Actually, if I recall correctly, when you add stuff to the tomb the dead dwarf is now shown to own it.

This is going to come into play once necromancy comes back, I'm certain of it.

So I recently was looking in the "freinds and relatives" screen for some dwarf in fortress mode and noticed I could still "link" over to view the details of a deceased dwarf.

It listed him as still owning all the stuff in his tomb. This may be old news to most, but I am surprised: Dead Dwarves still own stuff! Is this a half-finished mechanic for creating annoyed undead? Also, why can't I dedicate Tombs post-humously?

It doesn't revolve around the word "can" at all. It revolves around that "only" modifier.
Saying something "can" be something does not say it MUST be so.

Now can we get back to talking about things besides grammar? Like, say, Alligators suddenly occupying regular peoples houses?
Is is a Time Travelling Screwup or Error in the Raws. Let the player decide.

Umm.. they still reproduce by spores, I don't recall that being changed. So the only contraceptive the female dwarves really need are beards for "filtering" spores.

Although I hear they're all baldfaced next release, so I'm not sure what methods should be implemented instead. False beards for "chaste" girls?

the thing is, they're not "submerged"
or, at least the game doesn't see it so... until the level of the waterwheel is also under magma because of the hastily-designed experiment. Then it burns just fine.

H'uh. Lately I always seem to be getting the children having the moods.

Bonecarver. Stonecrafter. Woodcarver (That one got et before his beard came in, tho)...


all useless. I didn't plan on making htis a long term fortress, so they'll likely not even grow up. Any trick from keeping children from the Moods?

...and lowered my framerate below the 20 mark. (not that it wasn't hovering just above before that).

Back to the original steamy magma tower plans (and finding a better PC to run DF on).

this town with the elves - there are roaming bands of elves sometimes ( I once killed 80 some elves that wandered into a human town as I watched.)
I think someone told me that they were armies from worldgen. So maybe you stumbled across a town that had been depopulated by a battle in worldgen? A battle that had been interupted by the end of worldgen, thus leaving the remaining populations confused and lost?
