DF General Discussion / Re: Shameful admissions..
« on: June 18, 2015, 06:53:00 pm »
One of the best starts of one of my early fortresses involved deconstructing a trade depot a few times. The sudden wealth did eventually bite me in the ass (ambush), but we pulled through, and doubled our efforts military-wise after our harsh lesson.

For what it's worth, the great dining hall was a worthy effort that looks pretty awesome, and put our wealth to use.

Speedrunners is on flash sale right now. 3 bucks. Definitely worth it.

you dont understand
Just play it with a supersledge and raiders man.
Waka waka waka (ingests some Rad-X, mentats, and etc.) waka waka waka (ingests some (Super) Jet) raiders start running until they're blue to the face. Post-contact, they're none more than eyes left. Doing this inside the ruins of a library or bookstore would be like a maze while at it.

Fract OSC is on sale. Definitely a fun experience. Beautiful environment, great music, and pretty cool puzzles. Feels like you're on the Grid from Tron. Classic Tron.

I'm not gonna lie, the only big concern I have so far is modding in general. The game looks so damned polished, modders will need to work damned hard to make mods that look nearly as.
Also, games on my pip-boy? YES PLEASE
Definitely helps for waiting on things to happen, especially when you can't just conveniently sleep an hour straight or so; so to keep you busy during the few minutes you're waiting on something to fall just to plan and such. Of course, I think the games can bite you in the ass and alert the nearby enemies to your location far more easily (or a clever deathclaw may be sneaking around you while you're busy saving the town from falling nukes.). That is, unless you turn off the sound first, if available.

Sale on launch sounds like a gradual increase of price during the transition to final.

Well, don't I feel like a fool, I've been on the Nintendo channel the whole time (ended up missing Square-Enix). The Zelda game was pretty funny to watch being played. Perfect co-op arcade style fun.

Star-Fox had some nifty features, and the Mario Editor game is pretty damn intuitive to use. Amiibos add more hidden content to the game.

And suddenly, Muppets!

EDIT:
Mario Editor. Incoming Kaizo alert!

EDIT EDIT:
I love how the transitions are not only a gimmick for the presentation, but also a function of the game being featured in them.

Antichamber's worth it. I recommended Robot Roller Derby Disco Dodgeball earlier (if friend), Burnout is actually pretty fun too. When Speedrunners (Mario Kart as a superhero freerunning racing game) is on sale, I definitely recommend it (avatar is a sample; my usual character to play as, and his taunt).

Didn't we used to play video games to have fun?

I'm officially old now, aren't I?
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

We have our own ways of having fun. There'll never be an agreement between methods though. We can have a holy war between casual gaming and tournament gaming; those who play to win, and those who play to lose (to win). The story writers, and the story players.

Looking through the trailers and placing my votes here and there, and then... That art style looks familiar. Another Neverhood game (or in the same universe as it)? Beak Beak Blog looks entertaining, and might have a fun story behind it.

EDIT:
As much of a screw-up the initial Uncharted playthrough was, at least it dispelled any "scripted performance"/"pre-rendered gameplay" calls that other displays tend to get called out for.

Scarecrow Nightmare Missions? Okay then.

Scary as that sounds, I'm intrigued.

No Man's Sky definitely caught my attention. I can re-enact Spaceman Spiff adventures.

For Honor was pretty neat. Trackmania with VR?

* Itnetlolor restrains himself from vomiting at the thought of it.

Yes please. Been wanting a first-person experience like that since Stunts for DOS.
