And so, the peace came to the galaxy, blah blah blah.

Fine by me.

Thank you Aqizzar, that's what I had in mind.

General Discussion / Re: Atheists

I consider myself an atheist, and find my stance perfectly sufficent for explaining the world around me.
Your "God experience" could be also explained on purely psychological terms, whatever it was.
I don't think I'm alone in the universe, there's at least one planet full of life to accompany me. And even if I felt alone on some higher level, I don't think that inventing a Big Brother sort of being would be the best way to alleviate any such "loneliness".
World seems perfect to you because you evolved to fit on this world.
A statement: "there's a reason for everything" is equally viable as the: "there's no reason for anything". There's no evidence to support any one of them, but one can always use the Occam's razor, which seems to favour the second one, as the world seems perfectly able to exist without any reason to it, at least in my opinion.
There's no real reason to believe in Occam's razor's infallability, of course.
How did everything start? Hell if I know. It could very well just start. Whatever you mean, life, the universe and stuff.

I like the religion's tendency to tell people to do good, athough ideally, a human should be able to do good without it.

Define my planets and your planets.
(got to check "bluster" in a dictionary, you're not insulting me, right? ;)

That offer is, unfortunately, not really attractive, for obvious reasons(or soon to be obvious). I'm all for peace though. I'm sure we'll manage to make an agreement of sorts soon enough.

Finished mine as well.

Aqizzar: I think that the reason for not changing sects was that it doesn't do anything apart from making all your troops on given planet loose 5% loyalty every time you do so. So, while I might be wrong, it's possible that you've just made your forces 10% less loyal.

Just a quick draft. (MoonDancer, this is meant to be a joke, take it easy.)

You say you want to drink with me,
But do you know,
What that truly means.
I will resist.
I can hear your swears,
And see your thirst.
I will resist.
I can feel your angry stare,
And smell your sweat,
As it moves along your brow.
I will resist.
I hide my bottle,
From your prying eyes,
Because you are selfish,
And never shared with me.
I will resist.
You sense my desire,
And can feel my need,
In each stroke of my pick.
I must resist.
The axe you hold,
The armour you wear,
Hold less power,
Than you could ever suspect.
I must resist.
You raise your arm up,
Your clenched fist aimed at my chin.
I should resist.
I hide my booze,
From your prying eyes,
Because you are a sob,
You egoistical bastard.
I should resist.
You offer your money to me,
In a hope that I will sell.
I can’t resist.
I drink with you,
It tastes foul.
Now I need to get more booze.

That VAIO laptop is a nice thing if you want a media center-ish one. However, the GF9300 GS is, according to "notebookcheck" site, rather average: Modern DirectX 10 games will run only in low details and resolutions. Older DirectX 9 games, like HalfLife 2 or Far Cry run fluently in medium to high details.

Try this one: http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668231.php
it's got a GF9800 GTS with 1gig RAM, can't get much better than this for it's price.
Or, just look at the comprehensive list of notebooks notebookcheck is reviewing:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Sorting-by-graphic-card.2674.0.html - this one's listed by GPUs, because that's what makes laptop a gaming thingie.

It turns Tor into the ultimate killing machine. It unlocks all his weapons and whatnot. If you like additional challenge.

Hey, mainiac, do you think you could post the galaxy map of our current game, for the sake of our audience?(which is a misnomer, I guess. nevermind)
Or at least tell us how do you make a screenshot, please.

De Moley is also a Barren planet, meaning, it's a trace bonanza.

Turn done and sent.

9748
wait, you've got music?

9749
Well, you've got a point. Perhaps it's just that the I/P one is so well covered by the media. We just seem know this war much more intimately and thoughly than e.g.the one in Afghanistan.

I was actually reffering more to the fact that both sides feel morally justified to act the way they're acting, and they seem completely unable to just skip the subject and look for some solution.
