6% per level, but yes, it's not worth it. And are you sure about the lich's HP cap?

My method for gold-run is to clear the castle first before moving into the forest. It can net me something between 1k and 3k gold, depending on my luck with the chests. But I usually died with an amount of gold between 1k and 2k. My best run today was a 5.6k run, but I don't remember with which class. I think my best runs were the ones I played through with hokages or spelunkers. For runes, I tend to avoid +gold runes and prefer using vampiric runes, which increase survivability and therefore amount of gold found over a long period.

Now I just need to train myself to not get raped by the first boss. :D

On the price topic, I also think that this game should cost 10$ or less, but I also did pre-order this game at the price of 10$.

It works fine for me, even if MC also tells me that I "only" got 119 mods. Btw, if you have missing IDs problems you have to grab the update in the google doc in the OP.

209
Yeah for whitelisting! Can we get the IP? I just finished installing the mods (but weirdly MC claims it only has 119 mods...). :)

And here I was, wondering about which tech mod/modpack to play through. :D

Can I be whitelisted, please?
