WTH do you mean by "letting Ukraine bleed"? It sounds like you are saying "Ukraine is fighting because American masters told them to." which is frequently used by Russian propaganda. Or do you mean that without American assistance Russia will quickly win and the war will stop?
He's saying it's in American interest to weaken Russia by keeping them engaged in a prolonged, costly war. More than having Ukraine win. Hence the support that keeps you going, but not much beyond that.
Not and uncommon view among the crowd with more realpolitik-tinted optics.

I remember there being a lovely spot for a mountain hideout, next to the river in Holy Nation territory, near the slave mines and not far from their capitol settlement. There's, like, a natural stone gateway hiding the entrance, that you can fortify. It's generally very atmospheric.
But you absolutely need that mod that overrides buildings snapping to the ground, and lets them overlap the terrain a bit. Otherwise you'll end up with structures at disgusting angles and holes in the walls.

The interview was for the benefit of a particular audience. By picturing himself as a sensible 'no nuking, lol' leader he makes it more likely voters in the US will lean towards whomever proposes striking a deal - which is Trump. It's calculated.

for once I don't think I can see a way that Russia could be behind it.
For one, it could be spreading and reinforcing the meme of a coup through its social media trolls. Sowing discord is what they do.

Zaluzhny going out was long in the talks. It's hardly an out of the blue decision.

Yeah, I've got my popcorn ready. Tucker Carlson. What a champ for free speech. Fair and balanced. Both sides deserve to be heard.
You think they're supplying our buddy Tucker with a body double and a script, or will the genuine article drag his arse out of his bunker?

Two episodes into Severance. It's great.
It's about people who work (?) on data (?) so sensitive, that they have to undergo a procedure that separates their memories in and out of work. So they're essentially signing off a part of their life to oblivion, while creating another person whose entire world is confined to the work environment where they toil endlessly (since that part of them doesn't experience any downtime after they clock out).
A simple idea explored carefully and cleverly, like in a good sf short or an episode of the Twilight Zone.
There's this wonderfully unsettling aura of existential dread permeating everything. Something very Lynchian about it. Possibly a commentary on modern life or life in general, but it doesn't hit you on the head with its metaphors.
Quality production and a few well known faces in the cast (Turturro, Walken, Arquette).

Ok, that was a binge. It's the best thing I've seen in a while. Go watch it.

Iran bombs everyone but... Israel they swear to destroy. Isn't it cute?

This happens when you know that there will be a massive response from Israel but expect nothing substantial from others. Being strong works when dealing with predators, "deescalation" doesn't.
You think the nearly 1000km between their borders has nothing to do with it?

Remember to put out food offerings each winter for your local dinosaurs. This sacred covenant is the only reason they let us mammals scurry in the dirt below.

"Ah yeah, realpolitik mate. The guys we're friendly with will stop being our friends and in exchange we get... Uh... Nothing, not even a friendly nation. Perfect opportunity to kill our lads."
Are they Russian?

Thanks for that, Jerick. Spotlighting the Troubles as a proof that reconciliation through communication and compromise is possible, despite so much bad blood, is important.

But there is another, more important, dimension of this war. So often ignored. RELIGION. Israel occupies zero % of Lebanon and yet there is a war with Hezbollah.
Isreal and Lebanon have a harsh history together, including supporting religious militias, mutual invasions, and being complicit in massacres. There was never any proper reconciliation, just repeated bouts of violence. We could spend another dozen pages or so talking about how big a part does the religious fanaticism play in this conflict. But I think bringing up religion at all here is not useful. Whenever it's brought up, it's never to steer the discussion towards solutions, but rather to justify staying the course. To convince others you can't reason with >these people<. And when you can't reason with them, violence is the only option.
I don't know why anyone would want to go there.

Oh, it'd be very complicated, as it'd require reinventing the entire game to have turns resolved simultaneously.

29
Does the game have Dominion-style MP? i.e. "one turn a day"
It's different in that it's play-by-email, i.e. each player sending their save to another player in the turn order, and not using a dedicated server to host turns simultaneously. This means the turns can end up taking a loong time to go around if you have more than two players and the game is in an advanced state. Especially later on, as it can easily take an evening to process everything for a single player (and procrastination-related delays get multiplied too).

Yes, you seem like a troutworthy fellow.
