Myself, I'm not seeing myself picking it up at all. The price tag is more nuts than I remember (you truly are a wealthy radish). And I might have been burned out on Dominions anyway.
But being able to read up on how differently it plays in this much detail is much appreciated. Ta.

I understand the big selling point this version is the extraplanar activity? Plus some minor tweaks.

Sounds like the deplorables narrative all over again.

Yeah, but the last couple times the sun would never set on their empire. These days, a mid-sized cloud is all it takes to hide their dominion.

I'm trying to get into Slow Horses, but it's not quite living up to the glowing recommendations I've been sold on. Was expecting modern, perhaps bawdier, John le Carre. What I'm seeing is competently made, engaging, but bland and kinda shallow.
Which is, incidentally, how I feel about most visual entertainment these days.

Oh, but credit where it's due: slovenly Gary Oldman is fun to watch.

When everybody decides blowing shit up is necessary is when you have a world war.

I low key hate the guy for living the life.

These updates put me in a mood of maaaaaybe thinking about potentially considering entertaining the idea of having another go at MP.
Would there be any interest some time in the not-to-immediate future? Maybe try Oceania this time? Some house rules (cough*nukes*cough), etc?

So the guy behind Dogtooth and Lobster made a, uh, comedy(?) called Poor Things. I've only seen the trailer, but I think I'm gonna dig it something fierce.
I can't really tell what it's all about other than it looks like some ungodly steampunk/frankensteinian/feminist fever dream.
Anyone gets to see it before I get the chance, do leave a review.

Bruh we used to be like 7 people who were actually active here, and Armok was 3 of them. This place is ludicrously active, I haven't been able to keep up with it for years.

The numbers don't lie though.
Are you saying Kaguses lie then? Nay, it's them thar numbers. They see the past through rose-tinted glasses. They get wobbly with age. Don't trust them with your money.

Must this even be political in nature? The Somali piracy was driven by the collapse of state institutions and poverty, and Yemen ain't exactly doing fine in those areas.

I hope Israel will be firm enough to prevent any UN activity in Israel or Palestine in the future

Are you making an argument here? Because if you do, it looks awfully like this: a UN organisation employs local teachers. Some of them turn out to be full-on Hamas supporters. Therefore UN supports Hamas (at best unwittingly).
And therefore... UN should stay out of Palestine because that's Israel's business? Not intervene? Not criticise? Pull back its humanitarian aid? All of the above?
What's the point you're making?

And the more we talk, the more likely it is (due to Hitler's Law) that someone will try to argue their point by bringing up Mike Godwin...
You sound like Hitler, mate.

Honestly, whenever I hear about frivolous litigation like that I end up thinking yours is not a serious country.

The Running Man. I've just rewatched it, having seen it as a kid previously. I did remember it as shallow entertainment, but not this much. The plot is the barest of bones, there's maybe two actors that don't butcher their lines, the one-liners are cringe and overabundant, and half the screen time is taken up by the camera lusting after every piece of flesh it can glue itself to.
It's like some studio exec saw Rollerball and said: 'Let's make a porn parody of this, only with more carnage and violence. But cut all the sex and gore so that it's pg-13.'
