not sure about that, but it should be roughly the same as magma pool/pipe, which gives 50-70% of the tile(screen) maybe? it'll be at the centre of the tile, so You really just need one shaft per tile to find out(don't know how large was your embark area)

Unlike magma, water is pressurized, so it flows upwards - it is perfectly possible to bulid a well like you said. However, for some reason in my fortresses, water allways seemed to stop one z-level under the top-water source level, which is really weird and makes me wonder how exactly is water physics modelled. Anyways, keep in mind, that wells can access water from several(don't know what's the limit) levels below, thus, there should be no problem.

You will receive a message when You'll dig into the space containig the pool(same as with magma pools/pipes, caves, underground rivers). If You'd rather not cheat after all, just try doing some exploratory mining, vertical shafts every here and there are quick and efficient.

"Polishfrightful the Harshness of Mechanisms" - a giant Iron axe blade.
Once I had a gcs silk short skirt, menacing with spikes of gcs silk(can't really picture those). I don't remember the name, but it was properly BDSM-sounding.

Was it not the expedition leader/mayor in later game, that the guild rep. wants to talk to? besides, if I remember correctly, there's no need for office, the meeting can be conducted in the designated(i) meeting area, but a dwarf will get a happy thought for doing so in the office. Also try disabling all jobs for that particular dwarf, else he goes on doing all sorts of hauling or whatever before bothering to talk to the guy.

If Your recordkeeper is doing his job, then You can go to the [z] screen ->stock, choose the category in question and expand it[tab]. You'll see that items are sorted by quality, with the best ones at the top. You can [z]oom(or was it [v]iew?) to each. Never in my life did I do any engravings, but I suppose they're not listed there. Just the items[feel free to point out my ignorance if I'm wrong].
On the downside, You have to know what sort of item category You're looking for.

Napoleon wanted to use aluminum for his army, but it was so expensive and rare that he could only get a few sets made, I believe.
Sounds like a really dumb idea, considering it's softness and at-the-time value. Can You remember any sources confirming that, bombcar? I'm curious, 'cos Mr. Bonaparte seemed like a smart guy otherwise.

Hi, ChazFox. Make sure you're using CAPS when entering new data in .ini file. Game doesn't recognize any changes otherwise.
